The Red Dragon Brotherhood was a gang of no-good rotten vermin native to Earth. They operated primarily out of East City and North City. They dealt in many illicit activities, including prostitution, drug trades (particularly with crack cocaine), and large-scale theft. They were led by a tetrarchy: Super Handel, Wolf Tooth, Gangrene, and Junk Eye. However, Super Handel, being the most domineering personality, basically ran things himself. They were almost completely wiped out after attempting to steal a Dragon Ball from Grandpa Gohan, although the gang recovered slowly in the decades to follow. By Age 720, they had become a powerful gang once more.
History[]
During the events of Ain't No Hero, the Red Dragon Brotherhood sought out the Dragon Balls, hoping to use them to take over the world. By the start of the story, they had already found six of the balls. They eventually located where the last Dragon Ball was, leading them to a village near Grandpa Gohan's house. After Gohan found and escaped with the ball, Super Handel killed Junk Eye for his failure to find the ball and tracked the man across the desert all the way to the Ox-King's castle at Fire Mountain. The three remaining leaders and their soldiers pursued him, leading to a bloody engagement fought at high-speed. Eventually, Gohan was able to lose them by firing a Kamehameha at them, which killed many soldiers and gravely wounded Gangrene (who was left in the desert to die by Super Handel and Wolf Tooth).
The remaining soldiers eventually met up with Gohan at Fire Mountain, where another battle erupted. With the Ox-King's help, Gohan was able to push back the Red Dragons, with most of them dying in the onslaught, including Wolf Tooth (who was betrayed by Super Handel). Later on, the last remaining Red Dragons took a helicopter to the cruise ship where Master Roshi, Ox-King, and Grandpa Gohan were. A huge fight ensued there in which all of the soldiers were killed and Super Handel was flung into the ocean. The three took the seven dragon balls, keeping one apiece. Roshi spread the other four across the world, thus ending the Red Dragons' quest.
Sometime later, Super Handel washed up on the shores of an unknown island. There, he fought some hybrid Makyans, stole some crystal meth from an old woman, and eventually found a shanty town. In that town, he got into an argument with Mercenary Tao, which resulted in his death.
This was not the end of the Red Dragons, however, as they were still around during the events of The Perfect Lifeform. Indeed, while Roshi, Gohan, and the Ox-King had killed almost all of them off, they had not managed to eradicate the gang entirely, allowing it to persist for decades following the events of Ain't No Hero.
In Age 741, Android 5 assassinated an unnamed leader of this group. However, he managed to throw a grenade at the beast, knocking it off a catwalk and into a vat of acid, thus destroying it.
In Age 756, the Red Dragons ambushed Android 12, General Copper, and the Copper Legion in the southern islands of the world during their quest to find Goku. A firefight ensued. Soon after, Android 11 arrived. The two androids made quick work of the Red Dragons, bringing an end to the gang.
