This page lists the tertiary characters who appear in Monkeyboy's First Vacation.

West City pedestrians[]

In the first scene of chapter 1, on June 5, Age 776, several pedestrians were out and about as Jia, Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas made their way to their new home. Later, when Jia called Nhobusa from the front yard, she noticed activity in the city was picking up, with more hover cars and pedestrians around.

Bulma[]

In the second scene of chapter 1, on June 7, Age 776, Ledas visited Capsule Corp. He sensed Vegeta training in the gravity chamber, while Bulma was in the kitchen. After spooking her (which she did not appreciate), he asked if she'd finished the age adjusters for him, Ryori, and Shoekki. She took him to her lab, where she revealed they had been completed several days back. She gave him the capsules, which he was extremely grateful for. Ledas grew emotional, noting that this would be the first time since his encounter with The Benefactor and Lauto in Lauto's cave (which had taken place thirty-one years prior) that he could age again properly. He promised to lend a hand if she needed help in the lab before leaving.

Chiwan[]

In the second scene of chapter 2, on June 7 Age 776, Ledas returned home from Capsule Corp. with his new age adjuster (which could properly morph his body into his correct age, which he'd set to 15 to match Ryori's). Stepping foot inside, he was ambushed by a crowd of people shouting "Surprise!". Chiwan, Hachi, Chiaki, Tabashi, Azashi, Ippi, Ryori, and Jia were there. Ryori ran over, noticing he was wearing his age adjuster, commenting that Ledas looked great. Ledas was flustered, unaware that it was his birthday. He didn't want to celebrate, but Ryori was able to convince him to have a chill afternoon hanging out with friends, feasting and playing video games, which he found appealing. The teenagers spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out, bonding, and eating as much food as they could stomach.

Hachi[]

Chervil's tribe[]

In the third scene of chapter 1, on June 7, Age 776, Nhobusa, Vestigia, and Zeshmedinokov were monitoring the camera feeds at the Kedarake Observatory in Asazari (an island in the Crimson Fingers) when Chervil and his gang of Makyans arrived. Nhobusa reminded his soldiers that Chervil and his ilk were not their enemies and to not do anything rash. Chervil entered with a retinue of warriors, asking Nhobusa why he had been summoned. Nhobusa informed him that Ledas would soon be coming to the Crimson Fingers. He told Chervil that until Zesh finished the updated ki-restraining device, he'd have to face Ledas.

Chervil was unconcerned, believing himself superior to the boy. He demanded six times as many human prisoners for his tribe to feast on for the month, requiring some of them to be natives, not just tourists. Nhobusa promised him what he wished, saying that agents Morucan and Tresparson would meet Chervil at the island of Umihebiza tomorrow with the first batch. Chervil swore he'd kill Ledas. Nhobusa didn't want him to attack the boy as soon as he arrived, preferring that they ambushed him a few days into the trip to lull him into a false sense of security. The groups said their goodbyes, the Makyans leaving almost as swiftly as they had come.

In the second scene of chapter 2, on June 10, Age 776, Ryori and Ledas arrived at the southern coast of Umihebiza. After exploring the immediate area, they flew to the center of the island, where Ledas had sensed faint power levels he'd assumed were humans. From a rocky overlook, they watched a procession of men making their way through the grass. Using his phone's camera, Ryori spotted the men in the back were chained together. They were being led by a pair of guys wearing suits.

From the other side, a host of skinchangers appeared, landing in front of the group, spreading out. Ledas noted with a certain level of panic he couldn't sense them. He prepared to confront them, telling Ryori he'd laid invisible ki traps around him so that if anyone came for him, he'd be alerted. Though he wasn't convinced that'd save him, Ryori was eager to see Ledas fight for real.

Ledas flew down, landing between the humans and the skinchangers, startling everyone. The men hauling the prisoners immediately recognized Ledas, freaking out. Ledas asked who the chained people were, but the men in suits wouldn't answer. A prisoner begged for Ledas to save him and his friends. Ledas noted that the other group was comprised of skinchangers. He resolved to deal with them first. One of the suited men thought he had no chance against them.

