This is the Third fan-fiction side story of Dragon Ball Galaxy and conclusion to the Initiative Saga. This story take place 5 months after the Tuffle Arc. A unknown alien is brought to Earth and begins to quietly take over the planet by replacing the originals with duplicates. This is a summary of the story.

Prologue[]
<AGE 758 – FIVE MONTHS AFTER THE TUFFLE RESURGENCE – ORION SECTOR>
A giant plantlike bean pod is floating aimlessly in space when suddenly a ship approaches it from a above. A blue light comes from the ship and the pod is pulled in. The ship was the ASV Ratcliff. The pod is pulled into one of his cargo bay. Once it was inside the doors close and the bay was pressurized. Soon the entrance to the bay open and crew members of the ship enter. Scientists move and began to examine the pod. They are approached by the ship’s captain.
Ratcliff Captain: What do you make of it professor? (He looks to his right to a red hair, amber eyed Women wearing a lab coat.)
Cruze: We are still trying to determine its point of origin, but we can concluded that it is alive. It also requires Ki to live.
Ratcliff Captain: Alive!? You’re saying that we may have found a new species? Continue with your observation, and give me a full report. I will have to notify Spacefleet Command about this.
Cruze: Yes Captain. (Leaves the room and is followed by his officers. Cruze then looks at her staff.) Take all of the information to the lab, I’ll stay here for further studies. (Her team leaves the area as she continued to study the pod, she then overhears some of the crew conversation.)
Crewman: Hey, I met General Mercury recently!
Crewman# 2: No way, what’s he like?
Crewman: At first he looks intimidating, you can feel how powerful he is! He super nice and cool. His wife Lee’sa is so hot!
Crewman# 2: No fair, you got to me one the most legendary person in the galaxy! I hope I get to meet him. (The two crewmen leave the area. Cruze was now by her and she was venting anger. She throws down her PDA)
Cruze: The Legendary Mercury! HA! All you did is ruined my life! That should have been Me! I despise you so much!
???: What is this feeling? (Cruze is startled. She turn around for she heard a female’s voice, but no one was there.)
Cruze: Who’s there? Show yourself!
???: I am behind you… (Cruze turns to the giant pod)
Cruze: Are you…speaking to me?
Pod: Yes, I am. What is this feeling I sense from you?
Cruze: Anger.
Pod: Why are you angry? (Cruze began to realize that it was childlike.)
Cruze: You have to understand the meaning of anger.
Pod: Please I want to. (Suddenly, a green tentacle forms and attaches itself to Cruze head. She yelps and grabs the tentacle and struggles to get free, but she stops and feels a great calmness of mind. She lets herself go as the pod begins to join her.) I see, pain, anger, resentment against this one called Mercury.
Cruze: He took everything away from me. In the past, I fell in love with him.
Pod: This love caused you great pain. I understand that pain. I am the last surviving member of my species from a distant star that was attack and destroyed. I understand the meaning of losing everything.
Cruze: Emotions is the true reason why we both lost everything. I learned that the hard way. However, if we work together as one, we will create a new superior race.
Pod: Yes, our people are never again be hunted by those who have succumbed to the dangers emotions. We can help those who suffer from emotion, by giving them new bodies. So we can be one.
Cruze: Let us begin for our time has come for retribution.
The tentacle attached to Cruze then pulls her into the pod and she is absorbed, then smaller pods began to pop out of the giant pod and began to hover into the air ducts, one of the pods levitates to the control room the bay to an officer who was napping. It gets inside and lands next to him. Then it splits open and many translucent tentacles wrap around him. Then suddenly green mass spills out and begins to form and take the shape of the officer. It make a perfect duplicate of the officer. The duplicate wakes up and stands on its feet and looks at the original with an emotionless face. The tentacle of the pod then wraps complete around the original and vanishes. The Duplicate then goes to the Giant pod and picks up smaller pods and distributes throughout the ship.
Part one[]
<EARTH – SPRING – 4 DAYS LATER>
Mercury walks out from a market carrying a container full of groceries. He place on the ground and presses a button on it and it Poofs into a capsule. He picks up the capsule and puts it in his pocket. He then walks to the parking lot and gets inside a roadster for he decided to drive for once. When he gets inside, he happens to look up and see a man running around screaming at the top of his voice. The man then runs to Mercury’s car, he his expression was terror and desperation. He recognizes Mercury.
Man: General! You have to help! We are under attack! Don’t trust anyone!
