Taron (タロン, Taron) is a powerful Saiyan warrior introduced in the fanon storyline Dragon Ball Super: The Ember Awakens Arc. He is the **second son of Bardock and Gine**, making him the **middle brother** between Raditz and Kakarot / Goku. A survivor of the Saiyan race's near-extinction, Taron awakens in the modern era after decades of cryogenic stasis and emerges as a powerful but emotionally scarred warrior with a unique form—Super Saiyan Crimson.

Biography[]

Taron is a Saiyan warrior and the long-lost second eldest son of Bardock and Gine, younger brother to Raditz and elder brother to Kakarot / Goku. Presumed dead during the Planet Vegeta extermination, Taron was preserved in cryostasis aboard a rogue escape pod, which launched just before the planet’s destruction. Due to a cloaking field and delayed trajectory, his pod went undetected for decades.

Upon his reawakening, Taron initially seeks vengeance, misinterpreting Goku’s survival as a betrayal of the Saiyan legacy. However, through trials, allies, and inner revelations, Taron transforms from a bitter outsider into a self-controlled warrior and guardian of Earth. His arc spans across the entire Crimson Embers Saga, culminating in his mastery of Super Saiyan 4 and the achievement of a base power level of 50,000,000.

Appearance[]

Taron has spiky, jet-black hair with reddish-brown highlights, intense black eyes, and a muscular physique. He bears several battle scars from training and war. Initially clad in old Saiyan armor reminiscent of Bardock's gear, he later adopts Earth-inspired martial clothing, including a flame-patterned sash given to him by Pialin.

In his Super Saiyan 4 form, Taron's hair becomes wilder, and his upper body is covered in crimson fur. His eyes glow amber with slit pupils, and his tail returns, symbolizing his balance between primal instinct and focused power.

Personality[]

Taron begins as emotionally distant and battle-hardened, speaking in blunt terms and distrusting most people, especially other Saiyans. He is haunted by Bardock’s last vision and struggles with guilt over surviving when so many of his kind did not.

Over the course of his journey, he evolves into a calm and introspective warrior who values peace, love, and protection over vengeance. He rarely jokes, but when he does, it is dry and pointed. By the saga’s end, Taron is respected not just for his strength, but for his wisdom and balance.

Powers and Abilities[]

Taron possesses immense natural potential, enhanced by decades in cryostasis. His fighting style combines Saiyan aggression with Earth martial arts discipline.

  • Gine – Though he never knew her personally, her reputation for kindness lingers in his values.
  • Raditz – Taron sees Raditz as a cautionary tale of untempered Saiyan pride.
  • Goku / Kakarot – Initially seen as a traitor to their kind, Goku becomes Taron’s foil and greatest source of growth. They eventually form a deep, unspoken bond.
  • Pialin – The key emotional anchor in Taron’s story. Their romance is slow-burning but profound, culminating in their mutual devotion during the final arc.
  • Vegeta – Taron and Vegeta spar both physically and ideologically. They develop grudging mutual respect.
  • Piccolo – A mentor who helps Taron master ki control and spiritual discipline. Their bond is built on quiet, mutual understanding.

Legacy[]

By the end of the Crimson Embers Saga, Taron is revered as one of Earth’s most powerful and grounded defenders. Though he avoids the spotlight, he founds the Crimson School, where he and Pialin train the next generation of fighters in both power and restraint.

He is remembered as:

  • The last of Bardock’s sons to find peace.
  • The only known Saiyan to master Super Saiyan 4 without artificial enhancement.
  • A warrior who chose balance over conquest.