Ledas confronted the Makyans, challenging them to a battle to the death. Their group, led by Tarrago, took him on without flinching. With a punch, a tail blast to the shoulder, and a front-flip-kick, Ledas took out their leader, turning his attention to the lesser skinchanger. They charged him down. He dodged them with his eyes closed. When Tarrago rose again and fired a blast at him, he countered with a Kyorra Flash. Ledas' attack overwhelmed Tarrago, frying him to death. Enraged, his crew attacked Ledas. They put up little resistance, taking no more than a blow or two apiece before falling.

In the sixth scene, on June 11th, Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas visited the Sepiche ruins in Raskintown. They explored the town, visiting the depleted iridium mine, the marketplace, and the docks before coming to the Sepiche ruins. Mr. Ohano had a grand old time playing the tour guide, telling them all about the sculptures and how they got there, not to mention why the Sepiche had gone extinct (allegedly).

Without warning, Chervil and his skinchangers appeared, Chervil kicking Ledas into a Sepiche statue. He swore he'd get revenge for Ledas killing Tarrago. The pedestrians in the immediate area fled in terror. Chervil attacked Ledas, who retaliated with grim focus, shattering one of his arms and sending him into a tree. He told everyone to stay back, promising he had everything under control. Not wasting time (for his friends and lover were threatened), Ledas hunted down Chervil's retinue, killing every one of them with a singular blow. Chervil tried to shoot an energy blast at them, but Ledas rushed him, squeezing his wrist, forcing the ki to shoot into the sky. Battering him, Ledas threw him into a tree. Boasting stupidly, the Makyan limped away, shooting a ki blast into the ground to mask his escape.

Ryori and the others ran over, asking if he was okay. Ledas was, though he remained on guard. Mr. Ohano was stunned by what he had witnessed. Ryori provided cover, saying Ledas had been trained since he had been little and was immensely powerful (not to mention what he'd shown in chapter 1 by capturing that bluefin tuna). Ledas swore he wouldn't leave before destroying every last skinchanger, for the bounties were enticing. Mrs. Ohano and Shoekki were at a loss for words as Ledas threw a capsule to the ground, revealing a storage container. He piled up the bodies to take in for big zeni.

In the first scene of chapter 3, on June 12, Age 776, Nhobusa, Vestigia, and Zeshmedinokov met with Chervil and a host of his minions. Chervil wanted to know why Nhobusa had summoned him. Nhobusa admitted that after his fight with Ledas in the Sepiche ruins, they needed to change strategies, or they'd lose badly. Chervil swore it had been an unlucky break, promising to kill Ledas in their next encounter. Nhobusa was concerned about his broken arm (Chervil claimed it was sprained).

Nhobusa informed him Zesh's ki-restraining device was almost complete. Once applied to the boy, Chervil would have no problem defeating him. He outlined their plan to abduct Ledas after he drunkenly partied at the Kurenai Natsumatsuri festival (if Rambutala needed to goad him to drink, he'd be there to do so). Afterward, they'd bring him to Kedarake where Chervil could have his way with the boy.

Chervil didn't understand why Nhobusa wouldn't kill the boy himself, but Nhobusa said that they couldn't be sure due to his durable skin and inhuman reflexes, which the ki-restraining device would not be able to limit. He told Chervil about their contingency plan to use a repurposed intercontinental ballistic missile to shoot him into the sun should all other paths prove fruitless. Chervil didn't want to hear it. He would end Ledas' life. Nhobusa told him to be back later that night. They'd have Ledas ready for him. He would give Chervil's gang a load of prisoners as a reward if they did this for him. Satisfied, Chervil whistled to his crew and they departed in a blur of light.

