"You can do whatever you want. I'm going to go find food. Don't expect me to share."
— Lavera, Day 1

Lavera is a Saiyan who, along with the rest of the platoon, is stranded on Helios and hunted by the Planet Trade Organization in No Way Out.

Lavera, prior to joining the platoon, was one of the most accomplished and respected females in Saiyan society. Since her youth, she had completed numerous planet-clearing missions and had amassed a fair personal fortune from the rewards for her missions. She joins the platoon mostly out of boredom, as the mission presented a challenge for her.

It should be noted that Shallin's sole purpose in joining the platoon was to assess Lavera as a mate. His interest in her soon faded, though, as he came to realize that she was too greatly flawed, both physically and emotionally, to produce proper spawn.

Lavera was among the most powerful of all female Saiyans, with a power level of 2,300. She is also extensively trained and is capable of using almost all typical Saiyan techniques. She also has nearly flawless control of the Great Ape form and is capable of creating a Power Ball. However, Lavera lacks defensive power, her female form inhibiting her defenses by giving her a frailer figure.

Lavera is confident to a fault and sees few others as equal to her. She is oftentimes restless and is commonly the initiator of action in the platoon. She is mostly fearless and (wrongly) does not see the Planet Trade Organization as a threat. Like most of the platoon, she aims to escape the planet they are stranded on, mostly because she wishes to explore the universe freely.

She is rarely friendly to the rest of the platoon and does not see them as significant. However, when they are needed, she is quick to accept their help.

  • Her pun is taken from the vegetable laver, in line with Saiyan nomenclature.