Two police officer arrive and seize the man and pulled him of the car. The man struggles as they drag him away. Mercury sat in the car uneasy. First, what attack was this man talking? Everything has been at peace for five months. Second, there was something off about those officers. Mercury then drives back home. After sometime had passed, his family had finished eating dinner and cleaned up. While everyone was off doing their own thing, Mercury and Lee’sa stood on the porch in the backyard watching the sunset.
Mercury: I can’t stop thinking about what happen today. What really is getting to me is how I could not even sense the presence of those officers. I felt that man’s ki, but not those officers. It was like they were not there. When they dragged the man away, they had emotionless expressions.
Lee’sa: Maybe, there are still Tuffles out there?
Mercury: I doubt it, Baby was the master controller. And Jac will know about it, with the new detection system.
Lee’sa: We should notify the Director about this, just to be safe.
Mercury: Yeah, you’re right let’s go. (The hear rustling in front of them and see Bluu walking into the light with a large bean pod.) Bluu what is that?
Bluu: I have no idea, I found it in the flower bed, and it smells like lavender. It might be an overgrown seed. I’m going to check it out later, right now, I’m going to nap.
Lee’sa: Ok, Mercury and I are going to stop by HQ real quick. We’ll be back.
Bluu nods as she walks inside the house. Mercury and Lee’sa then blast off into the sky and fly over to EDF Headquarters. They arrive to the busy airfield and walk inside the complex. They make their way to Director Raily’s office. Raily was sitting at his deck typing on the computer when he hears a knock at his door.
Raily: Come in! (Mercury and Lee’sa enter sits on the chairs in front of his desk) Good to see both of you, is there something wrong?
Mercury: Just want to report that something weird happen earlier today. I was walking to my car after shopping for food and- (Raily interrupts by raising his right hand at Mercury)
Raily: You… drove a car? That is weird.
Mercury: Hey, I wanted to see the scenic route for once. Anyways, this man was running around in a panicked state screaming that we are under attack. Are we under attack?
Raily: If we were attack, you will be the first to know. Everything is clear on the scopes. (Lee’sa suddenly smells something)
Lee’sa: What is that smell? I almost smell like…Lavender.
Raily: That smell is coming from this. (Turns around and picks up a giant bean pod.) We found it all around the base.
Mercury: Bluu found one in our backyard. What is it?
Raily: Dr. Nain is studying one as we speak. As far as it origin, that’s unknown. The ASV Ratcliff reported finding a pod that was way bigger than this. The ship was on a return course when we lost contact with. It did enter our space, but after that it vanished. The Star Team is investigating while Bravo Team is doing a planet wide search for these pods.
Mercury: Ok, we’ll notify the Z-Fighters so we will be ready if anything happens. (Mercury and Lee’sa then get up and exits the room.) Let’s instant transmission home this time. (Lee’sa holds Mercury’s left hand)
Lee’sa: Agreed.
They both vanishes and appear in their backyard, the sun was rising as they enter the house. Mercury walks to his office types on his computer, while Lee’sa goes to check on the kids, she notice that the pod was gone. She walks up stairs and checks the rooms of Naomi, Jay and Virginia. The rooms are empty. She walks down to the living room and sees a note on the table, it was from Naomi and it reads, “Auntie is taking us to do special training at the Lookout, Love Nao.” Meanwhile, Mercury was activated his communicator on his computer.
Mercury: This is Mercury to all Z-fighters, report in. (He waits for a bit when someone responds)
Jac: This is Jac reporting in.
Mercury: Good that’s one, Cappa, Tuba, Bluu report in. (there is no response) Anyone!? (Lee’sa enters his office) Jac Stand by. (Turns toward her.)
Lee’sa: They are not here, Naomi let a note that Bluu took them to the Lookout for special training. The pod is also missing. (Mercury nods and turns to the computer.)
Mercury: Jac meet us at the Lookout on the Double.
Jac: Got it!
Mercury turns off the computer as Lee’sa place her hand on his shoulder. They instant transmission to the Lookout. Moments later Jac arrives with them. The three of them walk to the building when they see Mr. Popo coming towards them. Almost immediately, Mercury and Lee’sa notice that something was off about him. It will always smile, but this time it was blank face and they could not feel is energy.
Mr. Popo: Greetings my friends, is there something I can help you with.
Mercury: Hello Mr. Popo, we are here to check on our kids, where are they.
Mr. Popo: Oh yes, Bluu has taken them for special training, they will be done in a moment.
Lee’sa: We would like to see them now, thank you.
The three of them walk past Popo as just stands there and watch them enter into the building. Jac looks over his shoulder and see that he was still standing there.
Jac: I don’t like this; it was like he was not there.
They walk down a corridor to a closed room, Mercury and Lee’sa are relieved to feel all three of their kids’ presence, but they also felt something strange inside as well. Mercury was about to open the door when suddenly they hear a voice that startles them.