In the second scene of chapter 4, on June 13 Age 776, Nhobusa ordered Zesh to wake Jia and Ledas. Zesh injected them with a serum to remove the sedatives from their systems. They stirred, growing confused when they got their bearings straight. Ledas didn't know where he was. Nhobusa told him that didn't matter, as he'd be dead soon. He told him the New Red Ribbon Army did not forget what he had done to them. Ledas would pay for those he'd killed.

When the boy got to his feet, Zesh turned on the ki-restraining device, sending an electrical charge through his body. He fell to his knees, crying in pain as his own ki was used against him. Jia called him a monster. Nhobusa sarcastically welcomed her back to the realm of the living. She reminded him King Furry had ordered them to stand down against Ledas, but Nhobusa wasn't having it. He didn't take orders from Furry and would soon overthrow him if things went according to plan.

He ordered Rambutala to record Jia's meltdown so they could watch it later while sipping champagne. He told Jia she had been naive to fall to their simple trick in the Ohano house. Her betrayal would have karmic repercussions. Ledas didn't understand how she knew these men. Jia admitted they were colleagues. Nhobusa clarified that she was a member of the New Red Ribbon Army. Their main goal since Age 774 had been finding a way to kill Ledas. She had known about it the whole time. Nhobusa tried to turn Ledas against her, but he wasn't having it, saying he trusted Jia completely and wouldn't fall for their crap.

Nhobusa admitted that after Cardinal had died, he had become the New Red Ribbon Army's leader. Jia reported directly to him. Ledas was startled to hear of Cardinal's demise. Rambu found it hilarious Jia hadn't told him about it. Nhobusa questioned why Jia hadn't told Ledas about the plan to kidnap him that night, as she had known about it beforehand. He wasn't swayed, saying he'd talk with her about it after killing them. Nhobusa wasn't concerned, thinking Ledas couldn't harm them with Zesh's ki-restraining device impairing him.

Zesh increased the device's power, causing an electrical field to form around Ledas, frying his body with his own energy. He fell to the ground screaming. Jia begged them to stop hurting him. Nhobusa reminded her that they were getting revenge for Ledas killing Cardinal, Oscalpano, Dewberry, Kindler, Morucan, Tresparson, and all the rest. There would be no peace, no reconciliation. Jia didn't understand why they were torturing Ledas instead of just shooting him or throwing him into the ocean, but Nhobusa dismissed her concerns, stating there was only one way they could kill him for certain (as the ki-restraining device didn't remove Ledas' muscles, reaction time, and general durability).

He whistled. A moment later, Chervil and a host of his elite soldiers two dozen strong entered the room. Nhobusa shook Chervil's hand while Jia gawked at him. Nhobusa gave the order for the Makyan to kill the boy. Chervil was most eager to oblige, for he was avenging those of his people Ledas had killed. Nhobusa implored Jia to watch as Rambutala tossed her away from the action. Chervil's minions formed a circle around him and Ledas. Ledas rose to his feet despite the pain he was feeling, facing his opponent with tenacious resolve. Ledas told Chervil he had no hope of beating him, which the Makyan laughed off as childish hubris.

Chervil elbowed him, beginning their cataclysmic fight. Ledas retaliated with an uppercut (much of the room was destroyed in the process). The pair exchanged blows, leveling severe hits upon one another without letting up. Nhobusa was surprised Ledas could keep up with Chervil even with the ki-restraining device operating at nearly maximum power. Neither one had much defense. They took a lot of hits. The telescope was destroyed during their clash, which made Nhobusa wince. He knew that'd require a lot of zeni to replace.

Because of Chervil's broken hand, he had to work extra hard to hit and parry, and it wasn't long before his stamina was running low. As time wore on, Ledas got the better of the exchanges, landing blow after decisive blow against his opponent. It wasn't long before Chervil was running on fumes. He approached the Saiyan after taking a bad hit, goading him. Ledas didn't answer, instead throwing himself at the Makyan once more. They rose into the air, exchanging blows at a rate Nhobusa couldn't comprehend. What he could see confirmed his worst fear—Ledas had more stamina, more power, more discipline, and probably more experience. He was slowly wearing away at the King of the Demons. He realized Ledas would've destroyed Chervil had the ki-restraining device not been active.

