King Cold (コルド大王, Corudo Daiō) is an Arcosian who is the emperor of the Planet Trade Organization. He was the founder of the organization, although in recent times he retired in order to allow his children, Cooler, Frieza, and Nitro, to rule in his stead.

History[]

The Royal Exception[]

At the start of this story, King Cold took his brothers and sons to the Pink Oyster Cult on Poonjab VII, which was an adult resort. Within a few minutes of arriving at their hotel room, Cold passed out in a chair with a glass of ice wine in his hand. Later, Cooler instructed Frieza not to kill Ginyu (the cashier working in the gift shop), lest he incur the wrath of their father.

Scelerat[]

In this story, King Cold met Cooler on Frieza's planet just before the great feast. At first, King Cold was surprised that Cooler had come (saying that he hadn't seen his son in a long time), but soon Cooler transformed into his fifth form and made his intention (to kill Frieza) clear. King Cold became very mad at this, though he was unable to convince Cooler to stop his madness until he himself transformed into their species' fifth form. In that form, he was significantly stronger than Cooler and was able to stop his son from going forward with his fraticidal plan. Then, King Cold asked Cooler to return with him to the feast, but Cooler did not go with him.

Monster[]

When Kuriza noticed his father talking with King Cold over his scouter, Frieza screamed about how it wasn't fair that Cooler had more planets than him. This implied that Frieza was having an argument with his father about the size of his intergalactic territory compared to Cooler's. Frieza ended the conversation by throwing his scouter into a wall (breaking it) and transforming into his third form in a moment of pure rage.

At the start of this story, King Cold decided to educate his son Frieza on how not even kings can be saved from death by showing him the corpses of several powerful kings. This caused Frieza to become intensely afraid of dying and become obsessed with gaining immortality (eventually causing Frieza to take that disastrous trip to Namek). Later, King Cold rescued Frieza from the wreckage of Namek, vowing to save his son, despite Frieza's pleas to be killed to escape the immeasurable pain he was in.
