The King piccolo saga is the Eighth story of Dragonball Revision and the second arc of the demon king saga. It features an urgent race to collect the Dragon balls as the malicious "King piccolo" has returned to conquer the world.
Story[]
A Few hours ago, The pilaf gang had found a rice cooker and Unknowingly released the demon king piccolo whilst searching for the dragonballs. The group was very terrified of this strange demon as Pilaf apologizes for bothering him, although the Namekian didn't really pay mind to them. Pilaf then nervously asked if he could help them find the 6 Remaining Dragonballs and help in their conquest of the world, although it seemed like the demon king had other intentions. He decides to birth out an egg containing a Monster known as tambourine and orders him to kill every living being on this planet that could pose a threat to Him. King Piccolo also needs to find the Dragonballs in order to make a wish and decides to play Nice by letting the pilaf gang join him on his quest, which they accept out of fear.
In the stadium, Goku is getting increasingly angry as he holds Krillin's corpse and exclaims that he never deserved this. This anger creates a devastating spark within Goku, With the Thunderous crackle of Lighting striking outside following it. His hair temporarily spikes up and the colour of his hair, body fur and tail flicker golden for a split moment, before it returns back to normal. In a rage, Goku takes his power pole and snatches Bulma's dragon radar before flying off in the flying nimbus. Roshi attempts to warn him about the dangerous of their new foe, but its already too late. Everyone feels concerned about Goku's safety in the face of a new adversary, but Launch notices Roshi trembling in absolute fear at the insignia on the paper. They decide to ask Roshi if he has any clue on what they could be up against and Roshi sighs in reluctance.
Roshi reveals the story of an occurrence known as the “Great demon wars”. Around 300 years ago, the planet had been overrun by invincible green monsters that destroyed and killed Everything in their path. These malicious creatures tore apart most of civilization until they arrived at the Mifan palace of Emperor Mutaito: The father of Roshi and Shen. The empires guards fought valiantly against the Monsters and managed to Kill a few, But nobody from the royal guard had survived the conflict. The remaining Monsters were about to eliminate Prince Roshi and Prince Shen with mouth blasts, but the two royal brothers created an energy shield and deflected the powerful attack that destroyed the monsters. King Piccolo soon revealed himself to the duo and easily Knocked them into the back of the palace.
Luckily, Emperor Mutaito stepped in to Fight King Piccolo and bought enough time for his two sons to escape. The following battle was destructive and Intense, But Emperor Mutaito was ultimately killed with little difficulty. After escaping to the nearest countryside, the two brothers had a falling out as Shen believed that running away is cowardly and they should’ve gone back to assist their father whilst Roshi insisted that it was simply too dangerous. Shen noted that Roshi was never fit to be the true successor to their father and labelled him as a traitor to the Mifan empire, with Roshi choosing to remove himself from the royal Bloodline. The two brothers formed their bitter rivalry and decided to go their separate ways. During King Piccolo's rampage, Roshi managed to seclude himself from civilisation and hid away in Mount Fuji. He dedicated a lot of his time to training and Perfecting his fathers secret technique known as the Mafuba, which has the ability to seal any being away into any type of object.
A few months later, Roshi believed that he was ready to sacrifice his life in order to put an end to King Piccolo's reign. He returned to civilization and Confronted the demon King in a large city, which was in the process of getting destroyed by King Piccolo. Roshi attempted to fight King Piccolo yet he was easily defeated, which prompted him to use the perfected technique. He places the rice cooker on the Ground and unleashes the full power of the Evil containment wave to seal King Piccolo inside the pottery, although it nearly came at the cost of his life. However, It was far too late to prevent any meaningful damage as its estimated that King Piccolo had wiped out 99% of Humanity and left its population in the mere hundreds.
Master roshi believes that the demon King must've been released form his seal with his evidence being that symbol on the piece of paper, which terrifies everyone. However, it appears that Roshi has an idea on a plan that acts as their light of hope: the Mystical Dragon balls. Chiaotzu has seemingly heard a few legends about these mystical orbs and the two ex-bodyguards are informed about Shenron. Bulma uses one of her Dragon radars to locate the Dragon ball and Notices that its Moving, which confuses everyone. It seems that Piccolo is also after the Dragon balls and the clock is now ticking before the doomsday event. The Group decide to split up in order to find the Dragon balls at a faster pace, with them heading outside.
Meanwhile, it appears that Tenshinhans group have managed to gather around 2 Dragon balls compared to King Piccolo’s 1. Along their journey, They encounter a Pirate ship in the ocean that's in possession of the 7-Star Dragon ball. The pirates refuse to hand over their treasure unless they give them a million Zeni in return. Unable to pay, Launch manifests her gun and decides to threaten the pirates for it. This prompts these pirates to draw out their guns in retaliation and begin attacking them, although Chiaotzu is able to freeze their bullets with his psychokinesis. The pirates are terrified of their abilities and reluctantly hand over their Dragonball.
Goku is flying above a lush Jungle in Australia until the dragon radar begins to beep rapidly, noticing that they are close to the perpetrator. He speed up and catch up to the dragon ball, which appears to be in the possession of a winged demon-like creature. Goku calls out to this creature and it suddenly stops in its tracks, before turning its head around 180 degrees to face them. Goku asks if this monster is the cause behind the deaths of those martial artists and his best friend, which The monster confirms and reveals that his name is Tambourine. Goku demands tambourine to give him back HIS Dragon ball and the demon adamantly refuses, claiming that its now “finders-keepers”.