Having had enough, Chervil fired an icy blast of ki from his mouth at Ledas, who didn't attempt to block it. The attack rolled over him, encasing him in a frosty prison, freezing him solid. Chervil took a victory lap to the applause of his crew. Jia became hysterical. The other demons praised Chervil's cunning. Chervil said Ledas hadn't known who he was dealing with, causing him to pay the ultimate price.

As if on cue, the floor rumbled, the air grew hot, and Ledas burst from his icy tomb with an echoing scream. Furiously, he called Chervil a cheap shot artist and a coward, demanding he fight him for real. Chervil wasn't one to take orders. He powered up his Freezing Breath again. Ledas charged him down, mirroring his previous action.

However, when Chervil unleashed his attack, Ledas back-flipped, rising to the air, and created a pearlescent half-bubble of energy to deflect the attack. He shot a kiai through the bubble to angle the attack right back at Chervil, entombing him in ice. Without remorse, Ledas smashed Chervil across the face with a spinning back heel, shattering his head and killing him. His minions were most upset. They attacked at once, though he tore through them with ease, taking only a blow or two to eliminate each one in a whirlwind of attacks.

Old fishermen[]

In the fourth scene of chapter 1, on June 8, Age 776, Jia, Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas took a plane from West City to South City where they boarded a boat to take them to the Crimson Fingers (as there were no airports down there). A pair of old fishermen would take them down. One explained that few people went to the Crimson Fingers this time of year, as most tourists usually left a week earlier to catch both the Kurenai Harumatsuri and Kurenai Natsumatsuri celebrations, so they'd be the only passengers.

Shoekki passed the time talking with the fishermen and helping them catch dinner, while Jia read a book or was glued to her phone and Ledas and Ryori played multiplayer racing games on their Switches. They had swordfish sushi and miso soup for dinner, along with saké. Everyone got fairly drunk (the boys weren't allowed to drink more than one serving, but Shoekki snuck them extra cups), having a great time while the sailors told outlandish stories.

The next morning, everyone had scrambled eggs for breakfast. Soon after, the island of Hosomaki appeared in the distance. The sailors dropped them off at the port, Jia giving them a tip before leaving.

Crimson Fingers natives[]

In the fourth scene of chapter 1, on June 9, Age 776 many Hosomaki natives were seen in the island's port when Jia, Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas arrived. Merchants, sailors, and natives alike were going about their days. Several sailors were in Ohano's when the gang visited. In the sixth scene, that night, several natives and tourists were at the Sea of Clouds Onsen Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas visited. None were in the same pool as them, however.

In the third scene of chapter 2, on June 10, Age 776, Ledas and Ryori along with Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Jia, and Shoekki, visited the Asazari Wildlife Preserve. There were many people there, most of whom were tourists. Some were natives.

In the fifth scene, on June 11th, Mr. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas participated in a fishing tradition that occurred every year just before the start of the Kurenai Natsumatsuri. They gathered in Raskintown on the eastern beach with all of the other men. The elders passed out spearguns to everyone involved. The village chief gave a speech, thanking everyone for taking part in a most sacred rite. He advised everyone to catch as many fish as they could for the festival, for there would be many hungry people. He also told them to be wary of sharks and to use their spearguns in defense if necessary. Then, he unleashed them into the sea. Mr. Ohano, Shoekki, and the rest of them rushed out eagerly.

In the sixth scene, later that day, many natives and tourists were around when Chervil and his goons attacked Ledas in the Sepiche ruins. They fled in terror at the sight of the butchery.

In the second scene of chapter 3, on June 12, Age 776, Mr. Ohano sent Ryori and Ledas into the Hosomaki marketplace to pick up some things for him (as he was preparing to cook a large amount of food for that night's Kurenai Natsumatsuri). There were many natives and tourists out and about. In the third scene, tons of natives and tourists were at the Kurenai Natsumatsuri having a grand old time.

