Shaya (シャヤ Shaya) is a Time Patroller who was recruited into the Time Patrol for her enhanced battling skills. She was originally an Earthling, but through the usage of the Dragon Balls, wished to become an Earthling-Saiyan hybrid.

Appearance[]

Shaya's first outfit

Shaya's first outfit.

Shaya's appearance resembles Pan's, except the fact that Shaya keeps her hair in a ponytail with a bow, and when it's loose, it reaches her waist.

For her first outfit, she wears a crimson dogi, a yellow short-sleeve shirt underneath that exposes her midriff and navel, while also wearing a teal belt and dark blue kung fu shoes.

Shaya's second outfit

Shaya's second outfit.

Shaya's seconds outfit consists of a crimson dogi-like trench coat, with a black shirt underneath (which she keeps wrapped in bow-styled teal belt), completed with long dark black arm warmers that covers her arms and hands. She also wears short crimson biker shorts, black stockings and black shoes with white accents.

Shaya's third and current outfit consists of a red overcoat with plates on her shoulders. Her undershirt remains black, and she also wears black elbow length gloves.

Personality[]

Ever since a young age, Shaya has proven herself to be extremely feisty, tough, and tomboyish, seen from her choice of outfits, preferring more of a biker-style look rather than girlish or attractive ones. She is also fiercely independent, sarcastic, direct, stubborn, and confrontational. Shaya is often brutally honest when criticizing others, especially her friends. She is vocal about her opinions on others regardless of status, such as deities like Old Kai, Supreme Kai of Time, or even the God of Destruction Beerus.

She appeared eager to prove that she was as strong as anyone who could see and once claimed that she was "the greatest martial artist in the world". This attitude was most prominently shown when she was training alongside her best friend Garia, as she taught him to face his opponents and problems head-on. Due to her confrontational and sarcastic nature, Shaya is an expert in verbally taunting and insulting her opponents and, on occasion, her friends, which often causes them to lower their guard and lose their composure, to which Shaya uses to her advantage.

A trait which Shaya shares with her best friend, Garia, is her undying love for fighting, which was only intensified after she became a Saiyan through the usage of the Dragon Balls. Shaya expresses deep and pure excitement and joy whenever she has then chance to battle strong opponents, and ravels whenever she's capable of showing her true strength in front of others, showing desire for acknowledgement. Nonetheless, Shaya's willing to ignore her own feelings of joy if the situation's critical, such as ending battles quickly to prevent negative consequences, despite wishing to prolong battles as much as possible.

Shaya's eagerness to prove that she could be independent led to some initial difficulties during her beginnings as a Time Patroller, often ignoring orders and prolonging battles for her own amusement (further distorting changes in time as a result). Nonetheless, while Old Kai was reluctant about recruiting her because of this, the Supreme Kai of Time saw great potential in her and foresaw great development in her.

Another trademark trait of Shaya's personality was her laid-back and carefree attitude, shown as when Shaya explained to Future Gohan about herself, and the Time Patrol, despite Garia's attempts to stop her, telling her that they shouldn't expose themselves, with Shaya simply brushing him off, reminding him that their interference would become nullified once time was restored to normal, making anyone they came in contact with lose any memory of themselves or any information they presented.

Nonetheless, Shaya is overall a passionate and kind-hearted individual, deeply caring about her friends, and does her utmost best at protecting history to prevent those she cares about from being destroyed. A prime example of her good nature was when she witnessed Garia being controlled by Towa, causing her to become increasingly infuriated, which in turn, unlocked her Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and became overjoyed when Garia was freed from Towa's mind control.

Biography[]

Background[]

Shaya was born on March 3, Age 755. As a toddler, Shaya became interested in martial arts after watching the World Martial Arts Tournament on television, and grew up perfecting her skills. Because of this interest, Shaya met and became best friends with a boy named Garia, who also shared her love for battling. Over time, Garia also developed romantic feelings for Shaya, although Shaya was oblivious to them, and did not reciprocate them.

Eventually, Shaya and Garia watched broadcast of past tournaments and witnessed the battle between Master Roshi and Goku at the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, and both decided to train under Roshi. However, because Roshi was under the disguise of "Jackie Chun", Shaya and Garia were unable to locate Roshi, until seeing Roshi themselves and connecting the dots together, and both of them anxiously asked Roshi to train them. Seeing the two youngsters determined, Roshi accepted their request and began training them.

Over the next few years, Shaya and Garia quickly learned how to properly control their inner energy and ultimately master it, after which Roshi "graduated" them, stating he had nothing else to teach them, and needed to perfect their own skills by themselves. Afterwards, Shaya and Garia would often challenge each other to spar matches to test their powers, and each time they battled, they would become stronger.

Shaya and Garia both eventually decided to participate in the 24th World Martial Arts Tournament, but before they could register together, Garia mysteriously disappeared, with neither Shaya or Garia's parents ever knowing where he went or how he disappeared and assumed he was either kidnapped or killed. Because of this, Shaya cancelled her plans to enter the tournament and used her powers to search the entire Earth looking for her friend, but was unable to find him. Because of this, Shaya became determined in sharpening her skills to the fullest to honor Garia.

King Piccolo Saga[]

Months following Garia's disappearance, Shaya was training by herself in the woods when she was mysteriously engulfed in a bright light and was teleported away from the Earth. Upon awakening, Shaya found herself at Conton City, and was greeted by the Supreme Kai of Time and Old Kai, who proceeded to explain to her about themselves and the Time Patrol, and offered her to join them, to which Shaya immediately accepted after hearing about strong opponents that she would eventually come up against.

After touring around Conton City, Shaya became utterly shocked to see a statue of her best friend Garia in the middle of the city, and Old Kai explained about Garia's accomplishments and role in saving all of history from the Demon God Demigra two years prior to her arrival, leaving Shaya shocked, but nonetheless proud of her friend's strength.

