Many millions of years before the events of Dragon Ball, Zalama placed various artifacts across the multiverse. Each artifact has different capabilities and powers. Finding and collecting these artifacts is the main adventure in Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon.
Universe 1 & Universe 12[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Heart of the Dragon. They are located on the desert world of Sovam, and each is guarded by a Keeper, who is an Agent of Destruction. To receive the artifact, one must challenge the Keeper in a duel to the death and win. The device is a small metal object that when swallowed will attach itself to the user's spinal cord (if physically possible), granting them the following benefits:
- Stamina boost
- Durability increase
Should anyone collect and ingest both pieces of the Heart of the Dragon, they will be granted a time-rewinding ability. This ability is weaker than Whis' ability, restricting the user to being able to rewind time from roughly 60 seconds prior, or less, depending on the amount of stamina used. Using the device requires a tremendous amount of energy and stamina, so for even an exceptionally powerful warrior, it is unlikely that they would be able to rewind time more than two times in a row without being forced to take several months to recuperate.
Due to the taboo of rewinding time in multiversal law, these artifacts are unique in that they may not be used by anyone who does not already possess God Ki. Should someone kill a Keeper while not possessing god ki and then ingest one half of the Heart of the Dragon, they will die (usually via their head exploding) within 60 seconds.
Universe 2 & Universe 11[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Soul of the Dragon. They are found on the snowy southern continent of Kelapu. Each is located in a small temple. When one enters the temple's perimeter (marked by metal pillars), the artifact will spit out a lightning bolt of energy that morphs into a mirror of the warrior. The mirror has the same powers and abilities as the person who enters the area. However, should the mortal unlock a new form or achieve a power boost beyond their maximum after they enter the area, the mirror will not mimic that power boost. To acquire the artifact, the mortal must defeat their mirror.
The device is a small metal object that when swallowed will attach itself to the user's spinal cord (if physically possible), granting them the following benefits:
- Increased physical and energy recovery time
- Access to all of one's species' transformations
- God Ki
Should anyone collect and ingest both pieces of the Soul of the Dragon, they will be granted the Limit-Breaking transformation.
Universe 3 & Universe 10[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Mind of the Dragon.
The device is a small metal object that when swallowed will attach itself to the user's spinal cord (if physically possible), granting them the following benefits:
- Increased telekinetic abilities
- Mind reading
Should anyone collect and ingest both pieces of the Mind of the Dragon, they will be granted a mind control ability. Both mind reading and mind control require a tremendous amount of stamina to use and are less effective the stronger the target is.
Universe 4 & Universe 9[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Wings of the Dragon. They are located on the swampy world of Cheppugalhay. Each is located in a large temple. The artifact is located two hundred meters from the perimeter. When one enters the temple (marked by metal pillars), the artifact will immediately send out a shrill warning signal. Anyone inside will lose the ability to use ki attacks or fly (unless they can do so naturally). The muddy swamp inside the perimeter was enchanted by Zalama to be difficult to navigate, regardless of the mortal's power level. The mortal will have a very short amount of time (approximately 8.24 seconds) to reach the artifact, all the while dodging (or weathering) pulses of energy which come approximately every second, until the 7.5 second mark, at which point, Energy of Destruction replaces the normal energy attacks for a series of seven blasts which go off every 0.1 second thereafter. If the artifact is not reached within the allotted time, it will disappear for 17 days, slipping into a pocket dimension, thus making it unreachable for that period of time. The same is not true if someone enters the territory of the swamp, but leaves before the timer reaches its endpoint.
The device is a small metal object that when swallowed will attach itself to the user's spinal cord (if physically possible), granting them the following benefits:
- Increased speed
- Increased ease of use and precision for teleportation, dodging, and movement techniques
- God Ki
Should anyone collect and ingest both pieces of the Wings of the Dragon, they will be granted unbound Instant Transmission, which allows them to teleport between universes with ease.
Universe 5 & Universe 8[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Dragon's Fire. It is unknown on which planets these artifacts originated and which test needed to be completed to acquire them, for the pair has been in the possession of the Corvos League for many millions of years.
The device is a small metal object that when swallowed will attach itself to the user's spinal cord (if physically possible), granting them the following benefits:
- Increased power to ki attacks
- Increased ki reserves
- God Ki
Should anyone collect and ingest both pieces of the Dragon's Fire, they will be granted the ability to use Energy of Destruction.
Universe 6 & Universe 7[]
The artifacts shared across these twin universes are each known as the Dragon's Gift. These are commonly known as the Super Dragon Balls.
