History[edit | edit source]
In the chapter 1 flashback, Frieza watched Cooler chasing bugs all over the grassy planet. He mocked his older brother for doing something that seemed so stupid. Cooler told Frieza to go back to their outpost, for it was getting close to nighttime. Frieza was angered by Cooler trying to command him. Cooler then revealed that King Cold was going to give the grassy planet to Cooler as a present, which angered Frieza even more. Frieza and Cooler then went to blows, for Frieza thought the planet should be his, not his brother's. Cooler won the battle by choking Frieza out. He almost killed Frieza, but let up just before his younger brother died of asphyxiation. Cooler then left Frieza in the grass and returned back to the outpost alone. While not shown in this story, it is assumed that Frieza returned to his father's outpost soon after.
In this tale, Frieza watched Dodoria's planet being conquered. When he saw Dodoria's strength, he ordered his soldiers to spare him. Then, he offered Dodoria a position in his army.
In this story, Kuriza remembered a story his father had told him about Kuriza's older brother. Frieza told Kuriza that his older brother had been naughty and often stayed up all night and would play outside in the dark until the sun came up, ignoring Frieza's commands to go bed. One night, a monster came into his room, took him away, and ate him. It is heavily implied in Monster that this character never actually existed, and was made up by Frieza only to scare Kuriza into going to bed on time. Later, when Kuriza went outside to play in the rain, he saw his father having an argument with someone on his scouter. Soon, Frieza became enraged, threw his scouter, and transformed into his third form. This greatly scared Kuriza, causing the young boy to flee back to his room. Kuriza later dreamed of his father in his third form and called him a monster; at the same time, however, Kuriza knew that the same blood ran in his veins as did his father's.
Near the end of the last chapter of this story, as King Vegeta was on a Planet Trade Organization ship overlooking his homeworld and talking to some Arcosians about the strategy to send baby Saiyans to distant worlds (to conquer them by the time they grow up), Frieza suddenly entered the scene. He ordered the other Arcosians to leave and revealed himself to be the leader of the Planet Trade Organization to King Vegeta. He then stated he wanted to discuss some things with King Vegeta, though what they discussed was not shown in this chapter. Still, after talking with Frieza, King Vegeta's demeanor changed - he became more depressed, distant, sad. It is likely that Frieza told the king that his species was were just slaves in Frieza's empire and could do nothing about that (if they wanted to survive). Later, during the flash-forward section, Prince Vegeta criticized his father for bowing down to Frieza and stated that he would kill Frieza himself when he grows up. King Vegeta later thought to himself that his son didn't know how truly powerful Frieza was and that it would be suicide to stand up to the tyrant. However, he also harbored the hope that his son was the Legendary Super Saiyan and perhaps could unlock the power to defeat Frieza. He then resolved to increase the severity of Prince Vegeta's training and find him a good training partner so that his son could grow strong enough to kill Frieza.
Frieza was the tyrant leader of Planet Vegeta and joint ruler of the galaxy under the guise of the Planet Trade Organization. He was also the brother of Cooler. Despite having such a pivotal role in The Forgotten, Frieza wasn't actually seen all that often. Upon hearing of Prince Vegeta and Ledas' unnaturally high power levels, he, in a rare move, got personally involved.
Eventually, King Vegeta organized a revolt against the tyrant. And so, Frieza murdered him, along with the entire Saiyan race. In Frieza's eyes, this solved the potential problem of rising Saiyan power levels and his internal fear of having to face a Legendary Super Saiyan.
While Frieza was never seen again, he did have one more lasting impact. His later death sent his brother, Cooler, to Earth, in order to find the mysterious "Super Saiyan" who killed Frieza. This indirectly caused Ledas to journey to Earth as well, so that he could find Vegeta.
Frieza was made aware of The Benefactor's planet by Captain Zarbon and departed for it at once, after he learned of the large power levels coming from the planet. Upon arriving, he was acquainted with The Benefactor and impressed by the alien's power. He offered The Benefactor a place in his ranks if only the boy could eliminate a legion of his finest soldiers. The Benefactor did so with a single blast. Frieza then left the planet with Zarbon and his newly named Benefactor.
Frieza was briefly seen in a flashback in the Reunion Saga just after The Benefactor killed Lascon. He reminded The Benefactor that the alien was no different than Ledas or Vegeta, and that he would be best served to remember that.
In the first scene of this story, Frieza, Kuriza, Zarbon, Gichamu, and several low-level soldiers visited Planet Frieza 062 to install a new rejuvenation tank on Frieza's saucer. Kuriza and Zarbon were meant to oversee the operation. Frieza left a carton of space crab ice cream in the refrigerator for his son as a gift for helping, though he couldn't have any until the tank was installed.
Later, after the tank was installed, Kuriza inspected it. Everything seemed to be in order. The prince told Zarbon to report to his father on the successful installation. Zarbon exited, though he did not bow. Afterwards, Kuriza noticed the smooshed remains of a space-badger stuck underneath a corner of the tank. Appalled by Zarbon and Appule's lack of hygiene, the boy vaporized the remains, swearing to himself that he would tell his father about that.
