Frieza is one of the first antagonists of the Dragon Ball Z (and X) series. He was an intergalactic conquoror who ruled the Saiyan race before destroying their home planet, leaving only a few Saiyan survivors (Including Goku, Vegeta, Tomata, Broly, Raditz, and Turles) and moved on to richer conquoring grounds. He was invading the planet Namek, when the X-Fighters (In this case, Krillin, Raditz, Vegeta, Goku, and Piccolo) arrived to stop him. After their battle (In which Freiza was defeated by Goku and Raditz, who became a Super Saiyan, and then nearly killed) Frieza was rebuilt by his father, King Cold and attacked Earth personally, but was nearly killed by Trunks, who had arrived from the future (It's complicated), but survived. For the second time, he was offered mercy, and, not wanting to die, he accepted. Over time, he mended his evil ways, and became a genuine (although somewhat sadistic and anti-heroic) member of the X-Fighters. In the years right around the battle with Majin Buu, Freiza began to feel uneccecary, as the Saiyans had so greatly exeeded his power. After months of training, he unlocked a new form, with spikes sprouting from his elbows, knees, and down his back, but otherwise looking like his fourth form. In this form, he was 25,000 times stronger than before, and more than a match for a Super Saiyan 3. However, he was killed and absorbed by Super Buu, along with most of the other X-Fighters. Later, having been revived by the Dragon Balls, he unlocked a new form (his golden form) in order to try to defeat Beerus, but was narrowly beaten. In this form, he is more than a match for a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, and more powerful than a Super Saiyan 4, or even an Ascended Super Saiyan 4.