Arriving at the Time Nest, Old Kai and the Supreme Kai of Time assign Shaya for her first mission, and inform her she needed to be careful not to change history more than it already has, and send her off towards Age 753, the period where King Piccolo was terrorizing the Earth.

When Shaya arrives, she finds herself witnessing the battle between King Piccolo and Goku. However, King Piccolo's body becomes engulfed in a dark aura and surprisingly overpowers Goku, sending him crashing through numerous buildings. Shaya then decides engage King Piccolo in battle, but she's outclassed by the powerful Namekian. As King Piccolo prepares to deal the finishing blow, Goku strikes the evil Namekian with a long-distance Kamehameha, although King Piccolo is barely fazed by the attack.

Shaya and Goku decide to join forces and the two battle together against King Piccolo, but King Piccolo continues to overpower them both. As King Piccolo hovers in the air, Shaya uses her Kamehameha at her feet to launch her towards King Piccolo, which catches him by surprise, and Shaya delivers a powerful knee strike onto his face, which gives Goku the opportunity to punch a hole clean through King Piccolo's chest, mortally wounding and restoring history back to its original flow.

As Shaya celebrates her victory, she's ordered to return to the Time Nest and bids the exhausted Goku farewell. Arriving at the Time Nest, Shaya is congratulated by the Supreme Kai of Time and Old Kai, although Shaya claims her power was nowhere near King Piccolo's and desired to become stronger. The Supreme Kai of Time then suggests Shaya follow Garia's footsteps and use the Dragon Balls and wish to become a full-fledged Saiyan. Being explained by Old Kai about the Saiyan race and their immense power and limitless potential, Shaya becomes anxious and quickly heads to the Dragon Ball Pedestal and summons Shenron. However, Shaya instead wishes to become only half-Saiyan and retain some of her human DNA, stating that despite being inferior than others, she was proud of being from Earth and didn't wanted to lose any part of it.

Turles and Lord Slug Saga[]

Despite becoming increasingly stronger, Shaya began to ignore orders given to her by Old Kai, mostly because of her Saiyan DNA wanting her to prolong battles as much as possible, causing history to become further distorted, and often ignored Old Kai's lectures and sermons by falling asleep. This began causing Old Kai regret recruiting Shaya, but the Supreme Kai of Time not only foresaw great development in Shaya's persona, but also thoroughly enjoyed seeing Shaya make Old Kai angry, amusing herself every time they bickered.

Before being assigned for a dangerous mission, Shaya re-encountered her childhood best friend Garia, and his partner Future Trunks, after they had just returned from their unsuccessful mission in capturing Mira and Towa. Shaya greeted her longtime friend and the two began to reminisce about their past before Shaya and Future Trunks were paired together, and were sent back to Age 762.

Arriving on Planet Namek, Shaya and Future Trunks find themselves in confrontation with an empowered Turles and Lord Slug. While Future Trunks and Lord Slug battled, Shaya began facing off against Turles. Firing a Kamehameha warning shot, Shaya becomes annoyed at Turles' immense power, but nonetheless charges at him recklessly, but is pummeled by the evil Saiyan.

Just then, Shaya is saved by Garia, who was sent in to help them after sensing Towa and Mira nearby. After Garia transforms into a Super Saiyan 3, Shaya surprises him by revealing herself capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan and the two anger Turles by casually talking to one another while ignoring him. Shaya and Garia combine their Kamehameha's together and send Turles flying with their combined efforts. Suddenly, Garia notices Towa at a distance, and leaves Shaya to pursue her.

As Turles recovers and returns to the battlefield, Shaya deems him worthless of being an opponent, which triggers Turles' wrath and causes him to relentlessly fire a barrage of energy waves, which Shaya manages to block. As Turles grabs his Fruit of the Tree of Might, he attempts to bite a piece of it and become stronger, but Shaya manages to intercept him and steal the fruit off his hand. Shaya herself eats the entire fruit in one swoop and her power increases beyond recognition, and by powering up, Shaya ascends into a Super Saiyan 2 just as Garia returns and with her newfound power, she outclasses, and ultimately obliterates Turles with her Super Kamehameha.

After returning to the Time Nest, the Supreme Kai of Time offers to prepare a feist for them as a reward, and while Shaya becomes excited at the thought, Garia and Future Trunks become frightened, and they proceed to explain that the Supreme Kai of Time's cooking was horrible and perhaps deadly, causing Shaya to change her mind completely, and the three Time Patrollers quickly, and quietly, flee from the Time Nest before Chronoa could properly invite them for a meal.

Future Gohan Saga[]

When another distortion in time arises, Shaya and Garia are assigned by the Supreme Kai of Time to investigate. Wondering why Future Trunks wasn't contacted, the Supreme Kai of Time reveals the change in time occurs in Future Trunks' timeline, and involves Trunks' master, Future Gohan. Both Shaya and Garia teleport towards the distortion, and witness Future Gohan battling against Future Android 16.

Shaya and Garia join forces with Future Gohan and the trio battle against Future Android 16. After a long and struggling battle, Garia, Future Gohan, and Shaya successfully defeat Future Android 16 after combining their attacks together. After the battle, Future Gohan thanks the duo and expresses his surprise at having strong fighters left on Earth, but senses something different about them, and Shaya proceeds to explain everything about themselves and the Time Patrol, despite Garia trying to stop her from revealing anything.

Future Gohan expresses his delight in seeing that they risked their lives to protect the flow of time, and after Shaya mentions Future Trunks, Future Gohan asks if Future Trunks had become stronger, to which Shaya confirms, saying that Future Trunks was perhaps stronger than him. Future Gohan becomes joyful at hearing this, and asks them to tell Future Trunks that he was proud of him, before sensing Future Android 17 and Future Android 18 destroying a nearby city, and Future Gohan flies off to challenge them. After Future Gohan leaves, Garia scolds Shaya for hastily exposing themselves as Time Patrollers, but Shaya brushes it off, saying that since their interference becomes nullified regardless of their actions, Future Gohan wouldn't remember them anyway, so they shouldn't worry about it, leaving Garia comically annoyed at Shaya's carefree attitude.

