Future Gohan (未み来らいの孫そん悟ご飯はん, Mirai no Son Gohan) is the alternate timeline counterpart of Gohan that appears in the timeline in which Future Trunks lives. He is also the Supreme Kai Apprentice (界王神見習い, Kaiōshin Minarai, lit. "Apprentice of a God of Kings of Worlds") serving the former Supreme Kai of Universe 7, Old Kai. He was selected by Future Old Kai to receive training to become a Supreme Kai.

Future Gohan is a pivotal character from an alternate timeline, known for his resilience and growth as a fighter. He serves as the Supreme Kai Apprentice, learning under the Old Kai of Universe 7. Background

Future Gohan lived exactly the same life as his main timeline counterpart until the point of the timeline divergence between Future Gohan and his main timeline counterpart that occurred when Future Frieza arrived on Earth in August Age 764. Originally, Future Goku uses his Instant Transmission to arrive and kill Frieza and his father (Goku even states to Future Trunks in the main series that was what he was going to do), but the events in the series differ, as Future Trunks arrives and kills the tyrants in the main timeline instead of Goku, thus the timeline divergence. Future Gohan hails from the true original timeline (one without a Future Trunks coming back in time, obviously) and because of this, the events that unfold are far different from those in the main series.

Future Gohan appears in Dragon Ball Super during Future Trunks' flashback. In it, Gohan is with Trunks sitting down when the androids attack a city nearby, Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan and asks Trunks to stay, but he refuses and wants to go with his master, Gohan agrees and when both prepares to go, Gohan knocks Trunks out and goes by himself to face the androids. Later, Trunks finds Gohan's dead body, much to his sadness and begins to cry, achieving for the first time his Super Saiyan transformation. A flashback via Future Trunks showcases Future Gohan waging a battle against Androids 17 and 18. In the flashback, Gohan battles with Android 18 first, but despite a few good blows, he is eventually smashed into a rock pile when Android 17 intervenes. Before the downed warrior can rise again, the androids prepare to assault him, but Trunks steps in and cuts off a few locks of Android 18's hair. Trunks is attacked but Gohan is able to save him. However, he is quickly overwhelmed so he and Trunks hide among the ruins of the city in order to devise a plan. A flashback of Gohan picturing his dying father is shown, and he states he will strive to make him proud. The next scene shows Gohan and Trunks charging at the androids, but nothing beyond this is seen other than a large explosion and Trunks' narrative describing his mentor's death.

Each time he uses this power up it allows his "god mind and Saiyan body" to tie further together.

Mental Abilities

• Genius-Level Intellect - Being rigorously disciplined by his mother into studying college-level topics and classes, Gohan's intellect rose to genius levels from a very young age. Despite loving martial arts and adventure, Gohan's lifelong dream has always been to become a successful academical professor and investigator, which, later in adulthood, he would easily achieve. His genius is so recognized amongst the academic community, that he is constantly invited to give speeches and conferences at several different schools and research centers. Nevertheless, Gohan has given his formidable intellect has another use while in battle; using his incredibly intuitive mind, he can easily develop strategies and combat movements while he's on the move. His prowess was such that Goku himself appointed Gohan as the leader of Team Universe 7 during the Tournament of Power, as Gohan was as strong as him, but far more intelligent, making him the most suitable candidate for being leader. Even Piccolo, who is acknowledged to be one of Earth's smartest beings and a nigh-unmatchable strategist, was confident in Goku's decision of appointing Gohan as the leader and was always following Gohan's orders and combat strategies during the Tournament.

    • Wolfgang Pressure – In Supreme Kai Super Saiyan, Gohan uses a barrage of kicks that shoot blue aura ki blasts.
  • Super Maximum Light Speed Fierce God Kick - A more powerful version of the Fierce God Kick used in Supreme Kai Super Saiyan.
• Energy Punch - Gohan charges his fists with blue ki and launches powerful punches. These are simply Gohan's normal punches when he is displaying a hint of his true power.
  • Blazing Magnetron - Gohan generates a volcanic explosion, then charges his fist with massive energy and delivers a punch that triggers a massive explosion.
• God Split Cut - Gohan concentrates ki around his hand and then uses it like a sword to slice opponents.
  • Violent Fierce God Slicer - After further refining his Kaioshin power, Gohan is able to use an enhanced version of the technique, he emits a blade of indigo energy from his hand to slash and stab his opponent. It seems to be enhanced by the form's ki aura.
    • Azure Dragon Sword Model Energy Blade - An improved Violent Fierce God Slicer gained through powering up to Strongest Form 1.
      • Divine Lasso - In Strongest Form 1, Gohan can shoot out multiple energy javelins from his blade that first pierce the target and then explode.
• The Original Turtle School Kamehameha - The original version created by Master Roshi. The technique involves wide sweeping arm movements and cupping the hands together before bringing them forward to fire a blue wave of energy.
  • Feet Kamehameha - A variation used by Gohan after he lost an arm.

