He eventually made contact with a master assassin named Tachizo, who took him under his wing and quickly trained him into being one of the greatest assassins on Earth, gaining reputation under the alias "Red Dragon of the South 南の赤い龍" at the age of twelve.

During the 97th Tenkaichi Budokai, he was awakened to the bad influence in his life and became more "neutral", gradually warming up to the Z-Fighters over time. Today, he helps defend Earth from trouble along with the Wolf Style Dojo, which he helps run alongside his wife Sei-Sen, and the rest of the Z-Fighters of the new generation of Earth. His rivalry with Kenju Zu is a center plot-point of Dragon Ball Keisho 継承, with the two earning each other's respect over the course of the series.

    Biography[]

    Backstory[]

Jin Judoka was born in a village hidden in the swamps surrounding South City on November 16th, Age 978. When he was a toddler, a mysterious demon-like dragon had emerged from the ground and began to slaughter the people of the region. Jin Judoka's parents learned of a technique that would allow the dragon to be sealed within a soul, and they decided on sealing it in their son, then leaving him for dead in the wilderness. Jin Judoka survived primarily off of eating berries and eventually grew up living a nomadic lifestyle where he had to hunt and fish to survive. He attempted to return to the village around the age of eight, but was immediately chased out after being recognized by his eyes. Fleeing in tears, he ran into the woods once again and eventually made it to the Minamikaze Desert, where he nearly starved to death but was taken in by a man with the name of Tachizo.

This man was a notorious assassin, known as "Tachizo the Broken" and he immediately saw the capabilities within young Jin Judoka, noting his incredible ki control ability and fiery spirit. Tachizo then took Jin Judoka under his wing and trained him in the ways of martial arts. Under his guidance, Jin Judoka was able to find a style that fit his skill set perfectly, focusing primarily on ki-enhanced melee attacks built around speed, precision, and defense/counterattacks. By age twelve, he had already successfully assassinated fifty targets and became known as the "Red Dragon of the South 南の赤い龍", primarily for his sudden bursts of anger coming from the demonic dragon Eien Ryuu sealed within him. Feeling confident in his ability and having a deep desire to be known throughout the world as a fearsome warrior, Jin Judoka asked Tachizo for permission to participate in the upcoming 97th Tenkaichi Budokai, which was granted with no hesitation. Tachizo told Jin Judoka that if he did not win the tournament, he was a failure, and that anyone that bests him must be put down for humiliating him. With this in mind, he and his master began training rigorously for the upcoming tournament.

    97th Tenkaichi Budokai Saga[]

Jin Judoka's training and assassination missions are covered periodically throughout the first eight episodes before the tournament, eventually leading to Sei-Sen and her mentor, Master Renji, accepting a bounty contract to take them out. This battle ended up as a one-sided affair, with Jin Judoka and his mentor barely breaking a sweat to take down the duo. However, they had decided to spare the two, instead leaving. It is believed by Jin Judoka that this was the incident that solidified Tachizo's interest in entering the Tenkaichi Budokai.

After many months of rigorous training with his mentor Tachizo the Brave, the two arrived at Papaya Island for the Tenkaichi Budokai and were immediately recognized by several people, including contestants and spectators. A few other young martial arts prodigies were at the tournament, including but not limited to Sei-Sen, a top student of the Wolf Style Dojo led by Master Renji, and Kenju Zu, the top ranked combatant of the Crane Style Dojo. Along with martial artists of the Turtle School, the 97th Tenkaichi Budokai is one for the records, being filled with rivalries and narratives as well as battles that shake the arena. After a long tournament with many electrifying battles between Earth's greatest, one of the semi-final matchups is contested between Jin Judoka and Kenju Zu, with Kenju Zu having a majority of the fan support due to Jin Judoka's infamy for his reputation as an assassin.

Both fighters were gravely injured, and Kenju Zu managed to narrowly squeeze out a victory, advancing to the final of the Tenkaichi Budokai, where he lost against Sei-Sen. After losing out on his ultimate goal, Jin Judoka was beaten up by his own master in the back room, which Sei-Sen had witnessed. She had decided on following Jin Judoka and Tachizo home, sneaking into the camp while Tachizo wasn't looking and talking to him about what had happened. Jin Judoka explained that he intended on killing her due to her victory as it exposed that he wasn't strong enough and caused his master to view him as a failure, but decided on telling her to leave quickly before she was spotted.

Months later, Sei-Sen returned when Jin Judoka and Tachizo were training and Tachizo gave the young Earthling a task; to kill Sei-Sen here and now and begin a vengeance quest on all of the Z-Fighters. Jin Judoka had never hesitated to kill before this, but the fact that Sei-Sen had showed him kindness caused him to deeply ponder this task. He eventually caved in and decided to try to kill Sei-Sen, but failed. As Sei-Sen began to leave, she watched as Tachizo began to once again beat Jin Judoka into a pulp. In that moment, his inner rage awakened by the demonic dragon sealed within him, and he suddenly snapped and hit his own master with a deadly spinning kick that snapped his neck, killing him instantaneously.