Back at the Time Nest, the Supreme Kai of Time congratulates them on their successful mission, and expresses her interest on how different and skilled Future Gohan was than his alternate counterpart, and arranges for Future Gohan to arrive in Conton City to train Shaya and Garia. When Future Gohan arrives, Shaya and Garia ask him if he remembers them, to which Future Gohan confirms, saying that his current self was the one that had already met the two of them, and tells them to prepare themselves for training. After training with Future Gohan for several hours, Shaya's power increased to a great amount while Garia only increased slightly, although both of them learned new techniques under Future Gohan.

Buu Saga[]

The Supreme Kai of Time announces that Tokitoki has finally laid its egg, explaining to Shaya that as Tokitoki controls time, its eggs marks the dawn of an entirely new timeline. The Supreme Kai of Time calls for a celebration, offering to cook, but Shaya, knowing she is a terrible cook, stops her by asking if they can celebrate later. She agrees as Garia is not present. In an unknown time and location, the Masked Saiyan gives Towa Babidi's Energy-Suction Device full of energy, which Towa uses to empower Mira and the controlled Broly and Janemba standing behind him.

In Age 774, an empowered Broly appears while Goku fights against Majin Vegeta, and Shaya battles against Broly. However, Shaya struggles against the Legendary Super Saiyan, until Vegeta defeats Goku and joins forces with Shaya, and together, they defeat the empowered Broly. Suddenly, Majin Buu appears and Shaya and Vegeta again join forces to battle it, as Buu becomes engulfed in Towa's dark energy. After knocking out Goten and Trunks and ordered Piccolo take them away, Vegeta orders Shaya to leave Buu for himself, and Shaya teleports away as Vegeta blows himself up along with Buu.

Shaya later arrives to help Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo fight an empowered Super Buu. When Gotenks defuses, Shaya fights Super Buu as Old Kai says that Gohan will soon arrive after his full potential has been awakened. Gohan arrives and Shaya helps him fight Super Buu, but suddenly an empowered Broly appears. Shaya fights Broly to prevent him from interfering with Gohan's fight. When Broly is defeated, Shaya learns from the Supreme Kai of Time that Vegeta is unable to return to Earth because he is being held up in Hell. Shaya leaves Gohan to fight as he makes his way to Hell to help Vegeta.

Shaya goes to Hell and sees Future Trunks defeated by an empowered Janemba. Future Trunks offers to help, but cannot due to Vegeta being in the vicinity. Vegeta then appears and helps Shaya battle Janemba. Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan while Shaya transforms into a Super Saiyan 2. Janemba uses its Cosmic Illusion technique, but both Shaya and Vegeta managed to dodge the attack. Vegeta and Shaya fire their Final Flash and Kamehameha attacks, respectively, but Janemba manages to teleport away to avoid before striking Vegeta with Cosmic Illusion. However, Shaya manages to perform a barrage of physical attacks on Janemba, before Vegeta uses his Galick Gun attack on Janemba to cause further damage.

Because of the damage it suffered, Janemba's dark energy vanishes, which severely weakens it, and allows Shaya and Vegeta to destroy Janemba by engulfing him with their combined Final Flash attacks. As Vegeta marvels in his victory, Shaya returns to the Time Nest. However, Shaya immediately returns to the battlefield after Old Kai informs her that another change in history occured, and Shaya finds herself at the Sacred World of the Kai, where she aids Vegeta and Goku in battling against Kid Buu after Towa's energy engulfed Kid Buu.

As Vegeta battles Kid Buu and Goku charges his Super Spirit Bomb, Shaya charges her Full Power Energy Wave from a distance, and when she fired in Kid Buu's direction, the Majin simply eats the attack and swallows it completely, rendering it useless. As Vegeta's stamina decreases, Goku finally charges the Super Spirit Bomb and launches towards Kid Buu, who manages to push back thanks to Towa's energy. However, Shaya uses a Spirit Bomb of her own (receiving energy from Time Patrollers from Conton City) and strikes Kid Buu with it from behind, causing Buu to lose his balance and allow Goku's Super Spitit Bomb to desintegrate him entirely. As the heros celebrate, Shaya notices the Masked Saiyan nearby and chases after him, and they are both teleported to another place in time.

Shaya and the Masked Saiyan find themselves at the Earth's atmosphere, having just interrupted the battle between Goku and Beerus. Shaya and the Masked Saiyan engage in battle while a confused Goku watches, and an increasingly frustrated Beerus watches. Ultimately, Shaya manages to shatter the Masked Saiyan's mask, revealing him to be none other than Goku's father, Bardock. Suddenly, Mira appears and engages in battle against Shaya, until Beerus losing his patience and begins attacking both of them. However, the Supreme Kai of Time, who foresaw Beerus' interference, sent a box of her hand-made puddin to Shaya, who then presented it to Beerus and Goku while Mira and Bardock retreat. However, both Goku and Beerus find the puddin hideous, and while Goku suffers from a bellyache and Beerus becomes infuriated, and Whis requests Shaya's help in calming him down.

Shaya and Whis attempt to restrain Beerus, but Beerus breaks free and engages in battle against Shaya, who barely manages to dodge his punches, which impresses Whis, before Whis manages to calm Beerus down with a chop on the back of his head. After Beerus regains his composure, Beerus demands Shaya to leave before he destroys her and returns with Whis to his planet while Shaya returns to the Time Nest.