Goku states that Tambourine will pay dearly for this and attempts to swipe at the Monster, but the monster effortlessly avoids the strike. He then proceeds to destroy the flying nimbus with an energy blast and he falls to the ground, although they are quickly able to save themselves after he inflates himself like a balloon and lands safely to the ground. Tambourine comes back down and Kicks him into the nearby tree, before racing after them and elbowing Goku to the ground. He retaliates by landing a powerful kick that actually seems to hurt the demon, which angers him.
Tambourine is about to retaliate against Goku, but he manages to stop him by punching the monster's face. Tambourine is quite amazed by this kids' tenacity to strike him and claims that he’ll just have to shut them down in the name of King Piccolo. Goku gets into a fighting stance and attempts to fight, although Tambourine effortlessly avoids his blows and strikes back even harder. Goku is unable to stand as Tambourine pummels him into the ground before supposedly "ending him" with a flatline shock. Goku screams out in electrified pain as he falls to the ground Unconscious. Tambourine believes that hes killed the child and decides to take Goku's Dragon radar before walking away.
However, Goku begins to glow a bright orange light and he suddenly changes. Tambourine then notices Goku recovering from his supposed death and wonders how he survived that attack, but also notices that he looks different. Goku's facials structure and colour ahs remained the same, but he now has a pair of Golden wings with purple undersides sprouting from his back. A Golden-coloured armour plating covers the top-half of his gi both front to back, with a symbol with the kanji for "Dragon" appearing on his back. His fingernails gets sharper, his irises turn a cyan colour and his Tail now resembles a Dragon's tail with a arrow-shaped spike at the tip. Tambourine is very shocked by these turn of events and realizes that Goku is holding the power of the 4-star dragon ball.
THIS IS "NUOVA GOKU"!
Goku himself is surprised by this sudden transformation and notes that he feels warm, before temporarily playing around with his new tail and wings. This also allows him to discover that he can fly by using his wings, which makes him excited. Tambourine yells at the kid to never ignore him and fires an energy blast towards Him, but Goku uses his new wings to create a powerful draft that disintegrates the energy blast. The battle soon commences in the sky as the two forces strike with supposedly equal force, but Tambourine soon finds himself outmatched due to Goku's magical fire abilities. Goku fires a powerful Nova star towards Tambourine that tears through his wings and causes a massive explosion, which sends Tambourine falling to the ground.
Goku lands on the ground and tries to strike Goku, but he effortlessly evades it and lands a flurry of attacks that completely devastate the strange demon. Tambourine charges towards Goku as he begins to charge a white-hot Kamehameha. Goku then unleashes a full power of the 5x Kamehameha just a split second before tambourine strikes, which engulfs the demon and Pushes him far back. He screams out in Pain as he is completely disintegrated by the blast, with an exhausted Goku breathing heavily and smiling at the sky. He claims that he did it and avenged Krillin, before flailing to the ground unconscious and reverting back to normal.
Back on Pilaf’s flying fortress, King Piccolo sensed the death of his son tambourine and decides to create another demon in order to gather the Dragon balls in his stead. The pterodactyl-demon named Piano strongly reminds him that Creating offspring would speed up his aging process. King Piccolo dismisses the concern as that Problem will be fixed once he gathers the Dragon balls. He spits out an egg containing the Fat dragon-like demon named Cymbal, who immediately goes after the Dragon balls on Piccolo’s request. Emperor pilaf attempts to bargain with King Piccolo for a section of earth as he owes him their freedom, Which Piccolo begrudgingly promises just so they don’t annoy him.
Goku eventually reawakens from his coma during a peaceful sunset and notices that he is rather malnourished, which prompts them to go find some food. Beforehand, Goku takes the 4-star Dragon ball and hides it within his clothing before going off to the nearby jungle. Hilarity ensues as a fruit attempts to eat them instead and Goku almost breaks his teeth after biting the hard shell of an ankylosaurus that he intended to eat. Just as they begins to lose hope, They get a whiff of something delicious nearby and soon finds a giant fish roasting over a small campfire. The duo manage to eat the whole thing and regains strength, before turning on the dragon radar and attempting to locate the other Dragon balls. Just then, goku is almost struck by a large boulder that is thrown by a stranger with an Australian accent who accuses him of stealing his fish.
Goku yells at the stranger to watch where he's throwing stuff and then notices that he has a Dragon ball embedded into his necklace, which makes them Believe that he is working for tambourine. This understanding causes a fight to break out, which is surprisingly equal. The misunderstanding is soon resolved once Goku manages to take the Dragon ball and realizes that it's simply a fake plush-toy, Which the stranger angrily snatches back. Krillin apologizes and asks for the man's name, who he reveals is “Yajirobe”. This leads the duo into chatting for while. Shortly afterwards, Cymbal confronts Goku and Yajirobe in the forest as he believes they have a Dragon ball in their possession. Goku figures that cymbal is working with tambourine as they both want the Dragon balls and also look similar. After a game of rock-paper-scissors, Yajirobe proceeds to make short work of the demon by slicing him in half with his sword. The fat-man decides to eat Cymbal's corpse as he was rather hungry after Goku & Krillin took his fish.