Jin Judoka began to have a panic attack after accidentally killing his own master, but Sei-Sen quickly flew back and reassured the young martial artist that this was his chance to reinvent himself. She told Jin Judoka that her master, Master Renji of the Wolf Style Dojo, was impressed at Jin Judoka's performance and said that with proper training and form, he would be unstoppable and wished to see him one day for training. Jin Judoka refused at first as he had trauma from his previous mentor in Tachizo the Broken, but after a long and heartfelt conversation, Sei-Sen managed to convince Jin Judoka to enter the Wolf Style Dojo, beginning his new path to power under the guidance of a legendary martial artist and alongside others around his age, including a young boy named Hoshi who enters the dojo a few days after him.

    Character Description[]

    Physical Appearance[]

Jin Judoka has sunkissed skin due to his constant outdoor activity as a child. He is of average height and a muscular but lean build. His eyes are a dark hazel that appear much lighter in the sun, having a significant hue of green in them. His hair is wild and black, with a few natural brown highlights to them. Jin Judoka has a few scars across his face and body, all gained during his childhood days as an assassin. As an adult, he grows to a height of about 5'9" (175 cm), which is about average for an Earthling.

    Personality[]

As a kid, Jin Judoka demonstrates a lot of rebelliousness, constantly going against people that try to tell him what to do, no matter how insignificant. This personality trait gradually goes away as he ages, with Master Renji's sacrifice against Jinryu acting as a "wake up call" for him to respect his peers and to appreciate them for the time he has left. Jin Judoka is somewhat calm and has a playful arrogance to him. He toys with his opponents a lot with mocking and fake attacks, but knows when to take things seriously. He enjoys other casual things in life like nature, music, and sports, most notably displayed in his constant betting with Hoshi and Kenju Zu.

    Goals[]

Jin Judoka's primary objective, although for different reasons overtime, stays relatively the same throughout his entire life as a martial artist; to become as powerful as he can possibly be. It has always been a matter of pride and personal growth for him, but at first it was to be feared by those he was sent to kill by his former mentor, Tachizo the Great, when he was an assassin. Now, it is to ensure that he and those he loves aren't put in danger when faced with threats, as he wants peace and safety for those he grew to appreciate. A big part of this change is due to his relationship with Sei-Sen that developed overtime.

    Powers and Techniques[]

    Fighting Style[]

Jin Judoka fights in a unique style known as the "Okami Jinsoku-Ryū" that was formed by the Wolf Style Dojo. This style is heavily based on the art of reading an opponent and waiting for the right opportunity to strike, favoring quick precise strikes over brute strength. He almost always waits for an opponent to make the first move, which is in line with his expertise-level ability to perform the perfect counterattack. He typically does not like to use ki in the form of blasts, rather using it to enhance his own melee combinations and striking/speed capabilities.

    Abilities[]

    • Flight
    • Basic Combat
    • Ki Manipulation/Control
    • Ki Sensing
    • Rapid Perception/Analyzation
    • Extreme Endurance
    • Extreme Strength
    • Extreme Speed

    Techniques[]

    • Ryū Harikēn 狼ハリケーン: His signature technique. Gathers energy into core through hand movements and releases it in a quick burst of ki through his arms as a dragon silhouette forms behind him. Produces hurricane-like winds.
    • Yoroijin 獣の鎧: Strengthens his body to be able to endure almost any attack, deflecting it back to the opponent. This technique takes a lot of stamina to hold and if broken through, his body is much more vulnerable. This technique is similar to one used by Tien Shinhan in the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai.
    • Keihatsu 啓発: Stops time for 10 seconds to study every possible outcome within the next 3 seconds in order to make the best decision.
    • Twin Dragons 二龍神: Unleashes two dragon apparitions that attack relentlessly until they are killed. This technique is most commonly used as a distraction tactic to give himself time to charge up an even stronger technique or to regather ki.
    • Jinseiken 人生拳: Jin Judoka's ultimate technique, invented and mastered by himself. After a painful charging process that takes a few minutes, he unleashes all of his inner life energy and transfers it into his fist, charging forward into a flying punch with a million tons of force as a dragon apparition appears, similar to the one in the Dragon Fist technique. Extremely dangerous to use, usually putting him in a several day-long coma afterwards at the very minimum, and can potentially end his life.

    Trivia[]

    • Jin Judoka's name is a pun off of "Judoka", the term for a judo master, which is also his manga name, as well as Jin, the main character of Ghost of Tsushima.
    • Jin is not his first name and Judoka is not a surname; his name is simply Jin Judoka, similar to the way Tien Shinhan's name works.
    • Characters refer to him sometimes as Jin or JJ for convenience, although it sometimes gets on his nerves when not coming from people he is close with.
    • Jin Judoka is meant to be a combination of Tien Shinhan and Future Trunks in terms of his general demeanor and the "vibe" that he gives off. Other inspirations behind Jin Judoka are Bruce Lee and Miyamoto Musashi.