Golden Frieza Saga[]

Weeks after discovering Bardock's identity, Shaya, Future Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time attempt to track down his movements, but are unable to due to Towa covering their tracks perfectly, and also prevents them from properly discovering at what point in history Towa gained control over Bardock. They are then interrupted when the scrolls report another change in history, and Shaya is assigned to investigate.

Shaya arrives at Age 779 and joins the Z Fighters in battling the invading Frieza Force. All of Frieza's minions are engulfed in Towa's dark energy, but Shaya and the Z Fighters are still capable of swiftly defeating them. However, when Shisami, engulfed in Towa's energy, steps in and effortlessly kills Piccolo, Shaya engages him in battle alongside Gohan, and while Gohan struggles against the empowered Shisami, Shaya manages to battle him equally after ascending into a Super Saiyan 2.

Just then, Tagoma appears and prepares to battle him. However, Captain Ginyu, who was in possession of a Namekian Frog's body, swoops in and changes bodies with Tagoma. Nonetheless, Shaya effortlessly defeats Ginyu due to the latter not being used to Tagoma's body. After Goku and Vegeta arrive on Earth through Instant Transmission, history slowly restores itself as Vegeta kills Ginyu and the battle between Frieza and Goku starts normally.

However, history once again changes once Cooler makes his appearance and joins forces with his younger brother. Shaya and Vegeta proceed to step in and battle the brothers. Shaya transforms into a Super Saiyan 2 while Goku and Vegeta battle under their Super Saiyan Blue forms, while Frieza and Cooler become surrounded by Towa's evil energy. The three Saiyans manage to fight on par with the brothers, until Frieza attempts to destroy the Earth. However, as Beerus and Whis departed from the area (and therefore Whis wasn't around to turn back time and revert Frieza's actions), history was changed for the worse, although Shaya managed to save herself by teleporting back to the Time Nest.

Once there, Shaya finds out that Towa hacked the Time Nest's communication systems and mimicked the Supreme Kai of Time's voice to lure Beerus away from the Earth. An annoyed Beerus plans to destroy Towa, but they instead decide to restore history back to normal as they return to the moment when Frieza destroyed the Earth, and Whis turns back time, and history unfolds as it originally happened. Back at the Time Nest, Beerus expresses his desire to destroy Towa, but the Supreme Kai of Time insists to allow her Time Patrollers to deal with her, and Whis accepts their request, much to Beerus' chagrin, and bids them farewell as Whis and Beerus (forcibly) return to their planet.

The Masked Saiyan Saga[]

With things calm, a little too calm, the group decide to investigate Bardock's disappearance from the original timeline and save him from Towa's mind control. Shaya and Future Trunks travel to Age 737, moments before Frieza destroys Planet Vegeta. Before Bardock is killed by the attack, he is sucked into a wormhole. Towa and Mira appear, and Shaya and Future Trunks chase them. They arrive in an unspecified point in time, and Towa appears along with the masked Bardock. Mira appears to help Bardock. When they are both defeated, Bardock's mask is shattered, and Towa traps Future Trunks and Shaya in a wormhole slowly sucking them into a separate dimension with no way out. They are saved by Bardock, who regained consciousness and pushed them out of the wormhole with an energy wave.

Bardock, free from the mind control, traps Mira in a full nelson. Due to Bardock gaining power from being under Towa's control, Mira is unable to free himself from Bardock's hold. Bardock powers up, telling them to never underestimate the power of a Saiyan, and he drags Mira along with him into the wormhole leading to the separate dimension. After briefly panicking over Mira's demise, Towa reveals her trump card: A mind-controlled Garia, which shocks both Shaya and Future Trunks, as Garia himself had been absent for quite some time, and Future Trunks then realizes Towa gained information about the Time Nest through Garia.

The sight of Garia's mind-controlled self infuriates Shaya, demanding Towa to return him to normal. However, Towa simply laughs and refers to Garia as her "personal toy", which leaves Shaya increasingly irate, and her wrath triggers her transformation into a Super Saiyan 3, which shocks not only Future Trunks, but Towa as well, although she quickly regains her composure and sends Garia into battle against Shaya and Future Trunks.

Due to Towa boosting Garia's power with her mind control, Super Saiyan 3 Shaya and Super Saiyan Future Trunks are no match for Garia, and they instead decide to focus on freeing him from Towa's control. After Shaya distracts Garia long enough, Future Trunks shatters his mask with his sword, freeing Garia from Towa's control. Towa becomes in awe at her defeat, but refuses to give up and teleports away. Suddenly, Garia's body begins to fade away and Shaya, and Future Trunks also lose any memory of Garia and his actions.

Back at the Time Nest, Shaya, Future Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time attempt to remember the incident, but can't clearly remember anything aside from Towa. Suddenly, every scroll that Garia ever corrected became altered again, and after Shaya vaguely remembers seeing Garia's statue when she first arrived, she finally regained her memories and checked the most recent alteration in history. It's revealed that Towa had travelled back two years in time, and killed Shenron as Future Trunks was about to wish for Garia to arrive in Toki Toki City as history originally occured, and Shaya proceeds to traverl back to when Future Trunks first wished for Garia to appear, and she prevented Towa from interfering with history, causing Garia to return to Conton City.

Back at the Time Nest, the Time Patrollers celebrate their apparent victory, until Towa herself emerges inside the Time Nest and steals Tokitoki's egg and reveals the mask that Shaya and the others retrieved off Garia allowed her to teleport inside the Time Nest and penetrate the protective barrier. Just then, Mira emerges from the warmhole that Bardock dragged him to and attempts to kill Shaya with an energy blast, but the attack is blocked by Garia, although Garia gets sent flying. As Towa and Mira retreat, Garia and Shaya trade fist bumps as Garia entrusts her the safety of history before passing out, and Shaya enters the warmhole after Mira and Towa.