King Piccolo senses the death of his latest son and scowls. He begins to sweat in panic as he question which martial artist could've killed them both in a short time span, with Mai believing that Goku caused it. This terrifies the pilaf gang and They decide to explain their experiences with Goku to a curious demon king, who seems quite amused that they are terrified of a simple Monkey-kid and also intrigued about his nature. Meanwhile, Yajirobe is a little upset that Goku had annihilated his Night-snack, But disregards it for the moment as he collects a glowing object nearby. It is revealed to be one of the Dragon balls and Yajirobe is quite surprised that they actually exist, Wondering if those stories about an eternal dragon that lived above the earths atmosphere were true as well. Goku asks if he can have it since he wants to revive his Friend and Yajirobe reluctantly accepts. Goku recognizes that its also getting rather late and decides to find someplace to rest. As they leave, The Dragon radar picks up on a Dragon ball approaching his location as he notices the Pilaf fortress floating above him.
Back at Kame house, Everyone present is quite concerned about the safety of Goku and the others. Yamcha is quite angry at himself for not helping and wonders if there is someway that he could help, although it appears that Master roshi has a plan. He reveals that he should leave for Japan's capital as he has “Unfinished business” with his brother, before telling the group that they should stay here for the moment and keep an eye on the news. With that, Master Roshi takes off towards Tokyo (east city) to finalize his plan.
Meanwhile, King Piccolo descends from the flying fortress and goes to confront Goku over the death of his sons and is surprised to find out that it was 2 children. Piccolo acknowledges that They must be quite strong yet believes that they are no match for the demon King. Goku decides to prove the demon king wrong. He rushes in towards him and land a flurry of attacks that actually took him off-guard. Goku delivers an elbow to King Piccolo’s foot and follows up with a spinning uppercut to King Piccolo’s chin, before leaping upwards and Knocking the demon king to the ground with a single kick. The demon king is quite surprised by his display and notes that its time to get serious.
King Piccolo wipes the purple blood from his Mouth and removes his cape, before rushing towards Goku and easily decimating him with a flurry of attacks. Goku manages to actually land some hits of their own, but they is extremely exhausted and his strikes are getting weaker by the second. King Piccolo then proceeds to land a devastating flurry of punches to Goku's face, with the last punch actually knocking one of his teeth out. King Piccolo then ends the fight by delivering a powerful gut punch and then a double axe-handle that knocks Goku to the ground. He picks up the battered Goku by the scruff of his neck and Begins to taunt him, but Piccolo doesn't anticipate his next move. Goku bites King Piccolo's fingers and this shocks the demon King, Which causes him to swing his arm erratically to throw Goku off. King Piccolo manages to grab goku with his other hand and Tosses him in a nearby tree.
Goku weakly stands up and decides to charge his ultimate technique: the Kamehameha. King Piccolo is terrified as he believes that Goku is about to perform a Mafuba, but is relieved once he realizes that it's a different attack. Goku unleashes the Powerful Kamehameha and it makes direct contact with the Demon King, although it doesn't seem to faze him. King Piccolo then emerges from the smoke unscathed and decides to finish this. It begins to rain as dusk falls upon the land, With the Moon providing a gentle glow to the darkened sky. King Piccolo continues his deadly assault and Easily defeats the duo. The weakened goku manages to just stand up and prepares a counter-attack in defiance, Which surprises King Piccolo. Regardless, he decides to finish off the battle once and for all.
He fires a Powerful beam of energy called a Makosen that Goku barely manages to dodge, before firing off a second Makosen towards the airborne kid. This attack strikes Goku head-on and Critically wounds him to the brink of death. King Piccolo believes that both of them have been killed and Quickly steals one of the Dragon balls in Goku's possession, although he notes that he can feel another dragon ball inside Goku. King Piccolo tries to forcefully bring it out, but it dosen't seem to work. King Piccolo decides to bring the weakened child along with him.
Meanwhile, Launches group have secured the 4th Dragon ball in their possession and proceed to head off towards the remaining 4. Upa notices that the remaining orbs are gathered together and moving towards them, Which concerns the group. On Pilaf's fortress, Mai can detect that the remaining Dragon balls are heading towards them. King Piccolo believes that whoever has them is a fool for coming here. Tenshinhan believes that it must be King Piccolo heading towards them and Innocent launch states that she has a plan, Which involves silently stealing Piccolo’s orbs and making the wish for Shenron to eliminate him. Chiaotzu notes that Launch is a little scary even in her blue innocent form, But agrees that it could be their last hope.
During this time, Roshi walks through the Devastated Tokyo whilst a thunderstorm occurs. He approaches the emperor’s palace and stares at the Gigantic door. He can only hope that his brother co-operates in his idea and Takes a few deep breaths before he enters the building. Master roshi decides to look around for a short while until he can hear someone approaching, which is quickly revealed to be emperor shen. He is rather surprised that the old coot would actually come to visit him and Roshi disregards his comment, saying that he has come here for a reason. He decides to explain that King Piccolo has returned and he needs Shen’s help in order to seal him, which causes Shen to laugh. He mocks his younger brother for being so weak and calls him stupid for believing that he would help, Although Roshi is unfazed by his comments. He calmly asks if Shen wanted to avenge their father and this causes his laughter to stop. Emperor shen leaps to the bottom of the stairs and confronts Roshi, Exclaiming that he wouldn’t dare bring up their father.