In the second scene, Vegeta informed Kuriza that the Ginyu Force was, at present, meeting with Frieza. In the third scene, while Kuriza was pranking the Ginyu Force, he contacted Captain Ginyu from his father's secure scouter line (he had memorized the password one night after Frieza had drunkenly revealed it to him). In the fourth scene, after the Ginyus began vomiting in the kitchen due to Kuriza giving them Sobren milk, the boy knew his father and Zarbon would be furious, but he also knew that nobody would ever blame him, so he didn't care.
In this story, Frieza asked Zarbon to fetch Vegeta for him, as the tyrant had a new mission for the boy. After Vegeta returned from his latest mission, Frieza gave him a new one. After their meeting, Vegeta and Frieza walked out to find Zarbon and Appule arguing over something in the hallway. Zarbon threatened to kill Appule, and Frieza's only stipulation was that Zarbon not do so on his ship. Then, he ordered Zarbon to get back to work.
In this story, Frieza visited Planet Frieza 041, a military outpost under the command of Cui, to extract an unknown device from below its surface. After landing on the planet, he ordered the Ginyu Force to do his dirty work for him. He later witnessed Cui's duel with Recoome and, being so impressed with Cui's fighting ability, offered the lieutenant a position on his spaceship.
At the start of this story, everyone on Frieza's ship went to Planet Frieza 079 to restock the saucer's vending machine with space funyuns. Later, when Kuriza and Vegeta got into a fight, Kuriza warned the Saiyan to not be so rude, or he would tell his father, and Frieza would punish him.
In the second scene, Kuriza met with his father. He told the tyrant what Vegeta had done. Frieza was none too pleased with the actions of the Saiyan and his son. He ordered Kuriza to accompany him to the rejuvenation tank room so that the boys could work out their problems. When they arrived there, however, Malaka told them that Vegeta had left and hour ago, despite the doctor warning him that he had not fully recovered from his beating the previous day. They noticed that Zarbon was in there, talking to Malaka, and Guldo was getting his third eye opened (he had gotten pink eye after rubbing it on the karaoke mic the previous day). Frieza ordered Zarbon to go find Vegeta so that they could leave Planet Frieza 079.
Then, Frieza and Kuriza returned to the throne room. Frieza asked his son what he wanted for space Christmas, suggesting a stuffed animal wintaar. But the boy wanted nothing more than another space snuggie and for Vegeta to be given a timeout. They passed Cui in the hallway, and he sucked up to Frieza. The emperor noted that he did not like Cui much. Kuriza agreed, thinking that Cui was very ugly.
When they arrived back in the throne room, they noticed that someone had drawn obscene pictures on Frieza's hover pod. The first was of Kuriza, wrapped up in his space snuggie, with a monstrous face and wild arms, with the phrase, ‘I smell laik a dirty ape!!’, written above it. Additionally, there was a picture of Frieza kissing Zarbon while Dodoria cheered them on. Kuriza swore it had been Vegeta. Frieza was absolutely furious. He ordered his son to leave. As Kuriza fled, he heard his father destroy the hover pod.
Later, as Kuriza was waiting for Orlen to return to him with a cup of space cocoa, Frieza contacted him on his scouter. He told his son to return to the ship, for they were leaving at once. Kuriza asked him if they would still celebrate space Christmas on the ship, but Frieza, losing patience, just told him to return.
At the start of the third scene, Captain Ajira alerted Frieza and the gang that something was wrong with the emperor's saucer. She sent technicians to see what was the matter. Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria remained on the landing pad while Kuriza, the Ginyu Force, Cui, Orlen, Appule, and Vegeta played in the snow (Vegeta mostly just watched the others embarrass themselves with their space Christmas spirits).
Soon after, Nappa strode out of the ship and asked Zarbon what was going on. Zarbon told him about the ship not starting up. Nappa showed the emperor and his lackeys the big bag of presents he had gathered up for space Christmas. Dodoria took the bag and Nappa was dismissed, as Frieza did not like being in the presence of monkeys not named Vegeta.
At noon, Ajisa reported back to Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria, telling them that it had been space-badgers in the hyperdrive that had caused the ship to malfunction. Her technicians had repaired the ship, and everything was good to go. Everyone returned to the ship at around noon, and it took off shortly afterwards.
Later, when the soldier delivered space cocoa to Kuriza, he was surprised that the boy hadn't killed him, for that was what Frieza normally did after a soldier gave him anything.
At the start of this story, Frieza was shown the bodies of thirteen dead emperors by his father. King Cold told Frieza that no matter how strong anyone was, they would die eventually. This caused Frieza to become very scared of dying, and he became obsessed with finding a way to cheat death. He later went to Namek purely because of his fear of dying. Of course, he then lost to Goku and sustained horrific injuries in that duel. Afterwards, King Cold found Frieza in the wreckage of Planet Namek and tried to heal him. Frieza was in so much pain that he was delirious; he begged his father and all of the soldiers around him to kill him, to end his pain, but none listened. Frieza realized then that he had fallen so far, that he had become so weak, that he could not even die.

- Frieza's scouter is red.
- Frieza's theme is Angel Terrestre.
