Plot[]

Dial focus on the Black-Masked Saiyan prevented him from anticipating Nappa's recovery from the assault (but lost the Dark Magic power-up) and as a result - Nappa used this as a chance to use his Break Cannon. Dial finally noticed an attempted intercept but Piccolo beat him to it and was hit by the attack. Gohan watched Piccolo die as Krillin was shocked by the Namekian's sacrifice.

As Gohan shouted "Masenko!!!" Vegeta was shocked at how much they really can change their battle power. However, Nappa swatted it and noted that it hurt, however, Dial noticed that the Black-Masked Saiyan had extended his right arm and noticed that everything around him had suddenly become frozen in place. However, Gohan and Nappa were still very much moving as Gohan's Rage went into overdrive as Dial finally noticed unusual energy around them as they both transformed into their respective Great Ape forms and began attacking each other.

Dial managed to knock the both of them down but they received the same Dark Magic power-up that Nappa had earlier. Dark Great Ape Gohan proceeded to kick Dial, then land a strong punch and followed up with sending him flying with a kick. Dial attempted to use Spirit Neo Tri-Beam against them but Dark Great Ape Gohan struck him down as Dark Great Ape Nappa fired his Ultra Dark Break Cannon at Dark Great Ape Gohan but the young fighter responded by deflecting the blast at Dial but the Time Patrol used his transformation repel the attack as he entered his 2nd Form before immediately entering his 3rd Form after almost being hit by Bloody Sauce from Dark Great Ape Gohan.

Dial looked over to the Black-Masked Saiyan as Dark Great Ape Nappa forced his way through some dust and grabbed Dial, however, Dial proceeded to use his tail to fire a weaker version of Spirit Neo Tri-Beam in order to break free and evade Dark Nappa's next attack before deciding not to hold back anymore and enter his True Form. An entire area was almost shaken apart by his transformation as Dark Blue aura surrounded him. Dial felt that Dark Gohan's rage was still in overdrive and the sheer rage could kill him. Dial grabbed Gohan's finger and hurled him at Dark Nappa before darting directly at the Black-Masked Saiyan. Dial delivered a heavy punch to the Saiyan but the Black-Masked Saiyan didn't even flinch from the attack. The Black-Masked Saiyan kicked into the ground as Dark Great Ape Gohan was descending to attack Dial which resulted in Gohan striking the Saiyan followed up with Dark Great Ape Nappa firing Ultra Break Cannon, but the Black-Masked Saiyan knocked Dark Gohan away and deflected the energy wave attack into a nearby mountain.

The Black-Masked Saiyan proceeded to use Dark Giga Blaster as Future Trunks looked becoming irritated that his father was being controlled as Chronoa asked him how he knows that it's Vegeta with Future Trunks responding that he'd recognise his father's hairstyle anywhere. Dial attempted to mimic the Black-Masked Saiyan's attack but he was only able to pull off a regular Final Crash but the energy clash was short-lived as the Black-Masked Saiyan's energy wave overpowers him and almost hit but Dial dodged his attack but was sent flying from the explosion. Future Trunks decided he couldn't take it anymore and arrived in Age 762 and demanded that his father face him instead as he blasted off Nappa's tail and subdued Gohan.

The Black-Masked Saiyan seemed to hesitate as Future Trunks punched him in the chest but a rush of energy overwhelms his senses which caused him physical pain and seeing his father in pain pushed Future Trunks over the edged and as a result, he proceeded to transform into Super Saiyan 3. The Black-Masked Saiyan immediately transformed int Super Saiyan 2 and followed up with a punch to the gut as Future Trunks dodged the attack. The two seemed to be evenly matched despite Future Trunks being in a superior form, however, the Black-Masked Saiyan seemed to be intentionally holding back as Chronoa guessed that seeing his son's transformation may have triggered something in Vegeta to remember before properly transforming into Super Saiyan God. Vegeta effortlessly struck down Future Trunks and before Future Trunks could slash Vegeta with his High-Frequency blade - he held his hand to stop him and properly began tearing the mask off. Upon shattering the mask - Vegeta had finally revealed that the moment that started fighting each other in their transformed states - was the moment that Vegeta regained control over himself. Dial asked who was going to unfreeze time but Chronoa told him that was no need and to return to Time Nest as she'll simply have sent just a few moments after time was frozen.

Dial reverted to his 1st Form as Vegeta looked at him and stated that he may be taller than Frieza but that doesn't mean anything but Future Trunks told him how Dial came to be which caused Vegeta to be confused on why he didn't choose a Saiyan. Dial let the two talk it out before returning to the era to find Dark Nappa about to crush Gohan beneath his foot but the young warrior suddenly disappeared which confused Dial.
