King Vegeta, more specifically Vegeta III, is the King of the Saiyans and father to Vegeta IV and Tarble. He is also a client-king of the Planet Trade Organization, a title which he usurped from the King of the Tuffles when he lead the Saiyans in their conflict to take over Planet Plant. By taking this role, King Vegeta was able to spare the Saiyan race from direct servitude to King Cold's regime. As the first King of the Saiyans with complete control over a newly-named Planet Vegeta, he created concepts such as the Saiyan class system to mimic Arcosian culture and please his new liege.
He is a minor antagonist in Dragon Ball: Uprising, where he summons Kaido to his court for punishment near the end of the Placement Trials Arc. His name is a pun on the word Vegetable.
Appearance[]
King Vegeta, like most in his royal line, has spiky black hair and a prominent widow's peak. He also sports a goatee, and has an imposing figure that made him a legend even among the largest of Saiyan warriors before the Saiyan-Tuffle War.
While he wore battle armor similar to that of King Cold when that Arcosian lead the Planet Trade Organization, after Frieza took control King Vegeta took to wearing a more customized suit of battle armor that his own Royal Guard now mimic themselves. This suit of armor is white and red, sporting both the Royal Crest and a blue cape. This is still what he wears at during the Age 787's Placement Trials.