Arriving at the same undisclosed place in time as before, Shaya engages both Mira and Towa in battle. As the battle heats up, Towa notices that Mira begins to overheat from his immense power, and he grows insane. Towa tries to calm him down but fails, and is forced to help Shaya subdue him before his core overloads and destroys the entire universe. When Mira is defeated, Towa tries to take out his core to repair it, but Mira stops her and grabs her by the throat. Mira betrays Towa and says he has grown past her schematics and proceeds to absorb her into his being, along with Tokitoki's egg she is holding, attaining his true form. With Mira too powerful, Old Kai pleads for Shaya to retreat, but as Mira attacks her, she is saved by the arrival of Goku.

Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue and helps Shaya fight Mira, explaining that Whis brought him to this time and he is glad to be able to repay the debt he owed the Time Patrol. Goku and Shaya's powers allows them to fight Mira equally, with Mira growing more and more excited at the fierce battle. Ultimately, Goku holds Mira in a full nelson and shouts at Shaya to end the battle, and Shaya prepares her Dragon Fist attack, and just as Goku moves out of the way, the attack penetrates Mira and finally defeats him. As Mira is being destroyed, he laughs and wished he could have fought more, asking Towa to forgive him before separating himself from her, effectively saving her life in the process.

In the aftermath of the battle, the Time Patrollers summon Shenron and wish for a giant feast for the entirety of the Time Patrol members, and during the feist, the Supreme Kai of Time approaches Shaya and congratulates her on her efforts, and reveals her true name: Chronoa, and says that only herself, Future Trunks and Garia knew her true name, and Shaya becomes honored to be acknowledged.

"Future" Trunks Saga[]

Despite not actively participating in the battle, Shaya observed Garia's battle against Goku Black and Future Zamasu from the Time Nest and became infatuated with the fusion between Garia and Future Trunks, known as Garunks, and upon their return from their mission, she openly admitted these feelings, along Chronoa, who also became infatuated with the fusion's fierce and good looks, much to both fusee's embarassments.

Dark Dragon Ball Saga[]

Sometime after the battle against Goku Black and Future Zamasu, Shaya and Garia are seen training together until they are interrupted by an alerted Old Kai, who demands them head over to the Time Nest immediately. When they arrive, Chronoa explains that Towa survived the final battle against Mira and became even stronger after being nominated a Demon God. She continues to explain by saying that with the aid of a Time Breaker Namekian, Towa created the Dark Dragon Balls. She explains that each ball possesses the ability to merge with an evil entity to power them up, along with their ability to grant a wish when gathered, and unlike their various counterparts, the Dark Dragon Balls scatter through time and space.

Chronoa then assigns Shaya and Garia to their most critical mission yet: Gather every Dark Dragon Ball and return them safely to Conton City, where Chronoa would use her powers to completely destroy them to prevent Towa from using them. Travelling back to Age 762, Shaya and Garia witness Frieza merging with the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball, causing Frieza to undergo a Dark Evolution and outclasing Super Saiyan Goku during their battle.

As Frieza knocks out Goku, Garia tells Shaya to tend to Goku's injuries while he battled Frieza and ascends into his Super Saiyan God form. Garia and Frieza battle it out, with Garia slightly managing to withstand Frieza's enhanced attacks, until Garia manages to forcibly remove the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball from his body, reverting Frieza back to normal. However, the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball is snatched off Garia's hands by Demon God Towa, who sarcastically thanks Garia for retrieving it to her before teleporting away, much to Garia's chagrin. As Frieza attempts to attack him, Garia easily knocks him out with a Super God Fist.

At the Demon Realm, Towa hands over the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball to her grandfather, Mechikabura, and together, they list the aid of numerous Time Breakers to gather the remaining Dark Dragon Balls.

Chronoa then discovers two new changes in history, and she splits into two groups: Shaya and Future Trunks would head to one location, while Garia and herself would head to another location. When they arrive, Shaya and Future Trunks find themselves on Age 789, and witness Baby Vegeta having merged with the Four-Star Dark Dragon Ball while battling against Super Saiyan 4 Goku.

Future Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan while Shaya simply powers up. As Future Trunks questions why Shaya remained in her normal state, Shaya reveals she hadn't merely powered up, and activated her hidden potential unlocked by Old Kai, making her stronger without the need of transforming. Shaya and Future Trunks then join Goku in battling the empowered Baby Vegeta. Surprisingly, Baby Vegeta's power wasn't capable of standing up against the three Saiyans, and was defeated rather quickly.

Then, Future Trunks and Shaya decide to join up with Chronoa and Garia and teleport away to their location. When they arrive, Shaya saves Garia from being blasted away by Cell, who was merged with the Two-Star Dark Dragon Ball and had transformed into Cell-X. Deeming Cell-X too powerful, Chronoa wonders what they could do, and Shaya suggets fusing, to which Chronoa agrees, but doesn't seem to decide who would fuse with who. Interested, Shaya proposes herself to fuse with Chronoa with the Potara, curious at what kind of being it would create. Despite Chronoa becoming rather concerned, her curiousity is even greater than Shaya's and the two females successfully merge with the Potara to create the Chroya, the Supreme Saiyan of Time.

Both Garia and Future Trunks stare in awe at the might power of the merged Chronoa and Shaya. Gravy panics, never expecting Chronoa to fuse with anyone, and slowly retreats from the battlefield. However, Cell-X shows no emotion and simply attacks Chroya, who showcases her ability to manipulate time and space by freezing Cell-X's attack and effortlessly removing the Two-Star Dark Dragon Ball with the blink of an eye, with Garia and Future Trunks being uncapable of even sensing them moving due to her freezing time.

Chroya then charges up an Energy Blade which pierces through Cell-X and slices him in near-invisible pieces. However, Chroya's fusion runs out immediately afterwards, and Chronoa theorises because their powers combined were too much for the Potara to handle, the fusion's time limit decreased from one hour to mere minutes, if not seconds.

