Gotenks is the immensely powerful result of Trunks and Goten successfully using the Fusion Dance, and the first Fusion character to be seen in the Dragon Ball Series. He first appears in Dragon Ball Z. Gotenks is mentioned by Trunks and Goten during Dragon Ball GT, but he only appears in Dragon Ball GT "King Proton". Gotenks later appears in Dragon Ball SF and Dragon Ball GF.
During the fight agaisnt Majin Buu, Trunks and Goten undergo training to learn the Fusion Dance technique from Goku and later Piccolo. after several attempts the Fusion becomes successful and fight against Majin Buu and is still no match for the monster.
After training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber they later fight against Super Buu in the time chamber and later on the Earth much afterwards until the fusion expires. They are later absorbed by Super Buu along with Piccolo and later saved by Goku and Vegeta.
Wrath Of The Dragon (Movie)[]
during the fight against Hirudegarn, Trunks and Goten use the Fusion Dance Technique to fight as Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks against this threat and at first has the upper hand on the monster until it transforms and knocked them out causing the Fusion to expire.
Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return!!! (Movie)[]
2 years after the defeat of Kid Buu, Trunks and Goten use the Fusion Dance Technique to fight against Aka, the fusion of Abo and Kado who are former henchmen of Frieza's army who have appear on Earth chasing Vegeta's younger brother, Tarble.

Trunks and Goten's first failed attempt at the Fusion Dance Technique resulting in this overweight failed Fusion appearance.
Skinny Gotenks[]
Trunks and Goten's second attempt at the Fusion Dance Technique resulting in a second failed attempt. This Fusion results in a very fragile appearance unfit of battle.
Super Saiyan[]
Trunks and Goten through the use of the Fusion Dance Technique transformed into a Super Saiyan. As a Super Saiyan, Gotenks power greatly increases far beyond his normal form along with his attitude being similar to when Vegeta first ascended into a Super Saiyan.
Super Saiyan 2[]
Although briefly shown in the manga and animeAnime series, Gotenks never uses the form in combat, instead he bypassed it to ascend to Super Saiyan 3. However in Dragon Ball SF, Gotenks uses the transformation briefly in a fight.
Super Saiyan 3[]
Trunks and Goten through the use of the Fusion Dance Technique transformed into a Super Saiyan 3. Far surpassing his previous Super Saiyan transformations. Like other Super Saiyan 3's, while in this form the golden hair becomes very long in length and the eyebrows vanishes and the bio electricity along with the golden aura increases.
