Ms. Kairyupin (カイリュピン 先生, Kairyupin Sensei) is a human native to North City. She was the science teacher in Ryori and Ledas' make-up summer school program to complete seventh grade in Age 774. She is a secondary character in the West City Saga of Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon.

Ms. Kairyupin is a woman of slightly above-average height and average weight. She has long wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She tends to wear dresses with flower patterns (purple and white being her favorite).
Personality[]
Ms. Kairyupin is considered by her students to be a fairly boring teacher, as she mostly reads her lectures verbatim from her PowerPoint slides. Ledas in particular doesn't like her teaching style. While she can be a somewhat stern woman in the classroom, she genuinely enjoys her job and likes the seventh-graders. She loves cooking and watching soap operas in her off-time. After her pot of yellow curry boiled over, she flips out and spews a profanity-laced rant. She does not handle stress well. She despises tardiness from her students and fellow teachers, as seen in chapter 11 when she gets pissed at Ms. Mahobi for calling in sick just before her class, forcing Kairyupin to cover for her. She is the harshest grader of the teachers. She is fairly traditional, considering a student dyeing their hair to be a grave sin. Offering to set up a session with Ledas and the school therapist after Ledas revealed his mother was dead shows she has a soft side.

On May 30, Age 774, Ledas and Ryori attended their first day of classes, meeting Mr. Takkuro, Ms. Kairyupin, and Ms. Mahobi for the first time, along with their fellow students, Chiwan, Hachi, Azashi, Chiaki, Tabashi, and Ippi. After the teachers' introductions, Takkuro and Kairyupin left Mahobi to lead the first lesson of the day.
During class, Ms. Kairyupin began her lesson. Shortly after roll call, she paused the lesson, asking Ledas to accompany her to the nurse's office. The kids murmured amongst themselves. Ms. Kairyupin popped into the teachers' lounge and asked Mr. Takkuro to fill in for her. In the nurse's office, Kairyupin asked Nurse Mojisha to fetch the hair dye analyzer. Ledas told her his hair wasn't dyed (merely getting lighter in the West City sunlight), but his teacher didn't buy it. Nurse Mojisha returned with the device. Kairyupin asked Ledas what his mother thought of his act of rebellion. Ledas told her she was dead, so she wasn't thinking anything. Kairyupin tried to empathize with him, offering him a session with the school therapist, but Ledas rejected the offer, maintaining his bodily autonomy.
Mojisha ran the device, which read "no dye". Unconvinced, Kairyupin demanded a second reading, but it produced the same result. Kairyupin was embarrassed and apologized. Ledas wasn't satiated, telling her that it wasn't her business even if he did dye his hair. Kairyupin rebuked him, telling Ledas that if he continued to backtalk her, she would give him detention. They returned to the classroom, Ledas seething.
On June 1st, Mr. Takkuro taught the seventh-graders math. Ledas was able to complete the assignment without cheating, though he was clearly injured from sparring with Vegeta. His condition deteriorated during Ms. Mahobi's lecture. During Ms. Kairyupin's lecture, he nearly revealed his game by blowing wind around the room when he awkwardly landed back in his chair. Nobody noticed except Ryori, who stifled his laughter with a hand over his face.
That night, Ms. Kairyupin returned to her apartment (the doorman letting her in) with groceries. Chiwan, Ryori, and Ledas followed her inside, Chiwan lying to the doorman that their mother had sent them out for kaffir leaves. The doorman let them in, not wanting to be interrupted from watching a baseball game. They got off the elevator on the fourth floor and moved to the utility closet. Ledas broke down the door. Ryori set some paper on fire inside a plastic bag and threw it inside, closing the door. When smoke began seeping out from underneath the door, he pulled the fire alarm, then hid behind a vending machine while Ledas and Chiwan hid behind a trash can.
In her apartment, Ms. Kairyupin prepared a pot of yellow curry chicken while watching a soap opera (The Youthful and the Anxious). The fire alarm went off, causing Kairyupin to flee out the door, running down the stairs with her fellow flatmates. After everyone cleared out, Ledas, Ryori, and Chiwan entered her apartment, searching for the ecology test answer key. They eventually found it, but by then, Kairyupin returned to her apartment, the fire scare done and dealt with. On their hands and knees, they scurried into her bedroom as she reached the kitchen. They hid in the bathroom. Kairyupin followed them in, taking several cleaning sprays from beneath the sink to clean up her pot of curry that had boiled over the kitchen, ranting and cursing. The kids snuck out her bathroom window shortly afterward, utilizing Ledas' ability to fly, leaving their teacher none the wiser.
At school the next day, Ms. Kairyupin entered her office only to notice it was freezing inside. She noticed the gap in the window.
On June 3rd, Ms. Kairyupin was late to class. Ippi wanted to ditch after fifteen minutes. Tabashi told her they couldn't leave no matter how late she was. Chiaki and Ledas were willing to bail, but Chiwan warned them they'd get detention if they left. Kairyupin flung open the door, red-faced and sweating, apologizing for her tardiness. The copier had gone wonky, so she had been forced to switch to a different version of the ecology test. The kids realized they had studied a version of the test they were no longer taking, and in horror, had to deal with the fact they weren't prepared for the real test. At school the next day, Ms. Kairyupin entered her office only to notice it was freezing inside. She noticed the gap in the window.
On June 8th, after Ledas showed up to class dressed head-to-toe in bandages and casts, Ms. Kairyupin entered the room, beginning her lesson for the day.
On June 17th, after Ms. Kairyupin's lesson ended, she received a text from someone (which seemed to massively irritate her). She informed the class Ms. Mahobi wasn't feeling well, so she'd be filling in for her during the history lesson that day—a documentary by Jimmy Firecracker about Mr. Satan's fight against Cell: ‘Hail Satan: World Hero or World’s Biggest Fraud?’. Firecracker claimed that Mr. Satan might not have defeated Cell, which offended Ryori. Kairyupin told them they'd be writing a three-page double-spaced response to be submitted next Monday, so they'd have to take notes. After starting the video, Kairyupin texted a response to Mahobi, and judging by her facial expressions, she was pissed.
On June 24th, after the seventh-graders finished their last in-class essay, everyone returned to the room, including the other teachers, as the class celebrated the end of their last day by eating cake and watching a low-budget movie Mr. Takkuro had a small role in as a cop. Afterward, they were released from class.