Master roshi asks why that is and Emperor Shen scoffs, before disregarding his initial question. Emperor Shen explains about the incident 200 years ago, In which he found his deceased father lying bloodied and beaten on the palace floors. He swore revenge on King Piccolo for the death of Mutaito, Yet became resentful when his brother roshi was the one to defeat that monster. In response, Emperor shen decided to take up the throne in his fathers Honor and Create the most invincible empire on the planet in order to restore the kingdom’s pride. He even started the tournament battles in order to Pick out the strongest warriors for his army, but that would also prove to be his downfall as seen by the last tournament. He lost his pride and was humiliated by his star bodyguard's betrayal…. Which he recognizes was the fault of Roshi.
Master roshi is a bit surprised to know that Emperor Shen recognizes him as Jackie chun yet keeps his cool. He decides to plead once more to change his mind and yells at him, asking if His stupid pride is more Important than the fate of the world or even his own life. The jade emperor grits his teeth and stays quiet for the Moment, before calmly telling Roshi to leave. He reluctantly agrees yet not before giving him a last minute push to change his mind. He calmly states that his brother shouldn’t let rage consume him as it leads down a broken path, which can make you lose everything you cared about before you know it. In response, emperor shen fires a dodon ray into the nearest stone statue within the place and shatters it. This makes his point of wanting nothing to do with Roshi clear as the turtle hermit leaves with a heavy heart. Despite his outburst, Shen takes a brief moment to reconsider his actions after noticing a beautiful family photo that includes him as well as his brother and their two parents.
Meanwhile, Launches Group manage to hide from King Piccolo behind some trees and attempt to figure out a plan on stealing the demon's orbs. Tenshinhan is rather eager to fight the beast and Chiaotzu warns that it's simply too dangerous, but They have no choice in Hiding as King Piccolo approaches their location. However, the demon king is interrupted by a familiar voice as he is confronted by a lone master Roshi. This actually catches king piccolo off-guard and wonders what does this one want. Roshi immedielty notices that Goku is in King Piccolo's possession and Master roshi doesn't say anything. King piccolo chuckles nervously, saying that he really has a death wish for approaching him so casually. Angered by his further silence, King Piccolo proceeds to lay a beatdown on the old turtle hermit and severely wounds him. However, Roshi does not wish to fight and Toys with Piccolo by taking each punch dished out.
King piccolo is slightly amazed at this human's durability and decides to finish him off right now. He readies a murderous punch and Launches towards the stationary Master, Before an orange streak of light pierces through the attacking arm. This makes the demon recoil slightly before he is suddenly kicked into the Ground… By emperor shen. Master roshi is rather surprised to see that His dear brother has arrived and also glad that he chose the right path, although the prideful jade emperor reveals that he only came to properly eliminate this beast. Master roshi seemingly knows his true reason for coming here and chuckles slightly as he says “whatever you say.” A Disgruntled King Piccolo interrupts their conversation as he gets up, saying that nobody can stand up to his power and intends to crush them like ants. Master roshi believes that there's no time for idle chit-chat and Shen agrees, with the two getting into their signature battle poses. A brief stare down occurs and then the true battle starts.
Emperor Shen and Master Roshi charge towards the demon King, Who also lunges towards the two brothers. King Piccolo attempts to strike the two with a Powerful Punch, although they are quickly able to block and deflect the attack. The turtle hermit delivers a barrage of Punches and knocks back the demon king with a roundhouse kick. Emperor Shen leaps in with a few punches towards King Piccolo's gut and manages to land a High kick to the demon’s face. King Piccolo recovers and blocks emperor shens next attack, which allows him to grab ahold of his leg and slams the jade emperor into the ground. Master Roshi rushes in to help his brother and King Piccolo throws Shen’s flailing body into master Roshi, which knocks them both into a nearby tree.
The duo manage to recover from this slight fumble and proceed to lunge towards King piccolo from opposite sides. King Piccolo is able to block both of their attacks and Proceeds to twist them around, which causes them to spin rapidly in mid-air. King Piccolo uses this opportunity to slam emperor shen through the ground with a Powerful double axe handle and knock Roshi into a nearby lake with a devastating kick. The demon king grabs emperor Shen by the scruff of his neck and Proceeds to lay a devastating beatdown towards his stomach, Which causes him to cough up some blood. Master Roshi rises from the lake and Shakes till he’s dry. He notices that emperor shen is on the verge of death and Rushes in to help his brother. King Piccolo is about to eliminate shen with a mouth blast until he is disoriented with a Kick to the jaw from Roshi, which forces him to drop shen.
Master roshi manages to push back King Piccolo by using his leg to kick away from the demon king, which allows him to gain some distance. He uses this moment of distraction to charge up a Super Kamehameha and Transforms into his MAX Power state at the last second, before Unleashing the full blast. Emperor Shen is forced to escape as King Piccolo is struck head-on from the blast. Master roshi is severely weakened and is forced to revert back to normal. King Piccolo emerges from the smoke and has taken some damage, although it's nothing too major. Emperor Shen recognizes that they are no match for King Piccolo and says that they cannot continue fighting in their current condition, although Master roshi proposes an idea. He tosses a capsule that holds a rice cooker inside. King Piccolo recognizes the container used to seal him and emperor shen notices what Roshi is planning to do.
Emperor Shen questions his decision and pleads with him to find any other way, although it appears that Master roshi has made his mind up. Shen’s brother is a bit surprised by his hesitation and recalls Shen's own words: “I’d rather perish in the moment to save one soul then flee like a pathetic coward”. Shen grits his teeth and notes that His brother must have a pristine memory, before reluctantly accepting his brother's idea. However, He still doesn't forgive Roshi for his own defeat of King Piccolo and refuses to let his brother take the final kill once again.
