The Nyarin (Harenabaxavae nyarinus) is a feline-like bipedal species native to Planet Frieza 077 (formerly Nyare). They are a clever, industrious species that live across their entire planet in cities both small and large. Their healthy population size has allowed many Nyarins to permanently move off-world, taking up residence in other planets across Frieza's Empire.

Nyarins are covered in aqua fur with black stripes across their ears, arms, legs, and back. In general, they are lithe hunters who may lack stamina, but are lethal in quick bursts. They feed on rodents, birds, and sea animals. Males are generally 5% bulkier than females, though the difference between the sexes in reality is negligible, as all members of a family are expected to hunt. Nyarins can give birth to litters of up to twelve, which helps explain their high population.

Diet and feeding

The Nyarin is an obligate carnivore and thus feeds almost exclusively upon flesh. They occasionally eat native grasses to help with digestion. Primitive Nyarins would hunt and eat their prey raw, but in modern times, the use of fire has become widespread and has resulted in the Nyarin brain to grow in size somewhat. Nyarins hunt small and medium-sized prey for the most part. They will hunt birds, fish, rodents, and lizards. They are also known to hunt larger prey, but usually that is done with a group of hunters. Both males and females are expected to hunt, and indeed, it is in their biology to have a desire to hunt. Nyarins who are unable to hunt may grow restless. Off-world Nyarin soldiers often engage in hunting routines in their training exercises to help them with this feeling, as there are not usually opportunities to hunt on Frieza's outpost worlds.

A Nyarin can go 11 days without food, on average, and four days without water.

Longevity and mortality

Nyarins reach sexual maturity at the age of 11-13 for males, and from 12-14 for females. Upon reaching sexual maturity, their black stripes start coming in. Before that, they have purely aqua fur. Males, on average, live to 132 years of age; females average 134 years. The oldest known Nyarin, a female, lived to be 207 years old. Females who have given birth to multiple litters of children have lower average lifespans, at roughly 114 years. Nyarins are a fairly healthy species and are not prone to many diseases, though various types of cancers are prevalent.

The birth mortality rate is roughly 1%, but this rate climbs to closer to 3% when dealing with litters of six or more.

Technology

As of Age 231, the Nyarins were highly technologically advanced. They had installed orbital defense turrets around their planet, indicating that they were space-faring. With that said, the quality of their ships was not equal to those of the Jolea at the time, which meant that off-world, Nyarins were preyed upon by space pirates quite often. They had highly advanced cities, using nuclear power for their primary energy source. When Bojack attacked the planet, the armies that defended it used laser weaponry to defend themselves. Overall, the Nyarins would be considered a Tier 3 civilization until they were annexed by the Planet Trade Organization, at which point they became a Tier 2 civilization.