Before the Time Patrollers had the chance to return to the Time Nest, Chronoa detects yet another change in history, and fearing an even greater opponent, she enlists the help of Goku and Vegeta. When they arrive, they witness Demon God Dabura being utterly defeated by Kid Buu, who's merged with the Three-Star Dark Dragon Ball. Kid Buu then absorbs Dabura, therefore becoming Demon God Kid Buu. Then, they're all joined by Putine, who attempts to retrieve the Dark Dragon Ball off Kid Buu, who effortlessly defeats Putine after her arrogance backfires against her.

Goku and Vegeta use the Potara to fuse into Vegito. Vegito immediately steps in and the empowered Kid Buu begin fighting where they prove to be a match for each other, exchanging blows on both sides. Vegito fires his Spirit Sword technique directly at Kid Buu but before it reaches him the attack is blocked by the sudden appearance of Chamel. Meanwhile, in another dimension, Turles, who has merged with the Four-Star Dark Dragon Ball, encounters Salsa who has shown up alongside Mechikabura and the Dark-Masked King in order to recover his Dark Dragon Ball.

Suddenly, Vegito diffuses back into Goku and Vegeta, and Chronoa begins to panic, but Garia steps in and ascends into Super Saiyan God and fights Kid Buu. Suddenly, Mechikabura, Towa, the Dark-Masked King and other members of the Dark Empire appear and reveal to have collected the other Dark Dragon Balls and with Towa's power, they also gained control over strong warriors such as Broly and Janemba to help them destroy the Time Patrollers.

Shaya unleashes her "Ultimate" form and battles against Gravy. Despite Gravy's power being extremely high, Ultimate Shaya's power was more than enough to allow her to outclass the evil wizard, and after slicing off both of his arms, Shaya kills Gravy by combining her Kamehameha and Final Flash attacks into one, powerful, attack.

Ultimate Shaya engages in battle against Towa, and their powers are rather equal, with Shaya's strength being superior to Towa's, although Towa's wizardry and newfound healing abilities allowed her prolong the battle without tiring herself, while Shaya became more and more exhausted. Ultimately, Shaya's stamina marked her downfall as it allowed Towa to defeat her by throwing her staff near Shaya, and drawing the Time Breaker symbol to create a magic circle and hit Shaya with an explosion in it, knocking her out cold. By the time Shaya awakens, the battle had already ended, with Chronoa having used her powers to transport both herself and Mechikabura out of the flow of time entirely.

After returning to Conton City, Shaya, Future Trunks, and the other members of the Time Patrol all agreed to nominate Garia the new leader of the Time Patrol until Chronoa's return, as Garia was the only Time Patroller capable of accessing the powers of a deity.

Dark King Mechikabura Saga[]

Six months after Chronoa's disappearance, Shaya continues her regular duties as a Time Patroller, until Elder Kai warns them about a disturbance in time. The Time Patrol head to Age 790 where they witness Gogeta fighting against Omega Shenron. Soon after arriving, Gogeta's friends and family are under a form of mind control and attack them, and Garia finds himself battling against Majuub while Shaya battles Pan, Xeno Android 21 battles Gohan and Bukha battles Gotenks. Shortly afterwards, Demigra and his henchmen Chamel and Robelu appear. With Towa and Dabura also in the area sporting a new more powerful Demon God state, Robelu tells Garia and Future Trunks to fuse. Doing so, Garia and Trunks fuse into Garunks.

Following Garunks's battle against Gogeta and Fin, a mind-controlled Chronoa appears and freezes everyone in place, Chamel uses his magic to teleport the Time Patrol and their allies to Demigra's lair, by which time Garunks has defused, leaving Gogeta in his altered timeline. The Time Patrol are told by Chamel of the six Hell Gates and that behind each one lies a Demon God who is maintaining a barrier to Mechikabura's Palace and they must all be defeated. Shaya heads through the red gate where Dabura is waiting for her and defeats her in a battle. She then returns to the hideout where she is subsequently frozen briefly by the mind controlled Chronoa and later struck by a mass of dark energy belonging to Mechikabura. Heavily injured, unable to fight and with Future Trunks being the only one left standing thanks to his Key Sword, Shaya along with the other Saiyans give Trunks their energy so that he can go on to face Mechikabura at the Time Nest, unexpectedly transforming him into a Super Saiyan God in the process.

After recovering, Shaya and the others travel through a rift to the now desolate Time Nest to assist Trunks and Chronoa in their final battle against Mechikabura. Super Saiyan 2 Shaya and the others buy enough time for Chronoa to recharge the Key Sword, enabling Gaks to deliver the final blow and seal Mechikabura away in an eternal labyrinth. After Tokitoki assumes a giant form and restores the Time Nest to it's original state, everyone celebrates their hard earned victory. Outside the Time Nest, Garia and Shaya decide to have a sparring session inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, with Shaya joking on their age difference due to Garia's time spent inside the chamber, and they both decide to go all-out without hesitation. Once inside the chamber, Garia transforms into a Super Saiyan, but Shaya surprises him by transforming into a Super Saiyan 4, and Garia asks when did she learn how to achieve the form, and Shaya explains that she wished for Shenron to grant her the power to transform, because she was full aware that she was falling behind in power compared to him. Garia smiles and also transforms into a Super Saiyan 4. Garia and Shaya trade blows for several minutes, until they both realize they were equally powerful, and both decide to transform into Super Saiyan Gods, before ascending further into Super Saiyan Blue, where Garia demonstrates being stronger by showcasing his mastery over the transformation by easily outclassing Shaya, who's ultimately defeated.

Power[]

Despite her power being nothing compared to Garia's, Shaya's power was enough to impress Deities beings such as Whis and the God of Destruction Beerus, who both commented that even without the power of the gods, Shaya's level of strength was impressive, remarking that she could probably reach the same level as Goku and Vegeta even without it. Her potential was so great and well-respected, for which it was the main reason why Chronoa recruited Shaya into the Time Patrol.