Bluu: What are you doing? (The three of them quickly turn around and see Bluu, Tuba and Cappa standing behind them.)
Jac: Where did you all come from!?
Mercury: And why didn’t you three responds to my call.
Cappa: We were... occupied. (They too stood there with blank emotionless expression. Mercury, Lee’sa and Jac did even sense their energy, it was not them)
Mercury: Uh Huh... Well, we're here to check on our kids to see if they are safe.
Tuba: We can’t allow you to impede their progress.
Lee’sa: Who are you to tell us that I can’t see my children! (Lee’sa turns around and opens the door as Mercury and Jac stand between her and other three. When she see what is inside shocks her. Three of her children are lying on beds and are being covered in green tentacles coming from a split open pod. Coming out of the pod was an incomplete duplicate of them.) Mercury! The Pods are duplicating them!
Mercury turns his head and also see what was happening. He then looks at Bluu, Tuba and Cappa and concludes that they must be duplicates as well. Lee’sa runs in rips the tentacles off of Naomi first. The duplicate next to lets out a high pitch squeal and dissolves. This seem to trigger the other duplicates. Almost immediate they began to converge on Mercury and Jac. Mercury grabs the Bluu duplicate and pushes her into the other duplicates as they fall on the ground. Jac powers up as his white aura erupts around him, but suddenly it vanishes.
Jac: What the!? I can’t power up! My power is gone!
Mercury: KAIOKEN!!! (Nothing happens) Something is dampening our powers. Quick get inside and barricade the doors!
Mercury and Jac run inside the room and blocked it with dressers that were in the room. Lee’sa just finish pulling of the tentacle from Virginia. The children were still unconscious. The room they are in has no windows, they were trapped and the Duplicates were slowly forcing their way in from outside. Lee’sa attempt to transform, but like Mercury and Jac, she couldn’t.
Jac: We’re trapped!
Lee’sa: Then we will fight our way out! (Lee’sa turns and sees Mercury feeling the walls with his hands. He would even knock on it.) What are you doing?
Mercury: Looking for structural weakness. (He knocks on one area and hears that it is hollow.) Bingo! (The door behind began to break apart as the duplicates continued working to get to them. Mercury does a one-inch punch and breaks a hole clean through the wall.) Help me with this!
Lee’sa: Step aside, I will head-butt it.
Jac: You do realize that is stone.
Lee’sa: Saiyans have hard heads. (Jac looks at Mercury who shrugs)
Mercury: Funny and true.
Lee’sa takes a few steps back and charges head first into the wall breaks open a larger hole. It was big enough for one person to climb through. Lee’sa steps back and is a little daze, but she shakes it off. She climbs through first and turns around as Mercury picks up Virginia first and had her over to Lee’sa. Jac picks up Jay gives it to Mercury; in turn he hands to Lee’sa. Mercury then climbs through the hole as Jac picks up Naomi to give to Mercury. Suddenly the Duplicates break through the barricade. Jac hands Naomi to Mercury and is seized by the duplicates. Jac fights and struggles, but is overwhelmed. Mercury was about to go back and help.
Jac: NO! Go and get help! Quarantine Earth! Get off of me! (Jac is then pulled away and disappears)
Lee’sa: We have to help Him!
Mercury: It’s too late, we have a job to do! Let get out of here. (Mercury picks up Naomi, while Lee’sa was carrying Jay and Virginia. She gets close to Mercury to touch as he tries to do the instant transmission. Nothing happens) Not even the instant transmission works. (Suddenly, both Mercury and Lee’sa hear a noise that sends chills down their spines. It was a high pitch shriek that had a mechanical sound to it. They both turn around and see Bluu point at them. He mouth wide open as the noise was emanated from her. Lee’sa see duplicates of Bravo Team including Kami and Popo running at them.)
Lee’sa: She calling for back up!
Mercury: Come on, let’s jump off the Lookout, if we can get far enough, we should be out of range from that dampener.
Lee’sa nods and they sprint to the edge of the Lookout with the Duplicates behind them. They jump and free fall down to the planet. Mercury motion over to Lee’sa and wraps his arm around Jay’s and instant transmission away.
Part two[]
The family appears in another location on the ground around a mountain range that had a large lake. There was a large brick building behind them in a large acre of land. Mercury walks to the front door and there was a keypad on the side of it. He types a code, and it opens. He walks in while carrying Naomi. Lee’sa follows behind with Jay and Virginia.
Lee’sa: What is this place?
Mercury: Our very own safe house. I started working on this four months ago. (Looks up) Activate Scenario One!
