Hellscape is a short story of the first Legendary Super Saiyan, Tosmaes, as he spent his early childhood cast away in a ravine by his own tribe.

"Waah.." came a weak, despair-filled sound, a hollow, echoing rattle. The whine could hardly be heard above the relentlessly hot, burning winds that flowed through the giant ravine.
As abruptly as the whine had started, however, it soon ceased. It's source had spent all of it's energy in that breath alone; it was a wonder how it managed to make a noise at all. For the source of this pathetic plea was nothing but a baby, a small, Saiyan baby.
It's exhaustion carried throughout most of his time. The poor baby could hardly be blamed; he was no more than a few days old and had been run through by a dagger before being promptly thrown down a canyon.
Even these hellish murderers who had attempted infanticide could hardly be to blame for this baby's suffering, they had merely been fearing for their life as anyone would. This child was no regular Saiyan, by any means.
This child was the first of his brand of Saiyan, born with incredible power at a young age, a mountain amongst the plains. The village mages could sense this; they saw only despair in this child's wake. Acting on the thoughts of what would be best for their tribe, the boy was cast down a height that no Saiyan should survive, a fall that led straight to the depths of hell.
Born with the rights to divinity yet cast into anguish and hellfire, from a young age this mere infant was twisted. Stranded on boiling rocks amidst rivers of lava and the most ghoulish of creatures, the poor infant had only two choices: to bleed out and die unforgotten, or to somehow work out a way to survive in this land dearth of light.