In the beginning, Shaya's power was above average for Earthlings, but was far inferior than Saiyans and any other form of alien lifeform. However, after becoming an Earthling-Saiyan hybrid through the usage of the Dragon Balls, Shaya's power increased tremendously in a short period, such as that Future Trunks remarked that Shaya's hidden potential was far greater than his own or Gohan's.

After many battles against strong enemies such as Frieza, Janemba and Broly, Shaya's power reached unimaginable heights, which surprised not only herself, but those around her. During her final battle against Mira, both Mira and Goku remarked that Shaya's power was far beyond anything they imagined, and should Shaya ever obtain the powers of a god, her power could easily surpass Beerus'.

When Old Kai unlocked Shaya's hidden potential, Shaya's power skyrocketed far more than ever before, allowing her effortlessly defeat Gravy and battle toe-to-toe with Demon God Towa, although Shaya was simply defeated due to her loss of stamina due to Towa purposely prolonging the battle with her healing abilities. Nonetheless, Shaya was recognized by Chronoa as the strongest female Time Patroller, and the second strongest Time Patroller overall, behind only Garia.

Abilities[]

  • Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki.
  • Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave.
  • Ki Sense – The ability to sense the energy of other beings. She can also hide her ki to prevent someone else from sensing hers.

Shaya's Kamehameha.

  • Kamehameha – Shaya's signature move. Shaya learned this technique while training under Master Roshi on Earth.
  • Explosive Wave – A technique where Shaya bursts out ki from all over her body in order to repel the opponents around her.
  • Meteor Smash – Shaya punches the opponent in the stomach. Then, she punches the opponent away and flies after them to right hook kick them in their face. Finally, Shaya axe kicks the side of the opponent's head, knocking them away and inflicting a great deal of damage.

  • Final Kamehameha – Shaya's ultimate attack. She puts both of her hands forward and then towards her side, combining the energy of the Final Flash and the Super Kamehameha into a compact whitish blue sphere surrounded by occasional streaks of yellow ki. Shaya then fires a massive energy wave with swirls of yellow ki, which creates a gigantic explosion on contact and leaves a huge cloud of smoke behind.

Shaya unlocked this form at an undisclosed period after using the Dragon Balls to become a Saiyan. As a result of this transformation, Shaya's hair turns golden and becomes spiky. Her facial expression becomes sharpened, and the color of her eyes turns a bright emerald green.

Shaya's power multiplies by 100x while under this form, allowing her to battle the likes of Turles, while being empowered by Towa's dark energy, and stand toe-to-toe with Future Gohan during their training together.

After realizing the weaknesses inherent to the higher Super Saiyan grades, Shaya concluded that mastery over the basic Super Saiyan form would be more advantageous and went on to improve her endurance in that form.

To which, she trained to maintain Super Saiyan form for extended periods of time, gradually overcoming the heightened aggression that accompanies this form and reducing the energy drain to nearly nothing, thus achieving a max output for a Super Saiyan without drawbacks. This allows her to fight at her full potential and not lose energy like an untrained Super Saiyan.

As a result of mastering the Super Saiyan form, Shaya herself remarked that out of all her forms, the mastered Super Saiyan transformation is her favorite, simply because it was the easiest one to control, and how perfectly her power was maximized under the form, although admitting that her other forms were superior in terms of power.

Super Saiyan 2

Shaya Super Saiyan 2

Shaya unlocked this transformation during her battle against an empowered Turles. When Turles attempted to eat a piece of the Fruit of the Tree of Might, Shaya swopped in and stole the fruit off his hand, and proceeded to eat the entire fruit herself in one fell swoop, drastically increasing her strength and allowed her to achieve Super Saiyan 2.

In this form, Shaya's appearance gains some changes: Her hair grows larger and spikier, making her hair more defined than her other previous Super Saiyan forms, along with disappearing hair strands surrounding the forehead which are exclusive to this form. Her muscles also become more defined and her aura also generates electricity surrounding her body, while the aura grows markedly larger and more vibrant.

After accessing this form, Shaya's powers increased immensely, allowing her to completely outclass Turles and battle fairly well against enemies such as Broly and Majin Buu, although struggling while doing so. She also managed to dodge Beerus' punches while the latter was infuriated, although barely, which nonetheless earned praise from Whis.

Super Saiyan 3

Shaya Super Saiyan 3

Shaya as a Super Saiyan 3.

Shaya unlocked this transformation after witnessing Garia being mind-controlled by Towa, and her wrath was the trigger for the transformation. Unlike most Super Saiyan 3 transformations, Shaya's hair grows only slightly longer, and she retains her eyebrows (male Super Saiyan 3's eyebrows vanish completely) and her facial expressions are also more refined than a male Super Saiyan 3's.

A small increase in Shaya's muscle mass is evident, and her muscle tone becomes sharply defined. Her voice also tends to get gruffer while in this form, and her energy radiation is so great that the aura around her body pulses at an extremely high frequency, almost to the point where it seems static; the sound of the aura is also pitched even higher than that of a Super Saiyan 2.

Initially, Shaya struggled greatly to maintain this form due to the amount of strain her body suffered while under this form. Unlike Garia, who upon reaching new heights discarted the form completely, Shaya decided to master the form to its fullest, as despite not being the strongest Super Saiyan form, the potential the form held was unknown and far greater than any other Super Saiyan form, and should anyone master it, the power of a Super Saiyan 3 could perhaps surpass those of a Super Saiyan God or even Super Saiyan Blue's, something that both Beerus and Whis agreed.

Potential Unleashed

Shaya Potential Unleashed

Shaya's Potential Unleashed form.

