Murtaugh (マータウ, Maatau) is a recurring character in the fanfiction Dragon Ball: The Will of Saiyans. He first appears during the World Tournament Arc, where he offers to train Redder. Later, during the fight with Jose, Redder takes up the offer. Murtaugh eventually becomes Redder's personal trainer. He was one of the 200 19th God of Destruction canidates, along with his old rival, Jose.
Appearence[]
Murtaugh takes the appearence of a fairly tall, middle-aged man with slicked back shoulder length orange hair. He has a large amount of stubble growing around his chin and nose. He is seen wearing a large amount of training bandages, similar to Redder, though he also wears heavy-plated armor on his right arm and left leg. Around his waist he wears a wrestler champ-style belt, along with loose dark pants. His most defining feature is his long tattered cape, which usually has a equally tattered high color. This cape usually covers most of his body. Armored shoulderpads also adorn this cape.

Murtaugh has a very honest, childlike personality. He is seen getting ridiculously excited about average things such as snowcones or even escalators. Despite this, Murtaugh is very warmharted and kind, and shows constant interest in what he calls "the next generation of warriors". Despite this earnest side, Murtaugh has been seen having a particularly large and violent pervy streak, being easily distracted by a large rack, good hair, and other defining charateristics of a woman. He claims to have at least 13 girlfriends in the past nine years, though he only married one.
Powers and Abilities[]
Murtaugh has been shown to have extraordinary Ki control, being able to conrol his flight speed and Ki exertion at a near perfect level. Murtaugh is rarely shown to fight in the series, though even when he does details are rarely shown. All that is known is that Murtaugh carries a sword which he coats with Ki, increasing his dealable damage quota. Murtaugh can also deflect attacks like the 20th God of Destruction's planet-sized ki blasts rather easily, though he freely admits that the amount of Ki on the planet he is currently on during a fight also plays a large factor. Due to this, it is assumed Murtaugh draws his Ki reserves from the life around him.
