The Saiyan Royal Guard is a large group of Saiyan warriors tasked with serving the monarchy directly as guards and enforcers. They are not required to follow any orders from influences outside of the royal family, and as a result its members only conquer and fight on behalf of Planet Vegeta rather than the whole of the Planet Trade Organization. Before the Guard was destroyed in Age 739, it was lead by Zorn, and was charged with the protection of King Vegeta III.
They play a major role in the Placement Trials Arc of Dragon Ball: Uprising, being the organization the organized the trials in search of new candidates. In a way, they also become minor antagonists near the end of that same arc.

The Royal Guard was formed for the purpose of protecting the Saiyan Monarchy from all threats, both physical and political. The members could be from any class, though it is primarily made up of the Saiyan high and middle class. Its founding members were notably former leaders of pre-monarchy Saiyan clans that would be the most interested in keeping Planet Vegeta from direct annexation into the Planet Trade Organization. As they only answer to the King of the Saiyans, they rarely partake in conquests or assignments for the Planet Trade Organization unless the King himself is present.