King Piccolo is absolutely terrified of their idea and cannot find the strength to retaliate. This allows the two brothers to use the last of their fighting strength and form a coordinated attack, laying a devastating beatdown on the demon king. The two then manage to land a synched-kick that slams the demon king in front of the rice cooker, before gaining some distance with a few backflips. The two nod in agreement as they begin to Power up, Causing the very ground to shake and crack beneath them. A terrified King Piccolo attempts to flee by leaping into the air, although it is far too late as the brothers join hands and Unleash the evil containment wave. This huge wave of green energy engulfs king Piccolo and begins to Slowly elongate his body, which shocks everyone in the vicinity. The two brothers struggle to keep control of the overwhelming attack and both swing their raised arms down, causing the attack to swerve right towards the rice cooker along with King Piccolo. However, something unexpected happens as the force of the attack causes the rice cooker to shut and bounce away out of the attacks range.
The attack ultimately fails and King Piccolo slams into the ground: Exhausted but not defeated. Roshi is completely shocked and laments on his failure, Although shen is angered and wants to finish off the creature right now. Suddenly, the jade emperor stops responding and falls to the ground in silence. Roshi is horrified as he confirms that his brother is DEAD, which makes him realize his own fate as well. He uses the last of his energy to tell King Piccolo that their species will survive and someone will succeed where he failed, Before he falls to the ground and peacefully allows his fate to happen. The two royal brothers are now dead.
King Piccolo laughs in triumph as he recognizes that Nobody can stop him now. Piano tosses down one of the dragon balls in their possession and uses his “telekinesis” to retrieve the other 5 from Tenshinhans possession, which surprises them. He then tosses the unconscious Goku into the dragon ball Pile and Summons the Eternal dragon, with Goku once again glowing and floating in the air as Shenron appears. King Piccolo is about to make his wish, before Chiaotzu interrupts him by using his telekinesis to freeze him in place. Launch is about to make the wish to eliminate King Piccolo, but He breaks free and effortlessly kills Chiaotzu with an energy blast. As everyone stares in shock, King Piccolo makes his wish for "eternal youth" and his appearance drastically changes to appear more young.
The demon king recognizes that he has been reborn and Proceeds to demonstrate his new found strength by KILLING Shenron with a powerful masenko. This renders the Dragon balls inert and destroys any hope of his potential defeat. King Piccolo stares up towards the Earth’s illuminated moon and proceeds to smirk, believing that no-one can ever challenge his reign again. After King Piccolo leaves, Tenshinhan and Launch emerge from hiding and Take a look around the area. They immedielty go over to Goku and find out hes just unconscious, but his heart rate is slow and unsteady. They then go over to roshi and Shen, only to find out that they are truly dead.
They are devastated by their friends' deaths and Tenshinhan feels personally responsible, causing him to take out his frustration upon a small mountain. Launch goes over to comfort him and states that they CAN Avenge their friends, although Tenshinhan wonders how. That's when the two take notice of the rice cooker and Remember that King Piccolo was terrified of that attack. They recognize that the evil containment wave is the key to defeating the demon king and Tenshinhan volunteers to learn the technique, Although Launch also chooses to come along with him. She recognizes that she may not be a good person in the eyes of many, But she wants to right those wrongs of her past and protect her homeland. Reluctantly, Tenshinhan agrees to have her come along and Launch gives him a warm hug as a silent “thank you”. The two proceed to trek off towards a Remote mountainous area in order to get some much needed rest and training can begin tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Goku reawakens from his coma and finds himself in a strange location high above the clouds. He decides to take a good look around and eventually comes across what appears to be a Strange genie named “Mr. Popo”, who reveals that Goku is on the Lookout. This is a special domain above the clouds and is where the earth's guardian currently resides. Popo further explains that saved Goku from certain death and brought him up here after his battle against the demon king. Goku is quite thankful for saving him and Questions where the guardian of earth is, although Popo reveals that they cannot meet just yet. He recognizes that they are eligible for testing and suggests that they can fight, with the Goal being that that he must defeat Mr. Popo in a fight. Of course, He accepts the invitation as he isn’t one to decline a challenge.
The fierce showdown begins with Goku rushing towards Mr. Popo at incredible speeds, although the genie easily evades their barrage of attacks. Goku tries attacking with Punches and Kicks from all directions yet he cannot land a single blow on Mr. Popo. He decides to utilize his after-image technique and Quickly disappears from the genie’s sight, which does not appear to faze him. Mr. Popo is quick to react and effortlessly blocks all of Goku’s strikes. Goku is quite agitated and Tries to continue a devastating assault, but nothing he does can strike Popo. Goku then unleashes a powerful Kamehameha towards the genie, although he simply opens his mouth and eats the attack. The genie ends the fight as it appears that Goku has failed the test. Goku is now disappointed before claiming that he could stay here and train until he eventually defeats the genie, which he accepts. However, their conversation is interrupted by an elderly voice coming from the temple. Whoever it is tells Popo that its quite enough and he now wants to meet Goku.