In the fifth scene of chapter 4, on June 13, Age 776, Ledas arrived at Ohano's just in time to witness a group of customers leaving a few minutes before closing time. Around a dozen patrons were still inside. They left at 10:00 a.m. when the bar closed.

In the first scene of chapter 5, on June 14, Age 776, there were many natives and tourists out and about as Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas toured Raskintown. A lot of people were in Tikupau celebrating the closing ceremony of the Kurenai Natsumatsuri, partying, drinking, socializing, dancing, getting their faces painted, and having a great time. In the third scene, the next day, there were natives and tourists alike on the whale-watching boat.

Tourists[]

In the fourth scene of chapter 1, on June 9, Age 776 tourists were amongst those seen in the island's port when Jia, Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas arrived. In the sixth scene, that night, several natives and tourists were at the Sea of Clouds Onsen Shoekki, Ryori, and Ledas visited. None were in the same pool as them, however.

Dragons of the Dawn[]

In the first scene of chapter 2, on June 10, Age 776, Ryori and Ledas went on an adventure to hunt skinchangers. Ryori rode on Ledas' back as the Saiyan flew off into the sky, going west instead of south, which confused Ryori (as he'd assumed they were headed to Umihebiza). Before long, they came across a castle-like protrusion rising from the ocean. This was the castle Ryori's grandfather had talked about the previous day.

They touched down, Ryori fearfully clinging to Ledas. He was scared of the skinchangers snatching him. The castle was in rough shape. In the courtyard they landed in, Ledas became fixated upon what looked like an apple tree growing in the middle. Ledas told Ryori he had sensed power levels coming from this place, believing them to be the skinchangers. He admitted the people who lived here were watching them, so he shouted for them to reveal themselves (lest he blow the place to dust). Ledas wasn't concerned with them; he wondered what the fruit of that tree tasted like. Ryori tried to stop him, thinking the fruit might be poisoned.

Just then, a group of hooded individuals appeared on the other side of the courtyard. Ledas walked over to them, saying he was here to collect their bounties. Their leader approached Ledas, revealing his face—blue-skinned with a white mohawk, just like the legends described the skinchangers. He confessed he was a member of the skinchangers' species but was not one of them. The skinchangers and his people had had a falling out and were opposed to one another. The tribe of the fallen, as he described them, lived on the southern island of Umihebiza. He promised that not every member of his species, which he called the Makyans, was evil.

He revealed his organization was called the Dragons of the Dawn and that they were opposed to the skinchangers, though they were unable to defeat them due to a severe numbers disadvantage. The Dragon was not opposed to Ledas attacking the skinchangers, as he considered them a disgrace to the Makyan race. He implored Ledas not to destroy the innocent Makyans, however. He gave no promises. The Dragon stated he and his kind had sensed that this day would come, that someone would appear to help them. Ledas didn't care about that. He promised to kill them too if people continued disappearing from the Crimson Islands after he dealt with those on Umihebiza.

The Dragon told him that the government outpost on Asazari (the SAARO division) provided the skinchangers with captured humans whom they tortured and ate. He warned Ledas about them, though the Saiyan wasn't sure he was telling the truth. He would have to check that out for himself. Before leaving, he snagged a couple fruits from the tree, tossing one to Ryori. Ryori only ate his because Ledas took a bite first. Ryori followed him, feeling the alcoholic effects immediately. Jumping on Ledas' back, he succumbed to the euphoria, smirking and having a grand old time as they raced off into the air to their next target.

In the fifth scene of chapter 4, on June 13, Age 776, Ledas met with the Dragons of the Dawn at Garlic Castle. He'd stolen an apple before talking to them. He told them he'd eliminated Chervil and his gang, although he was unsure if any other malevolent Makyans remained. The head Dragon thanked him, promising to repay him at some point in the future. They believed they could handle the remaining Makyans, though if any became as powerful as Chervil, they'd contact Ledas. He was down with that so long as they paid him with a basket of their demonic alcoholic apples. The bowed, thanking him. He left in an awkward burst of speed.

