Dragon Ball Keisho 継承 (ドラゴンボール継承, Doragon Bōru Keisho), abbreviated as DBK, is a fan-made series based on Dragon Ball written on the Dragon Ball Fanon Wiki. The series is written by Angeloading and consists of 164 total episodes split into two parts that are currently being expanded upon as of 2024. The series acts as a canon-respecting story within the same timeline as the original series, taking place in the far future to avoid conflicting stories with the canon timeline.

Dragon Ball Keisho 継承 was created with the intention of capturing the adventurous and martial arts feel of Dragon Ball, while keeping the same action-packed fights of its' sequel, Dragon Ball Z.

Overview[]

Plot[]

Over two hundred years have passed since the defeat of Majin Buu at the hands of the Z-Fighters, and the people of Planet Earth have enjoyed a prolonged period of relative peace, with many generations of martial artists coming and going as the defenders of Earth... as well as those who wish to create chaos everywhere they go. The story of Dragon Ball Keisho 継承 follows the lives of a few of Earth's new martial artists in Age 991 including Jin Judoka, Kenju Zu, Sei-Sen, and Hoshi throughout their adventures and various deathly battles in their journeys to be declared "Strongest Under the Heavens".

Production[]

Dragon Ball Keisho 継承 is written entirely on the Dragon Ball Fanon Wiki, separated into two parts that consist of five saga/story arcs in total. Currently, "episodes" are released in the form of separate important scenes that are listed under an episode number and the saga that they take place in, with each scene being sorted under each saga page listed below.

The Tenkaichi Budokai arena

The arrival of the Tenkaichi Budokai, a long-lasting traditional martial arts tournament held every three years to determine the "Strongest Under the Heavens" is coming soon. The world's best martial arts dojos, the Turtle School led by Master Kashi, Crane Style Dojo led by Master Iguru, and Wolf Style Dojo led by Master Renji send their greatest to compete for the prestigious title. The 97th Tenkaichi Budokai, taking place in Age 991, is one for the books, with many young prodigies participating in epic clashes between each other. Ultimately, Wolf Style Dojo student Sei-Sen is declared the "Strongest Under the Heavens" after defeating Crane Style Dojo student Kenju Zu in the final.

This saga marks the beginning of an intense rivalry between Jin Judoka and Kenju Zu, two warriors with a history against each other, as well as the new life of main character Jin Judoka in the Wolf Style Dojo after being freed from his life as an assassin, ending with his accidental killing of his master. Now with Jin Judoka as a teammate, Sei-Sen and the rest of the Wolf Style Dojo begin training for the road ahead, with Jin Judoka promising to himself that he will defeat Kenju Zu one day and win the title himself after losing to him in the semi-final.

Soundtrack[]

The soundtrack of Dragon Ball Keishō 継承 is a mix of the tones of Dragon Ball's OST and the Funimation Dub of Dragon Ball Z's character themes, with a more wholesome, adventurous tone in a hybrid with fast-paced, action-packed tone during battles, at certain times having hints of rap and metal.

Trivia[]

  • If it were assumed that Dragon Ball Keisho 継承 were a canon continuation to the Dragon Ball storyline, it would be the first series that does not consist of any Saiyan characters.
  • The story is a group effort with a few of my friends creating the other characters, and I ultimately publish it all on here for us all to most likely laugh at together in 10 years.
  • The story is a mix of Dragon Ball's fight choreography and adventurous tone, with Dragon Ball Z's sense of action and "modernity".