The guardian of earth emerges from the temple and Reveals himself. Goku is rather shocked by his appearance and mistakes him for the demon King, causing him to attack out of anger. However, he is easily knocked aside by Kami smacking him with his finger. He manages to calm the Boy down by revealing that he is NOT King Piccolo, but they are related in one way. Kami and the demon king were once a single entity, until he was forced to split his essence in half. King Piccolo ended up being the pure evil half whilst he retained the Pure good side. Regardless, Kami reveals that he has been keeping a good watch over him and he is rather impressed about Goku's efforts.
The most intriguing aspect about Goku is him being connected to one of the dragon balls through a soul link, which is something that Kami has for all of them. On the other hand, Kami has never seen anything like Goku's condition before. A Regular being absorbing a dragon ball and possessing a physical-link with its power, Which is rather interesting. His new link to this dragon ball in particular meant that it was spared from deactivating after Shenron was killed. It also seems that his "Nuova form" is connected to this phenomena as well. Goku asks if Kami is the creator of the dragon balls and Shenron, but Kami states that he is only one of a long lineage of guardians that date for a long time. The Dragon balls have even supposedly existed for longer then Humanity's existence, which surprises Goku.
Goku wonders if Kami could somehow remove the dragon ball, but Kami shakes his head. Unfortunately, Goku's link to the 4-star dragon ball has blocked Kami from accessing it and only Goku now has the capability of doing such an act. Goku is a bit confused about this, but seems to feel warm after knowing that his Grandpa's soul supposedly restswithin him. Regardless, Kami states that there are more important topics to discuss. This now leads Kami into believing that Goku has the greatest chance of defeating King Piccolo and reveals that Goku will need to stay up on the lookout for special training. Goku is excited about the prospect of training and Kami appreciates his enthusiasm, asking the monkey boy to follow him.
The duo proceed to walk around the inside of the lookouts temple until They enter a large room filled with different types of clocks. Kami introduces the monkey kid to the “Time chamber”. This is a special room that transports anyone into the past or future via their mind. All anyone would need to do is simply think of an event that's Happended in their timeline and This room would bring them to a simulated version of those events. It also appears that traveling to the past within this chamber and doing something different will not alter any events. Goku is quite amazed with the idea of this room and Wonders why Kami brought him here. The Guardian explains that he would like to properly test Goku’s abilities and spirit control before they can properly begin. Goku understands and Kami urges him to think of previous battles he's experienced. Goku nods in agreement and closes his eyes as he tries to recall the toughest battles from his past. Eventually, he manages to remember a specific event and Reopens his eyes, being surprised at what he sees.
It appears that Goku has been transported to the sacred land of Korin around 3 years ago. Kami notes that it's been rather a long time since he saw this place with his own eyes. They are suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a familiar enemy: Mercenary Tao. The late assassin seems quite shocked upon seeing that Goku had survived his previous attack and decides to finish off the job right now. It seemingly appears that Tao cannot see Kami as he only acknowledges Goku. The Guardian of earth remembers this confrontation from years ago and decides to step back, wanting to see how Much Goku has improved since this fight. Goku is very much eager to beat this evil mercenary once again and gets into his signature battle pose, causing a brief stare down to occur.
The rematch commences with mercenary Tao rushing towards Goku and boasting that he will Kill him within 3 seconds. He intends to go for the finishing blow right off the bat, But Goku effortlessly counters with a Kick to the mercenary’s stomach and Punching him straight into a tree. Tao is quite shocked to witness Goku's strength and is agitated that he also destroyed his second suit, asking the kid if he has any idea on how difficult it would be to find a decent tailor. Goku retorts that the Assassian should be focusing on this battle and not his looks. Enraged, Tao launches a Dodon ray towards Goku, who effortlessly evades by ducking under the attack. An Enraged Tao Rushes towards Goku with a flurry of attacks, although the assassin quickly finds himself severely outmatched by the monkey kid. Goku easily destroys the mercenary due to his increased strength and even manages to break a few of his teeth as well. Mercenary Tao gets desperate and tries to use some exterior weapons to take him down, although it still doesn't prove to be enough.
Mercenary Tao demands to know how this could happen and Goku instead states that he won’t reveal his secrets, which only angers the mercenary even more. He decides to his penultimate trump card, dropping to his knees and begging for mercy. Being the nice guy that he is, Goku falls for this trick once again and turns his back. Mercenary Tao chuckles at his misfortune and tosses a frag grenade towards the warrior. However, Goku reveals that he was actually bluffing and kicks the grenade back towards mercenary Tao. The following explosion engulfs the mercenary and presumably kills him. With that, the simulation ends as both Goku and Kami are transported back to the time room.
Kami is amazed by Goku’s display and believes that he's seen enough, saying that its time for Goku to tackle the next challenge. They proceed to walk over to the opposite side of the Lookouts temple and enter another large door, which leads to the “Spirit room”. This is another special room on the Lookout that allows someone to train themselves mentally and control their spirits. However, they will have to endure under various disruptions and become tuned with their emotions as the goal. Goku is bit a reluctant at first but accepts the mission. Unfortunately, Kami won’t be going in with him and a determined Goku enters the room.
Meanwhile, King Piccolo is currently preoccupied with his world domination scheme by attacking major cities around the World. The “United nations of Gaia” military force (Armies from all the countries combined) are called into action and do their best to ward off the demon king, Although it's a rather futile effort. During the chaos, He infiltrates the nearest news agency and Hijacks the news broadcast. The humans attempt to flee the building and King Piccolo prevents them from leaving by caving in every exit. King Piccolo chuckles at their misfortune and exclaims that he doesn't want them to miss out on this big event. He "promises" that they can leave under the condition that they broadcast his message for the world.
