Lingon (リンゴン, Ringon) is a Legutholo. Native to the world of Passein, he was raised as soldier in Frieza's Empire until the birth of Kuriza. Due to his patient personality, as well as his high power level, he was promoted to become the boy's bodyguard for the rest of his life, following Kuriza around everywhere from then on. He is a major point-of-view character in The History of the Decline and Fall of the Planet Trade Organization.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Like all Legutholos, Lingon is a tall, brown-skinned alien. His hair, originally black, has turned white with age. He has four fingers on each hand. His eyes are brown and large, and he has exceptional sight, even for his species. Described as squat-faced in Monster, Lingon is no beauty, but he remains in peak physical condition at all times, as stipulated by Frieza, lest he lose his role as Kuriza's bodyguard.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Lingon is an even-tempered individual, not prone to outbursts or snide remarks. His temperament is one of the main reasons he was the one chosen to be Kuriza's bodyguard at the boy's birth. He is fiercely loyal to the Planet Trade Organization, particularly Kuriza, and has gone out of his way to hide secrets from Kuriza's father at the boy's request. A courageous man, he has never for once thought twice about putting his life on the line to save Kuriza, as seen in the third volume of The History of the Decline and Fall of the Planet Trade Organization when he offered his life to Icer if it meant sparing the boy. While he does not consider himself to be very smart, Kuriza has nonetheless used him as part of his council for many years, and he has provided good counsel throughout that time. When he was originally introduced in Monster, Lingon was not very literate, but he improved in the years following, due to watching many of Kuriza's lessons with the teacher Epikail firsthand.
History[edit | edit source]
In this story, Lingon was the guard assigned to Kuriza's room. Kuriza snuck past him to go play in the rain at the start of this story. After being scared by his father's transformation, Kuriza ran back to his room and Lingon. He told Lingon about the monster he'd seen, and Lingon did his best to console the young prince. He also cleaned the mud and water off of Kuriza, then put him to bed. He promised not to tell Frieza about Kuriza staying up all night and playing in the rain.
