Goku- the Saiyan legend who rose from low-class ranks and reached legendary status: Super Saiyan 3.
Kakarot-The Saiyan who survived Frieza's onslaught and join Prince Vegeta's Elite. He reached Super Saiyan Status from a wish on the DragonBalls. He and Vegeta defeated Frieza and Cooler.
Both the same person, both lived different lives.