Meanwhile, Tenshinhan and Launch radio back to the remaining Group at Kame house. They begin to relay the vital information about their current predicament: their mission was a failure and now Shenrons dead, Master roshi and emperor shen willed during the battle and King piccolo has regained his youth. Tenshinhan reveals that they plan to Master the evil containment wave and tells the group on the location of the bodies, before they duo cut contact with them. This confuses the group as they Pray for Tenshinhan, Upa and Launch safety, wondering what they can do now that Shenron is dead. Just then, Oolong catches their attention with a rather concerning news broadcast on air right now. Everyone around the world watches the TV In suspense, as King piccolo clears his throat and introduces himself to the world. He announces that he is the new ruler of earth and demands that everyone bow down to him, exclaiming that this day (may 7th) will forever be known as Piccolo day. He reassures everyone that he won’t become a traditional dictator and decides on giving the United nations 24 hours to respond to his Ultimatum: Either express their loyalty to the demon king or Perish. King Piccolo chuckles as the broadcast cuts off, leaving everyone around the world utterly terrified.
The group at kame house are shocked by Piccolo's broadcast and Bulma wonders if there's any chance left to defeat the demon king. However, Yamcha steps up and expresses that he’s tired of being complacent and wants to go help. Oolong protests this choice, but Bulma does end up agreeing with Yamcha. Reluctantly, the piggy obliges and the trio head off towards King Piccolo's location in a hover-car. Meanwhile, Goku has been meditating for a long time in the spirit room whilst in his super form. This is currently his 11th attempt as the disturbing echoey voices of the chamber keep distracting him. However, this attempt proves to be successful as Goku remains calm and becomes in-tune with his emotions even with the echoey voices getting louder. Just then, a massive gust of wind seemingly bursts out of nowhere yet Goku remains undeterred. He is able to react quickly by spinning on his heel and outstretching his palm, causing the mysterious force to blow right past him. Shortly afterwards, Goku reopens his eyes and he feels rather satisfied with the results before powering back down to base form.
He proceeds to exit the room and is greeted by Kami, who decides to test his training by tripping Goku up with his shoe. Goku almost falls to the ground yet he is able to catch himself with a front-flip. Kami is astonished at Goku’s achievements and believes that he has conquered the spirit room. Goku is eager to face the next challenge and Kami stops him. He acknowledges that there was supposed to be an Ultimate task after this yet Goku has grown incredibly fast within the last few hours to where the ultimate challenge isn't needed., which stuns Krillin and Goku. It should be noted that neither of them are as strong as the demon king quite yet, although his skills and tenacity should more than make up for it. Kami manages to pinpoint King Piccolo's location in Central city and the determined warriors race towards the city on the nimbus. Meanwhile, Tenshinhan and Launch have managed to master the evil containment wave and proceed to head off after King piccolo.
During this time, King Piccolo is currently destroying Central city and He chuckles at the people’s terror. He is then interrupted by the arrival of Tenshinhan and Launch, which surprised King piccolo but he simply disregards them. The duo are about to face the demon king in battle until they are confronted by his newborn son named “Drum”, which appears to be a fatter version of cymbal without wings. Launch insists that she can take this one and wants to show off the results of her training, which Tenshinhan accepts. She does a few quick stretches and gets into a battle pose, before the battle officially commences. Launch rushes towards Drum with incredible speeds before landing a right punch on drum’s nose and striking him with an elbow in the gut. Drum follows up by grabbing launch and prepares to slam her into the ground, but Launch is able to recover by twisting drums arm and leaping over him.
Launch follows up with Multiple punches to Drums back and Knocking him away with a drop kick to the back of his head. Drum manages to recover and Proves that he isn’t no slouch by showcasing his surprising speed, which allows him to get a few powerful strikes upon Launch. She remains confident and fires a dodon ray straight through drum’s punch, which travels through his arm and straight out his elbow. Drum is incredibly enraged by his wound and Prepares to Kill Launch. She responds by using a solar flare that blinds the monster and unleashes a Kamehameha. However, she ends up tripping at the last second and Misplacing the energy beam once it fires. Drum is able to avoid the attack and slowly walks over to Launch in order to finish the Job, but she improvises a plan by firing a dodon ray into drum's chest. This causes the demon to scream in pain and trip backwards, which allows Launch to get some distance and fire another Kamehameha that completely eliminates the monster.
Launch is left exhausted and Tenshinhan praises her amazing effort, with the duo sharing a quick fist bump. King Piccolo is somewhat impressed by the newcomer's skill and the duo turn their attention over to the demon king, recognizing that they need to put him down for good. Tenshinhan places down a Mafuba jar and the two unleash a double evil containment wave, which absolutely terrifies King Piccolo. However, his son Piano manages to sacrifice himself by jumping in front of the wave and saving his father. This allows King Piccolo to destroy the Mafuba jar and thwart their attempt at sealing him, although it ends up Killing piano in the process. With no other option, Trio are forced to battle against the demon king. The duo are able to put up a good fight for a few brief seconds, although they are swiftly defeated.