Captured pirate crew[]

In the second scene of chapter 2, on June 10, Age 776, Ryori and Ledas arrived at the southern coast of Umihebiza. After exploring the immediate area, they flew to the center of the island, where Ledas had sensed faint power levels he'd assumed were humans. Enraged, his crew attacked Ledas. They put up little resistance, taking no more than a blow or two apiece before falling.

The suited men panicked, throwing capsules to the ground, revealing Battle Suits that they jumped into. Ledas was bored of them, and more importantly, freezing cold, so he air-dashed through their mechs, killing them before they could land a hit. Afterward, he vaporized the prisoners' chains, telling them to go back to wherever they had come from (or steal the suited men's boat).

Hosomaki village chief[]

In the fifth scene, on June 11, Age 776, Mr.

In the third scene of chapter 3, on the evening of June 12, Age 776, Ledas and Ryori participated in an all-you-can-eat competition during the Kurenai Natsumatsuri. They took their seats at a large table with the other contestants (around 80 people in total), Ledas struggling to sit still. He was too hungry, too excited.

After what felt like an eternity, the village elders entered the tent. One of the guys behind the chief elder was the man who'd led them on the speargun swim the day before. The chief elder, who was quite old and leaned on a cane, gave a short speech. Ledas hardly listened, for he was too impatient to begin the feast. Once it was over, everyone sans Ledas applauded and the servers came out with the first course—halibut with rice and a fruit medley. They had five minutes per course. And so it began.

Ledas scarfed his food down, as did everyone else. It came as no surprise that there weren't any DQs during the first course. The second course was grilled marlin with chopped carrots, sprouts, and a mango chutney. Nobody DQ'd on that one, either. He knew it wouldn't be long before they started dropping like flies, however. The third course was fried chicken skewers with pineapples and potatoes. A good amount of people DQ'd on this course, including Ryori. Thankfully, those who lost were allowed to remain behind to cheer on their friends and family.

58 out of 81 contestants made it past round three. The fourth course was pork stew with potatoes, onions, peppers, and pineapples. A lot of people couldn't make it through this round, though Ledas had no trouble. 22 made it to round five, which consisted of five spicy pork tacos per contestant. Most people had trouble with the spice. Even Ledas, who considered himself a prince amongst spiceboys, thought it was incredibly hot. Only nine people made it to round 6, which consisted of whitefish sliders. Ledas began feeling the strain, cursing himself for having so much ramen for lunch.

Just Ledas and a man by the name of Debu Debu made it past that round. The next round consisted of beef ramen, which they easily got through. The eighth course featured bowls of fried calamari rings. Ledas tried his best, though he hated how squid tasted. He couldn't get very many rings down before calling it quits (his belly wasn't full), making sure not to say the food was bad, even though he abhorred it. The chief elder asked him if he was sure, as there was time remaining. Ledas confirmed he was bowing out, refusing to eat another bite of calamari. Debu Debu was declared the Iron Stomach. He celebrated voraciously. Many contestants ran over to congratulate him.

Kenpichi[]

In the second scene of chapter 3, on June 12, Age 776, Ledas, Shoekki, and Ryori were hanging out in Ohano's after it closed. Mr. Ohano and his assistant manager, a man by the name of Kenpichi, appeared, carrying trays of ramen noodles for the boys. There were many bowls for Ledas. After serving them, Kenpichi returned to the kitchen while Mr. Ohano lingered behind.

Machiburo[]

In the second scene of chapter 3, on June 12, Age 776, Mr. Ohano sent Ryori and Ledas into the Hosomaki marketplace to pick up some things for him (as he was preparing to cook a large amount of food for that night's Kurenai Natsumatsuri). They went to Machiburo's for the meat, Ryori feeling nostalgic upon visiting that store again after so many years.