When he said that, the whole house turned on. Outside, multiple lanky robots began to come out of the ground from a secret hatch that open. They began to patrol the area and carefully look for anything that was not from Earth, which include the Pods. Inside the building, smaller leggy robots came from a secret door and performed operation like cleaning and cooking food. Mercury walks downstairs to the basement to a long corridor. After passing by three doors, he opens the fourth door to a room that had bunk beds. He places Naomi down on a bed, while Lee’sa place Jay and Virginia on the other beds.
Lee’sa: You did all this in four months? I’m Impressed.
Mercury: Thanks, now we need to send a beacon and notify the EDF that we are being invaded. I’ll go the base, while you send the beacon and watch the kids.
Lee’sa: Be careful my love. These duplicates could be the source of the power drain.
Mercury nods and then instant transmissions to the EDF Headquarters. Lee’sa walks out the room and see a robot standing guard. She asks her to the communication room and the robot showed her where to go. She found the room and works on sending a Quarantine beacon. Meanwhile, Mercury appears outside Headquarters. He runs inside and makes his way to Director Raily. He enters and see that Raily is still at his desk with Dr. Nain next to him. They both look at him
Mercury: Raily, Dr. Nain, I can confirm that we are indeed under attack. I discovered that the pods are replacing people with Duplicates! The Z-Fighters have been duplicated. We have to sound an invasion alert and get help from Parliament! (They remained silent but continued to stare at Mercury) What are you standing around for!? We need to… (Mercury suddenly realizes that he cannot sense their energy. He notices that the pod was gone. He begins to back away slowly) No. Not you too.
Raily Duplicate: Why don’t you have seat, General. (The door opens behind him the duplicates of Tien and Yamcha seize him and place him in the chair behind him and stood by. Mercury realizes that the Contingency has fallen as well.)
Mercury: Who are you? Why are you invading Earth?
Dr. Nain Duplicate: We come from a destroyed world faraway. We have drifted aimlessly in space for many centuries. That is until we were found by you.
Mercury: The Ratcliff. Why this secret invasion? If you have asked us, we would have helped you.
Dr. Nain Duplicate: We doubt that you can help us. Your species is too emotional, erratic and violent. We only offer a gift to rid you and all other species of this emotion. However, we have something special for you.
Mercury: Even if you do replace everyone on this planet, you’re too late! A quarantine beacon has been deployed and it is warning all approaching ships not to approach Earth.
Raily Duplicate: Don’t you think we already figured that out. Before that beacon was sent, we already sent ships to the designated planets. It is only a matter of time. You lost, join us and you will be reborn.
Mercury: No thanks!
Mercury elbows both Tien and Yamcha duplicates. They double over as Mercury gets up grab Tien by the head and hurls him into the Raily and Dr. Nain Duplicates. The Yamcha duplicate recovers, but Mercury hit a pressure point and knocks it unconscious. He then runs out the room and makes his way to the communication Hub. Soon the alarm rings and alerts all the other duplicates in the base about Mercury’s whereabouts. Mercury reached the Hub and seals the door behind him. He runs to the computer and types into and sends out a distress call to Space Outpost 23. He knew that it would take days for any ship from earth to reach it.
Mercury: SO-23 this is General Mercury come in.
SO-23: This is Commander Cisco, General we have received your distress call. What’s happening?
Mercury: Commander, Earth has been compromised. An alien force has replaced the most if not all denizens on Earth. They have sent multiple ships to the member planets of Parliament. You are to intercept and destroy those ships.
Commander Cisco: Understood General, but how will we know that they are the ones.
Mercury: Scan the ships for organic Ki energy or a dampening field. These duplicates are natural dampeners and have no Ki energy. (Hears a loud bang behind him as the Duplicates are trying to cut through the door.) Those are you orders Commander! Contact Parliament and notify them of the situation. Mercury out.
He turns off the console and types in an encryption to lock it down. The door structure was weakening. He looks up to a ventilation shaft in the corner of the room. He runs to it and removes the vent and crawls inside and replaces the vent behind him. He crawls through the shaft, and he looks down through a vent sees duplicate EDF soldiers run down the corridor looking for him. He crawls and finds the vent to the Armory. He looks around and see that it is vacant. He opens the vent and drops down. He goes to the locker and opens it revealing a full body armor with an enclosed helmet. Mercury puts on the suit and closes the helmet so no one will see him. He then walks out the room into the corridor. A group of duplicates pass by him and continue on, it worked. Mercury makes his way out on to the airfield and see that the entire base has been replace by duplicates. He sees lines upon lines of duplicate carrying the pods and placing them on Trucks and aerial transports. He then sees a group of personnel being hauled to the medical area. He soon realized that this group which consist of 20 personnel were not duplicates, for some of them were resisting over there. Mercury walks over to them and follows them. He follows the group inside a building to a medical ward. Inside he saw beds lined up with victims sleeping and being wrapped in the vines of the pod and being duplicated. He also sees that when someone is fully duplicated the original vanishes, like they are being teleported. Mercury felt little relief that the originals are sent somewhere. However where are they going? He recognizes one of the personnel who name was Dr. Wheelo. He was sitting on a cot next to his pod when Mercury approached him.
