The First Generation Gods are the highest-ranking and most powerful beings in KidVegeta's universe. They, along with Heisis, (sometimes considered a First Generation God itself) hold total dominion over the universe. Despite that, few (if any) mortal beings know of their existence. This faction is featured in KidVegeta's Theogony: From Silence to the Greater Kais.
Role[]
The First Generation Gods are gods of ideals, universal truths, and philosophies. Each one represents numerous things. For example, Maltrion, the first of the Twelve Divines, is the God of Time, the God of Prophecy, and the God of Immortality, amongst other things. Each of the twelve represent numerous things like this - some represent more ideals than others, however. Most First Generation Gods reside solely in Mytos, the highest plane of existence. Four of the twelve - Zentryx, Iantos, Sethys, and Icaeus - also frequent other planes of existence, which are detailed on all of their pages. The First Generation Gods watch over the totality of reality, but they rarely get involved in any conflicts between lower forms of life. Icaeus, Iantos, and Sethys, however, do tend to mingle with mortals (though they tend to take the forms of mortal beings in order to disguise themselves). Perhaps the only recent incident where the Twelve Divines got involved (since the creation of the five planes of existence) was in their calling of Weyvn home after he was killed in a battle with a mortal named Anaku. The Twelve Divines ordered that Second Generation God back to Mytos in order to protect him, and despite his own high rank in that faction, he was unable to refuse his parents' order. Elsewise, the Twelve Divines have not made themselves known to many. Icaeus enjoys tricking mortals, so he does mingle with them frequently, but as mentioned before, they do not realize who exactly they are dealing with. Iantos creates life and Sethys takes it away, so they will always be unseen, but understood, presences in the Universe, Underworld, and Other World.
Additionally, Heisis, sometimes referred to as the Thirteenth Divine, is a force of chaos who controls 50% of the energy in all of reality. Its power is equal to the sum of the powers of the other Twelve Divines combined. It is understood by the Twelve Divines that it is their duty to check Heisis' power and to fight Heisis should it ever attempt to take over all of reality. So far, that day has not yet come, so the Twelve Divines spend their times enjoying themselves and pursuing their own passions; often, that means being isolationists from the rest of reality.
History[]
When The Nameless Being was born, it decided to split itself into twelve entities, which resulted in the creation of the First Generation Gods. Iantos created the plane of Mytos soon after, and Maltrion granted upon it the blessing of Elder Time, which meant that nothing would age or wither in that plane of existence. It was not long afterwards that Icaeus and Sethys got Iantos drunk enough to breathe life into several trees that he had grown in Mytos, creating the first male and female of the Shima.
Ashamed at what he had done, Iantos created the plane of Helcio below Mytos to contain the Shima. There, the male and female were taken, and there they bred, though Sethys never let their population rise above twelve, for to do so would be a great insult to the First Generation Gods in her opinion. Iantos created the plane of Other World to contain the souls of those Sethys had taken (though she held no power in Other World itself), which was located below Helcio.
In Helcio, Icaeus taught the Shima language, and all he knew. However, he grew bored with the Shima and asked his brother to create more species for Icaeus to play with. When Iantos refused, and Maltrion and Thessia protected him from further drunken exploitation, Icaeus decided to create a species by himself - the Keishin. The Keishin and Shima began to war, which drew the attention and interest of Pythe, Haseidene, and Soranos.
Afterwards, Dapherion called a council of the divines together to discuss Icaeus' actions. They eventually decided to create a fourth plane of existence below Other World, the universe, where mortal life could exist to entertain the gods. A species was created for every drop of blood that was shed in the Shima-Keishin war, leading to the creation of hundreds if not thousands of mortal species.
Not much time passed before the Keishin and Shima realized the futility of their struggle. They forged a secret alliance against the First Generation Gods. Then, the Shima called the gods to them. When they came, the Keishin attacked, followed by a second attack by the Shima. The First Generation Gods were able to stave off the mortals, but so greatly offended by their betrayal were they that they banished the Shima to Other World, where their descendants became known as the Ogres, and banished the Keishin to the Demon Realm, where their descendants became known as the Makaios.
Soon after, Heisis influenced the First Generation Gods to sleep with one another and produce the Second Generation Gods. Their children went to the universe to spread their powers and influence, but the First Generation Gods themselves did not interact with the universe thereafter, to which Heisis was greatly pleased.
Many of the early species in the universe worshiped the Twelve Divines, as well as their children. Chief amongst those who did not, however, were the Daman, who came to label themselves as the mortal gods of the universe due to their superior intellect and technology. Led by Anaku, the Daman relocated their homeworld of Krakatan to the Other World, and declared themselves gods.
When Weyvn, son of Maltrion, eventually fought and killed Anaku, but died in the process, his father and mother demanded that he remain in Mytos thereafter to prevent himself from dying again and thus being erased permanently from existence.
Notes[]
- ↑ Heisis is not considered to be a member of this faction by the other members of this faction; still, its presence in and amongst this faction is undeniable, so it is listed here. It is also sometimes referred to as the "Thirteenth Divine", whereas usually the First Generation Gods tend to refer to themselves as the "Twelve Divines" in an effort to distinguish themselves from Heisis. KidVegeta's Universe recognizes both "Twelve Divines" and "Thirteen Divines" as being accurate titles for the members of this faction.