  • One-Handed Kamehameha - A variation used by Goku and Gohan.
    • Father-Son Kamehameha - First, Gohan fires a Super Kamehameha at the opponent, who struggles against the attack. Then, the spirit of his father Goku appears behind him in a Kamehameha stance and shouts to him "Now!!" Finally, Gohan pulls his hand back and throws it forward as he charges more power into the attack, overpowering the opponent and inflicting a massive amount of damage.
    • One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II - A variation used by Future Gohan in his Pseudo Super Saiyan form
      • Instant Kamehameha - A combination of the Kai Kai and One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II used by Gohan in his Ultimate Super Saiyan forms.
• Special Beam Cannon - The move is performed by touching the index and middle fingers of one hand to the forehead and charging enough ki to attack. Its speed changes to the power level of the user performing the move. When ready, the fingers are extended forward, and two thin energy beams are unleashed from the fingers. One remains straight while the other coils around the straight beam. The resulting beam is quite powerful, drilling through most targets, and exploding on the ones it can't.
  • Master-Student Special Beam Cannon - As crimson lightning strikes around him, Gohan smirks and begins gathering streaks of bluish-white light, pulsing crimson and azure bolts of ki before holding his index and middle fingers to his forehead. Then, Gohan recites the technique name and brings his charging arm forward to fire a brilliant white Special Beam Cannon at the target, completely decimating them.

Support Techniques

• Evil Containment Wave – A technique designed to seal demons away by sucking them into a container with a special "Demon Seal" ofuda on it. The move requires huge stamina and endurance to perform, if user does not have enough life force they will die soon after performing it, despite the success of the technique.
  • Kai Kai Matoru - Future Gohan uses his godly power to create a beam, allowing him to seal up an opponent's magic power.
• Kai Kai - The ability to teleport anywhere in existence. Unlike with Instant Transmission, this technique does not require one to lock onto an energy signal.
• Light Bullet - Gohan is stated to move thousands of times faster than his normal speed for short bursts.
• Tenma Defense – Future Gohan charges his ki and lets forth a large white barrier to either knock away opponents or deflect attacks.
• Phantom Fist - A variation of the Afterimage technique.

Single Strikes

• Fierce God Kick - The user strikes their opponent with a powerful flying kick with immense force.
• Quiet Rage - Gohan throws a single kick while everything turns blue except the background which turns black, slices the opponent in two, and detonates the body. In some cases, the environment temporarily turns dark as Gohan uses the ability.
• Shining Blow - Future Gohan channels his fury into a single blow, striking through his opponent and impaling them through the gut with his arm. The attack is visually similar to Quiet Rage, also consisting of a single mortal blow and causing the environment to temporarily turn dark.

Rush Combinations

• Dynamite Monday - Gohan charges up to his opponent and attacks with a vicious combo attack comprised of punches and kicks, which can then be extended into a multitude of punches before finishing it with a roundhouse kick that knocks the opponent to the ground, inflicting a high amount of damage.
• Eight-Arm Fist - King Chappa's signature technique where Gohan moves his remaining arm fast enough that he seemingly has four of them, allowing him to attack and defend himself much more efficiently.
• Explosive Demon Impact - As he shouts, "I'm not finished!", Gohan charges at the opponent and roundhouse kicks them in their face. Then, he charges at the opponent again and hook kicks them away, inflicting a high amount of damage.
  • Purple Lightning Beast Kick - Declaring his intent to attack, Gohan Beast strikes the opponent with a sudden kick to the abdomen in a flash of lightning, roaring as he puts more power into the attack and sends the opponent flying.
• Maximum Blow - Future Gohan punches the opponent in the face with all of his might, then punches the opponent twice to send them flying.

• Swordsmanship - During his survival training under Piccolo, Gohan learned to wield the sword that Piccolo had created for him using Magic Materialization in self-defense and hunting. During his training under Shin, Gohan removed the legendary Z Sword from its resting place which he was eventually able to wield after getting used to its immense weight.