Unnamed cashier[]

In the second scene of chapter 3, on June 12, Age 776, Mr. Ohano sent Ryori and Ledas into the Hosomaki marketplace to pick up some things for him (as he was preparing to cook a large amount of food for that night's Kurenai Natsumatsuri). Eventually, they came upon the shop he and Shoekki had stolen from as little kids (back when money had been scarce). They were just there for jerky (promise). At the counter, Ryori noticed the erotic magazines flanking the wall. He asked Ledas to snatch the gay one. Since they weren't old enough to buy it outright, he'd have to steal it. Ledas refused to steal it, saying he'd leave zeni on the counter after snatching it. Ryori didn't care. Ledas did as he was told, using his speed to take the magazine without the cashier noticing.

Saké referee[]

In the third scene of chapter 3, on the evening of June 12, Age 776, Ledas and Ryori participated in a saké competition during the Kurenai Natsumatsuri. The referee ran the competition, blowing his whistle to start it, and watched the entrants closely to make sure they drank at least one shot per minute (or he'd disqualify them).

Kebab enthusiast[]

In the third scene of chapter 3, on the evening of June 12, Age 776, after Ledas and Ryori participated in the saké contest, they left the area. A man approached them with a kebab in his hand. He offered them some. They declined. He recommended they get skewers for themselves before the kitchen closed down. That would happen after the fireworks. He walked off.

New Red Ribbon Army soldiers[]

In the fourth scene of chapter 4, on June 13, Age 776, after Ledas asked Jia if there were any additional NRRA operatives beyond Nhobusa, Zeshmedinokov, Vestigia, and Rambutala. She confirmed there were low-level New Red Ribbon Army soldiers in the outpost. Ledas flew off with haste (he didn't have much time), destroying them as fast as he could, returning less than a minute later. With that, the New Red Ribbon Army was officially no more.

John Edward Melendez[]

In the fifth scene of chapter 4, on June 13, Age 776, after leaving the bathroom in Ohano's, Ryori and Ledas came upon a deadbeat alcoholic at a table who called himself the Duke of the Docks. He asked them if vegetables go bad. Ryori sarcastically replied that that was a great question and he should just try the vegetables in question. He'd be good, most likely. The Duke bragged about bulking up before reading several super chats. The trolls were trolling, and he was having a bad time. The man spit and ranted at them for daring to challenge his highness. The Duke made a trumpeting sound with his hands, chatting with the people sending him messages. Ledas and Ryori left him, returning to the table.

Bobo[]

In the first scene of chapter 5, on June 14, Age 776, Ledas and Ryori were chilling at the Kurenai Natsumatsuri closing festival in Tikupau, Raskintown. After getting their plates of food, Ryori and Ledas found a table. As they were eating, a burly fellow lumbered over, sitting at their table. He pigged out, making the boys struggle to keep their composure. The man asked them if they'd heard any calls last night. They didn't know what he was talking about. He said that the sasquatches had been howling last night, explaining that they were large ape-like beings that inhabited the forests of Raskintown.

The man demonstrated a sasquatch woop for them. Ryori applauded sarcastically, asking if he'd ever seen a squatch before. The man swore he had. His life's goal was to capture one on video or collect a DNA sample to prove to the world they were real. Ledas asked what they looked like. When the man described their simian proportions, the troll in Ledas came out. He said he knew of an ape who only came out during the full moon. The man believed him, citing old folklore.

Ryori nudged Ledas, asking him to finish his food so they could get away from the deranged guy and get face-painted. Ledas was down for that. They jumped up, abandoning the guy, and made their way to the face-painting tent.

Raskintown face painters[]

In the first scene of chapter 5, on June 14, Age 776, these people painted the faces of everyone who wanted to take part in the tradition during the closing ceremony of the Kurenai Natsumatsuri at Tikupau, Raskintown. Ledas and Ryori were amongst those who got their faces painted.

