Dragon Ball Z: Destructive Blast is a DBZ fighting game created by VICIOUS (formerly and later known as Brutal Studios) for the Sega Saturn. It was released in Japan and the UK, and later released in North America with the option to turn on the Japanese voices....

Overview[]

DBDB Goku vs Vegeta

Goku shooting a Kamehameha at Vegeta.

Destructive Blast contains 12 characters from the anime Dragon Ball Z, 8 original and 4 unlockables. Most unlockables are Super Saiyan forms of characters, while some are forms such as Oozaru, or Cell and Frieza in their final forms.

The stages each feature day and night cycles, allowing characters like Bardock and Kid Goku to become Great Apes and later, Super Saiyan 4s.

The gameplay is simple, with energy attacks taking up Ki and a very simple health bar. In order to enter the air, you must be hit up there. Flying does not cost ki, and as characters in different Transformations are seperate characters, transformations cause little to no ki loss. However, special attacks such as the Spirit Bomb or the Super Galick Gun cost a sizable amount.
