Mason is Arashi's childhood friend and the first victim of Arashi's Phoenix Wave. Mason met Arashi in heaven and the two were granted life again. They spent most of their time together and Mason died in a battle with Arashi due to Arashi's Phoenix Wave. Mason is supposedly dead but can be argued that he is indeed alive because an adult Mason, or Mason's Phantom, came to the aid of Arashi in a dire situation in which he was about to be killed. A reccuring question within the story is whether Mason understands Arashi's longstanding pain after his death and feels no malice or holds a grudge towards his former friend.
