In the wake of the Planet Trade Organization Civil War of Ages 765 - 767, much of the empire's forces were depleted. Kuriza's region had lost many soldiers, so the planets therein were ripe for raiding by space pirates. Something had to be done. Kuriza decided to create an elite team of warriors to maintain peace in his realm, akin to the Ginyu Force he had been so fond of as a young boy. They were to be known as the Katchiguri Force. Headed by Aranya, the team consisted of four of the strongest warriors in the Planet Trade Organization. Kracchus, Dhuak, and Pukco were the other members. Kuriza considered himself the honorary fifth member of this team (though he rarely went on missions with them).
History[]
On May 2, Age 767, Kuriza declared his intent for the Katchiguri Force to be formed. He immediately pegged Aranya (at the time, the governor of Nyare) as the leader. He tasked two of his closest advisors, Lingon and Kracchus, to find him another pair of warriors. As for the fourth, Pukco was, at the time, in open rebellion against the empire and encroaching upon Kuriza and Yuki's regions. He was the prince's desired fourth member, but first he had to be brought to heel.
On May 10, Age 767, Lingon presented Kuriza with Dhuak, while Kracchus offered himself to the team. Both candidates were accepted.
On May 21st, Kuriza and his Katchiguri Force arrived on Planet Nitro 086, where Pukco and many of his rebellious underlings were lounging. There, the boy fought the gladiator and defeated him. Kuriza offered him either a place on the team or death. Unsurprisingly, Pukco chose to join the Katchiguri Force.
In the coming weeks and months, the team took part in a few minor battles. It wasn't until September of that year when, during the events of Really Big Scary Monsters, the Katchiguri Force faced their first true test on Planet Frieza 073. The team showed remarkable synergy, and after defeating the pair of powerful monsters, they grew to trust one another. Aranya settled into her role as the captain after coming back from nearly three decades of retirement from being a warrior.