After having her hidden potential unlocked by Old Kai, Shaya became capable of pushing her power beyond her normal levels via her Potential Unleashed state. This state looks virtually identically to her normal state, except with the aura engulfing her body becoming more violent.

After first accessing this form, Shaya admits that her powers were far stronger than any other Super Saiyan form she had achieved, which was proven as Shaya managed to battle equally against Demon God Towa, whose powers rivalled, or even surpassed, Mira's. However, because Towa's healing abilities allowed her to purposely prolong their battle, Shaya began to lose more stamina as the battle raged on, which ultimately led to her defeat.

After unlocking this form, Shaya began referring to herself as Ultra Saiyan (ウルトラサイヤ人 Urutora Saiya-jin). However, at the suggestion of Chronoa, who remarked that Shaya's powers had reached her "ultimate level", Shaya discarted the original name and began referring herself as both Ultimate Saiyan (アルティメットサイヤ人 Arutimetto Saiya-jin) and Ultimate Shaya (アルティメットシャヤ Arutimetto Shaya).

Super Saiyan 4

Shaya SSJ4

Shaya as a Super Saiyan 4.

Shaya achieved this transformation after wishing for Shenron to gain the ability to awaken this form. While under this form, Shaya's overall appearance changes dramatically. Her muscles become larger and more defined, but unlike male Super Saiyans 4, she only grows taller for a short amount, having the appearance of a teenager rather that of an adult. Her hair grows longer and wilder, reaching her mid-back. She also gains golden-yellow irises and the pigments around her eyes become lined in red.

The most defining change of her appearance is her body being covered in scarlet fur covering from shoulder-to-toe, excluding her chest and hands. Because of this, her upper clothes are torn to shreds, leaving her chest completely exposed, although her fur partially covers her breasts, leaving her only dressed below the waist, excluding her gloves. The power of this form is vastly greater to Super Saiyan 3 with less drawbacks. Shaya is easily able to match opponents such as Super Buu and Perfect Cell.

Super Saiyan God

Shaya Super Saiyan God

Shaya as a Super Saiyan God.

Shaya unlocked this powerful, yet mythical, transformation by at some point before the Time Patrol's battle against Mechikabura through the usage of the ritual between pure-hearted Saiyans.

Shaya's appearance in this form is slimmer with bright red hair shaped similar to that of her base form, red irises, slightly thinner, and a darker skin tone. Her aura generates like an orange flame. Usage of this form grants Shaya various heightened capacities. She recovers at an accelerated rate and requires the most minute amount of stamina to maintain this form. It lets her fight with more finesse and grace as she instinctively predict her opponent's attacks with more efficiency. Her ki becomes godly, allowing her to sense other such beings and likewise can mask herself from most entities sensing her. This form gives her more versatile control and usage of her ki, including absorbing and thus nullifying enemy attacks, paralyzing foes, and self-healing.

Originally, despite the incredible power, Shaya soon after reverts to base form due to the form's time limit. Having adapted to the feeling of Super Saiyan God, however, Shaya retained some of the power, letting her continue fighting with godly ki after reverting to her normal state. Through further training, Shaya learned to properly access and control this residual power, ultimately restoring its full properties to access this form at any time.

Saiyan beyond God

Shaya was able to obtain this state by taking on and then dropping out of Super Saiyan God. She is able to access the god-like power without changing forms. As explained by Whis, that in order to retain this state, the Saiyan must raise their energy while also controlling it so it does not leak out - it is noted by Shaya that initially it is very demanding to keep all the energy inside, while also calling it intense, and thus requires absolute ki control to maintain it.

Super Saiyan Blue

SS Blue Shaya

Shaya as a Super Saiyan Blue.

Shaya gained access to this form after training for two years inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and unlike male Super Saiyan Blue transformations, the shape of her hair doesn't change upon transforming, only becoming cyanish-blue. She also gains a blue aura shaded with some gold around her body. The form's power surpasses Super Saiyan God and is a level beyond that offers increased levels of ki and emotional control.

However, this form has a flaw caused by prolong and repeated usages. While not nearly as prominent as other Super Saiyan forms, Super Saiyan Blue's peak power could only be maintained for a short period before gradually decreasing from stamina drain. However, Shaya was full aware that she was inexperienced with the form, and would further training, she could gradually learn how to perfect the form and eliminate the loss of stamina and ki.

Chroya

Supreme Saiyan of Time

Chroya.

Through the usage of the Potara earrings, Shaya and Chronoa merged together to create the fused being Chroya. Chroya was first formed during the all-out battle between the Time Patrol and the Dark Empire, where Shaya and Chronoa decided to fuse after deeming their individual powers not enough to stop the Dark Empire's twisted plans.

Chroya's power was unimaginable, capable of manipulating time and space, where she effortlessly destroyed Cell-X by freezing time and by extent, Cell-X's attack, and removing the Two-Star Dark Dragon Ball off him in the blink of an eye. Chroya then charges up an Energy Blade which pierces through Cell-X and slices him into near-invisible pieces. However, Chroya's fusion runs out immediately afterwards, and Chronoa theorises because their powers combined were too much for the Potara to handle, the fusion's time limit decreased from one hour to mere minutes, if not seconds.

  • Scouter – A wearable, all-purpose computer that members of the Time Patrol use.
  • Time Machine – A machine that allows members of the Time Patrol to travel through different points in time to eliminate any traces of foul-play on the course of history. The Time Patrol's time machine are specifically designed to erase any alterations and encounters that Time Patrollers create upon their return to Conton City.
  • Senzu Bean – Mystical beans with immense rejuvenation properties.
  • Gravity Machine – A device invented by Future Bulma to help the Time Patrollers train under more powerful gravity in order to become stronger and raise their power levels.
  • Potara – Earrings worn by Supreme Kais and their apprentices. Despite being worn so casually, they have incredible properties, allowing two individuals to fuse or permitting the wearer to use the Time Rings.