Mercury: Dr. Wheelo?
Dr. Wheelo: Let me guess, I will be a new man? (Mercury leans closer to him and opens his visor to his helmet and whispers)
Mercury: How about a free man?
Dr. Wheelo: General!? You’re still you? What a relief that the Z-fighters still with us.
Mercury: Actually, it just me and Lee’sa, but we were able to send a beacon to warn ships not to come here, and parliament is notified of the situation.
Dr. Wheelo: That’s good hear. However, we need to get out of here.
Mercury: Leave that to me. Just find a way to get out of here without tracking you. Once you do, go to Grid-257.
Dr. Wheelo: Wait, What’s the signal? (Mercury walks away from him and towards the entrance. He takes off his helmet)
Mercury: HEY! CATCH ME IF YOU CAN! (He then darts out the room. One of the duplicates lets out a shriek warning the others as most duplicates pursue him.)
Dr. Wheelo: I guess that’s the signal.
With most of the duplicate in the ward pursuing Mercury, only a few was left, and they were less than the originals. They attack and subdue the duplicates and proceed to leave the ward. However, Dr. Wheelo takes a Pod with him. Meanwhile, Mercury burst through the doors outside and begins to run across the airfield. He heard more shrieks from the duplicates as more began to chase him. He runs over to a truck that had no pods in it and stops. He turns around and watches the duplicates get closer to him. However, he was far way enough where he felt power come to him. He stretches his hand fires a ki wave at one of the aerial transport ship preparing to launch. The beam impact and destroy the transport.
Mercury: There goes 2 billion Zeni.
He continues to run away from the duplicates all around the airfield, then he hears an unusual sound, suddenly a rope latter drops above him. He looks up and see XSAT-1 Stealth transport with the remaining EDF personnel on board. He grabs the rope and is lifted into the air away from the Duplicates. As they pull the rope up, Mercury is hit in the back. He grunts and freezes up for someone shot a stun dart the shocks him. He falls off the rope back down to the ground as the duplicates surround him. The transport flies away without him to Grid-257. On the Ground, the duplicates seize Mercury and bring him to his feet. Then they stand there without moving. It was like they are waiting for something. Mercury dazed from the stun shot but regain his composure.
Mercury: Aw crap! Now, I’m going to be duplicated. (Then he hears a voice speak out from the crowd of duplicates)
???: Oh no, we have something special for you, Mercury. (The crowd of duplicates split down the middle and reveals a lone person standing there. Mercury knew something was different about this person, he could sense its energy)
Mercury: Who are you?
???: Don’t you even recognize my voice? After all those times we spent together, and you have forgotten me. Of course, the Great Mercury would forget me! (The person moves closer to Mercury until he finally see who it is)
Mercury: Cruze?
Cruze: Yes. (Her appearance was different. Her lab coat was dirty and tattered. Her skin is green and her once amber colored eyes are now red. Her red hair is now messy, and, on her skin, he could see green veins.)
Mercury: What happen, you must have been the first victim to the Pod.
Cruze: Oh, I’m not a victim, I’m the cause. I am the queen of the pods now. We became one.
Mercury: You let yourself be taken!? Why?
Cruze: For the past decades, I watch you rise to fame. Mercury the champion, Mercury the war hero, Mercury the savior of the galaxy! That belonged to me, and you stole that from me!
Mercury: You never changed all these years. I still see a lost child who never learned her lesson. (Mercury was expected this to irritate her, but to his surprise, she was calm, and the insults bounce off of her.) Ok, maybe you have changed a little. But you’re too late. This planet has been quarantined and Parliament is already warned about the ships you have sent.
Cruze: Why do you resist when we are trying to help? All we want is to truly unite this galaxy and to become one. (Mercury notices that this does not sound like Cruze. I was like her motives took a 180.)
Mercury: Why do you want to help us all of a sudden? (Cruze was about to answer but she grunts a little like she was pain.)
Cruze: You’re wasting my time. I have something special planned for you. You’re going to help me?
Mercury: Like I will help you take over my home! (Cruze approaches Mercury with sinister grin.)
Cruze: You don’t have a choice.
