Sefarans (セファロ星人 Sefaro-seijin) are a race of octopus-like humanoids who live on Planet Sefaro. Their skin and eye color can vary in color drastically, and some members of the race can even have visible fangs and horns. They make up a large portion of the Planet Trade Organization's forces within the North Galaxy.

The name 'Sefaran' comes from the Japanese word Sefaropoddo (セファロポッド), which simply means 'Cephalopod' in English. This name was chosen due to their Octopus-like appearance. However, most members shown throughout the original series and Dragon Ball: Uprising simply have names based on fruit-puns.
Examples of this would be Appule, whose name is based on the fruit apple.