Happu[]

In the first scene of chapter 5, on June 14, Age 776, after returning from the forest (where Ledas had shown Ryori his Great Ape form), Ledas and Ryori found Shoekki and Jia at a table with a group of sailors and joined them. A sailor regaled a story of how his father had coaxed a woman into his bed to tempt the young boy. When she called him over to her, the father burst out from the closet with a rifle in his hand, chasing his son into the living room to be laughed at by his sailor crew. Jia, Shoekki, and Ryori thought that the woman had been culpable for the events, considering her actions highly immoral.

Shoekki poured everyone another round of saké (Ryori asked for another and was given it). Ryori and Ledas were properly drunk now. Giving in to reckless abandon, Ryori massaged Ledas while everyone continued talking. Another sailor, Happu, described how when he'd get drunk, he'd jump in a shark cage and try to punch a white or a tiger. Happu said that another sailor, Pupuro, had gotten his pinky finger bitten off by a baby tiger shark he'd tried to catch with his bare hands. Everyone drank more, shared more stories, grew rowdier, and had a great time. Ryori continued to massage Ledas, growing more confident.

Beelzebub[]

In the third scene of chapter 5, on June 15, Age 776, Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas went on a whale-watching trip. The Ohanos were on deck with Shoekki (with most of the other passengers) while Ledas and Ryori were in the cabin. Jia joined the boys inside, as it was really cold. Ryori was in rough shape, suffering from seasickness.

Ledas was eating food while talking to Beelzebub on a hand-held device. Ledas told Beelzebub about bounty hunting the skinchangers, making loads of zeni. He had officially completed the Starchasers' second bounty. Beelzebub congratulated him, though he lamented the payment had been in Earth's currency, as that wouldn't help them buy a planet. Ledas asked if he had checked the galactic registry for any high-paying bounties. He confirmed there were several high-level bounties listed that they could go after. Ledas swore he'd be up for the challenge. Beelzebub said he was coming to Earth in a week before they said their goodbyes.

Unnamed fishhead enthusiast[]

In the third scene of chapter 5, on June 15, Age 776, Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas went on a whale-watching trip. After Jia came out of the cabin, she ran into a man who was sitting on the ground, listening to songs on his headphones. As the ship eased to a stop, he cast a fishing line into the sea. He brought in a striped goatfish moments later, cutting off its head and casting the body back into the ocean. He raved about how great the heads were before pocketing it in a stinking pouch and scampering away.

Unnamed couple[]

In the third scene of chapter 5, on June 15, Age 776, Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas went on a whale-watching trip. After Jia came out of the cabin, a nearby couple lamented that the animal preserve on Asazari had been closed before they had had a chance to visit. They threw barbs at one another, exchanging passive-aggressive words.

Curly-haired man[]

In the fourth scene of chapter 5, on June 15, Age 776, after having dinner, Mr. Ohano, Mrs. Ohano, Shoekki, Ryori, Jia, and Ledas climbed up the Pukitehau Trail in Hosomaki. Around the bend, they came across thatch-roofed restrooms. Mr. Ohano told them there wouldn't be another on the way up, so if they had to go, they should go now. Ryori and Ledas left for the restrooms while Shoekki and Jia snuck off to vape together. There was an old guy leaning against the wall of the restrooms when they got there. Ryori didn't pay him any notice.

Inside, they shared a urinal. Ledas was still hyped about the whales, going on and on about how cool the boat ride had been. Ryori agreed, though he bemoaned his seasickness. Ledas told him he wouldn't remember being seasick. They'd treasure those memories forever. Outside, the curly-haired man, who was smoking, admonished them for not greeting him. Ledas rebuked him, saying he wasn't owed anything. The man was appalled, chastising him for talking to his elder in that way. He said their mothers hadn't raised them properly. Ryori said he was rude. At that point, the man made homophobic remarks, which Ledas found pathetic. They left, holding hands, Ledas melting the guy's cigarette with an invisible ki blast.