King Piccolo believes that he's wasted his time playing with these fools and fires off a mouth blast to eliminate them. However, That mouth blast is suddenly reflected back towards king Piccolo and slightly damaging him. It's quickly revealed that Goku has arrived on the battlefield. The duo are quite relieved to see their friends once again and King Piccolo is quite shocked, wondering how they managed to survive. Tenshinhan warns the kid that the demon king is far too strong and tells him to escape, although they refuse. He recognizes that King Piccolo has regained his youth and full power, which he confirms. The demon king believes that his survival was just a fluke and wants to show a demonstration of his power before he puts goku down for real.
King Piccolo rushes towards Goku and prepares to deliver a neck, although Goku simply blocks the attack with his finger. Shocked, King Piccolo attempts to deliver an energy Punch but he effortlessly evades the attack and throws the demon king into a nearby building. King piccolo becomes angry and fires off a powerful Masenko towards Goku, although he effortlessly evades the attack by jumping. He falls down to the ground and Unleashes a Kamehameha from the sky, which actually damages the demon king. Goku lands and they rush towards king Piccolo immediately, using their rapid movement technique to strike the demon king with a flurry of Punches from all directions. This only enrages him further as he uses a Mini-explosive wave to push goku away and decides to utilize his full power. The ground shakes and begins to break apart as the demon unleashes more of his strength. Tien and Launch have a hard time balancing whilst Goku stands unaffected.
King Piccolo finishes his power-up and Rushes towards Goku, delivering a powerful punch that Knocks Goku through multiple buildings. Everyone initially believes that Goku is dead until the aforementioned kid starts rushing towards the demon king whilst charging a Kamehameha. After he unleashes the blast, King piccolo attempts to block it until Goku manages to redirect its trajectory. This stuns everyone as King Piccolo acknowledges his opponents tenacity, But refuses to let him leave alive. With that, they engage in an equal fight with King piccolo’s strength being countered by Goku’s skills and Vise-versa. Goku also manages to manifest the powers of the 4-star dragon ball and Temporarily transforms into his "Nuova goku" form, which surprises King Piccolo immensely. This form allows Goku to overpower the demon king and Provide a more one-sided fight.
During the battle, King piccolo is thrown into a building and tosses a piece of it towards Goku. He manages to evade it by flying upwards using his wings and goes in for an attack, but King Piccolo stops him by using an eye laser to burn Goku's knee. This makes his limb go… Limp yet Goku still refuses to give up, saying that he only needs one knee to beat this monster.
Goku manages to use his power pole to propel himself into King piccolo and landing a few devastating strikes. King Piccolo notes that his power pole is just a mere crutch and fires a barrage of finger beams, which Goku is just barely able to block. The demon king manages to knock away the power pole with his finger beam, which severely puts goku at a disadvantage. King Piccolo finishes off his barrage by firing off a Powerful Makosen, Which was intended to strike Goku. The attack strikes head-on and severely cripples Goku to the point that he can barely stand, with him reverting to his normal form. Despite this, He refuses to give up and does his hardest to stand up.
King Piccolo laughs at Goku's misfortune and claims that his reign of terror will start fully. He picks up a large rock from the ground and blows it towards Goku, which shatters his left arm. He ascends up into the sky and prepares to kill everyone with a powerful Makosen. Goku looks around the area and sees that his new friends are in grave danger, Causing him to cry and apologize for not being enough to beat this monster. His thought process is then interrupted by Kami telepathically speaking to him. The guardian recalls that Goku has fought through many tough battles and despite all the hardships, Goku has survived EVERY SINGLE ONE. He knows that Goku still has one trick up his sleeve and believes that he will overcome the demon king.
This returns hope back to Goku as he looks towards the monster with determination. He manifests his Nuova goku form once more and places his one good arm to the ground, before firing a Kamehameha. The force of the attack is enough to propel Goku into the air at incredible speeds, which King piccolo is stunned by. Goku stops his attack and raises his fist upwards to prepare for one final attack. Goku then suddenly encases himself in a sphere of heat, before screaming out and the Image of an Oozaru appears behind him. King Piccolo braces for impact as Goku continues racing upwards, with the entire crowd awaiting in baited breath. Everything goes silent for a moment as Goku.... Completely penetrates through King Piccolo's body and winning the long battle. Goku is elated about his victory and exclaims that Beat King piccolo, although it had left him severely drained.
He falls to the ground in his normal form and is caught by Launch. Yajirobe also comes back to the scene and gives out the last few senzu beans for the month to all the heroes, which restores all their wounds and energy immediately. Everyone decides to celebrate their victory just as Bulma, Yamcha and Oolong arrive on the scene, being amazed at how Goku had defeated the demon king. However, one problem remains as Launch remembers that King piccolo had destroyed Shenron and now they cant bring anybody back. Goku suggests that he already has it covered and knows a very special person that could reverse this damage, which most of them agree to. Bulma and Oolong decide to stay behind in order to spread the news about king piccolo’s defeat.
In the sky, Piccolo remains floating and holds a hand over his new wound in clear pain. He notes that it was simple unbelievable that the demon King was bested by a Child with Super-Powers, But he calls it nothing short of Brilliant and calls son Goku a worthy adversary. However, he does not want the kid to Imagine that the Demon clan will simply disappear and He will rise again. Multiple rays of light then pierce through the demon King's body and his body crumbles, before suddenly exploding and seemingly leaving no trace of that Monster.
Bulma and Oolong decide to stay behind in order to spread the news about king piccolo’s defeat Whilst Goku, Upa, Tenshinhan, Launch, Yajirobe and Yamcha head off to the Sacred land of Korin.
