The Dragons of the Dawn are a group of Makyans who came to Earth with other members of their species hundreds of years before Dragon Ball. Unlike most other Makyans, they weren't evil. They fought against Garlic and Garlic Jr. Notably, they also stood against Togarashi during the events of Nineteen Assassins, resulting in that generation's Dragons almost going extinct.
History[]
In November Age 752, while Charles, Jared, and Silver talked on the yacht known as the Chum Dumpster off the coast of the far southern island of Akki, a knock came at the door, startling everyone. Looking out the window, Jared realized who it was and let him in while Charles poured himself another shot. The mysterious man was hooded, though he had burning golden eyes. Jared greeted him, barely hiding his fear. The hooded figure revealed the Rebel King of Nowhere, known as Togarashi, was planning on leaving Akki in three days. If he was allowed to, many would die and the hooded man promised to reveal his organization to the world.
Jared wondered how he knew this. The hooded man said Togarashi was waging war not only against humankind, but against his own species as well. He had killed the Dragons of the East and South and had mortally wounded the Dragon of the West (whoever they were). Charles didn't understand what he meant by dragons, having never seen any on the island. The hooded man explained he was part of an order called the Dragons of the Dawn. Silver didn't want to get into that, shifting the conversation to their plan of destroying Akki with a nuclear bomb as a means to kill Togarashi. He warned the Dragon of the North and any of his remaining allies to relocate to another island immediately. The hooded man said he'd travel to the southern islands in the Crimson Fingers if required. He asked Silver to kill Togarashi for the sake of humanity before leaving.
Later, the Dragon of the North thanked Master Shen for killing Togarashi. Shen's rudeness led to him leaving before offering the man training, however.
In Sandboys, Master Roshi caught a glimpse of a Dragon of the Dawn on a beach, though he didn't know who that guy was.
In Girl, the Dragons of the Dawn confronted Olivien outside of a club in West City. They had mistakenly believed that he was Nir, who was prophesied to save the world. The Makyans transported him to their lair deep in the southern islands of the world. There, in a rocky alcove, they tested him to see if he was the 'One', whatever that meant. They argued over whether or not he was for a while, then one of the hooded men stepped forward and thrust his arm out. Olivien was not ready, nor powered up. The kiai cracked his ribs and sent him flying back. The Makyans confirmed that he was not in fact the person they were looking for and transported him back to the street he had been standing on in West City.
