The Mo'o 'Ala are the alternate version of the Dragon Balls inside the story Mo'o 'Ala- The Mighty Primate King. Though functioning in nearly the same way, there are many noticeable differences.

Mo'o 'ala

The five Mo'o 'Ala

Creation[]

Unlike their mainstream counterparts, the Mo'o 'Ala were not created by an otherworldly Namekian, but rather by the gods themselves, one for each main god and goddess: Kane (One Star), Ku (Two Star), Kanaloa (Three Star), Lono (Four Star), and Pele (Five Star). They were each created as a fail-safe mechanism after Kane placed proto-humans on Earth, should the humans ever need to detain them without the help of the gods. Their gathering and the uttering of a specific sacred chant would summon a powerful Mo'o (dragon) second only to the gods themselves, granting the summoner one wish.

Wish Limitations[]

Unlike the Dragon Balls, the Mo'o 'Ala are nearly devoid of limitations. This could be applied from the concept in Dragon Ball that Shenron cannot surpass the power of his creator and could only do what was in his power. The Mo'o 'Ala were created by five deities together, making their power seemingly limitless. The same wish can be done as many times as necessary. The main shortcoming, however, is that they cannot defy the power of the gods or grant the power of a god to a mortal.

After Wishes[]

The Mo'o 'Ala, similarly to the Dragon Balls, rise up in the air as the great Mo'o transforms into a beam of light. The Mo'o 'Ala then disappear in a flash along with the Mo'o. The stones are transported to each of their creators respectively, making it their decision what to do with it, whether it be holding onto it or scattering it upon the planet Ao. They cannot, however, destroy the stone unless all five deities agree upon that decision, and even then they must be gathered together before being destroyed.

The Mo'o 'Ala don't store negative energy from wishes; the mana (magic) of the gods is too pure to be corrupted by just a wish.

Role[]

Inside the story of Mo'o 'Ala- The Mighty Primate King, the Mo'o 'Ala achieve a founding and titular role in the story. Palema'i had been on a quest for the Mo'o 'Ala when she met Ra in the first place, starting off the entire plot of the first Saga. Later, after being rescued by Maui, the hunt for the Mo'o 'Ala becomes the main story line for Palema'i and Ra as they set out to use them to stop the United Haole Nations.
