Carawa (ケラワ, Kerawa) is a Saibaman owned by Ledas. When he was given to the Saiyan by Captain Banas, he was already in his red form, indicating he was a Saibaman of significant power and experience. Carawa is a secondary character in Dragon Ball Z: The Forgotten and Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon.

History[]

Dragon Ball Z: The Forgotten[]

Lauto Saga[]

Carawa was one of Ledas' red Saibaman who survived the raid on the rebels. His name is a pun on caraway. He was the third in command, under Wilde and (of course) Ledas. He led the small vanguard forces ahead of the main forces in a feint to lure out the soldiers. While this ploy worked, it cost Carawa almost his entire Saibamen team; with only he, Ses, Ame, and Sonfla surviving from that group. Indeed, their survival was only because of Carawa's ability to create many small ki blasts, which ended up killing quite a few of the rebels. He was particularly friendly toward Wilde, who was the only other red Saibaman at the time.

Planet Earth Saga[]

He spent his days sparring with his fellow Saibamen during Ledas' search for Earth. Carawa accompanied Ledas to Earth, and trained in his Gravity Suppression Unit along with him. During Ledas' battle with Piccolo, Carawa was accidentally released from his seed-form. He wreaked havoc on the remains of the town that Ledas earlier blew up, and killed many fleeing humans. When Wilde asked him to flee with him, Carawa was the first Saibamen to agree with him. He later killed Poy, when Poy attempted to attack Wilde.

Fulfillment Saga[]

Carawa was seen in final two chapters of this saga, training in Ledas' gravity training unit with his fellow Saibamen. By this point, his strength had grown far beyond that of a normal Saibaman's, and he was extremely loyal to Ledas.

Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon[]

West City Saga[]

On May 30, Age 774, Ses was in the kitchen trying to fill a glass of water. Jia entered, screaming upon seeing Ses. The Saibaman fled out the back door in distress, dropping his glass, and leaving the sink running. Jia tried to apologize, but he was long gone. After calling over a CLEAN-BOT to clean up the broken glass, she looked out the window, watching Wilde and Carawa sunbathe in the backyard while Ses and Ame sparred in front of them, thinking to herself how crazy this was.

On June 1st, Ledas, Chiaki, and Ryori returned home from school. Ledas snagged a mango from the tree in the front yard before Carawa popped out of the bushes, running over to greet them. Chiaki freaked out, but Ledas assuaged his fears by telling him that Carawa was part of his pack of domesticated Saibamen. Chiaki believed they were dinosaurs. Jia, having heard Chiaki's scream, opened the door and let them in. Hachi and Chiwan were inside. Hachi was petrified of Carawa. Ledas apologized for taking so long, Chiaki explaining that Ledas had been in a martial arts street fight. Jia brought them a platter of food, also giving Ledas a bowl of hot and sour soup spiked with poison before excusing herself. Chiaki thanked her, calling her "Mrs. Hareki". Ryori told him that Jia was their caretaker and was not related to him. Nevertheless, Ledas complimented her and called her part of the crew, which touched Jia deeply.

Ledas recounted his bout against Master Kamome as Jia retreated to her room. The kids got to work on their scheme, Ryori taking the lead on breaking into Kairyupin's apartment. He told them about how he used to pull the fire alarm inside apartment complexes (after leaving convincing, smoldering evidence) with Shoekki, which had worked well in the past. While slurping down his soup, Ledas said that if that didn't work, he had a foolproof backup plan. When Chiwan pressed him, Ledas refused to answer, stating that if Ryori's plan worked, nobody would ever know what he had intended. Chiwan asked Hachi to accompany Chiaki to the school to search Kairyupin's office while they went to her apartment.

However, they didn't know how to break into an office, so Ledas suggested they take his Saibamen with them. Ryori thought the Saibamen could break through a window and replace it after the kids were done searching the room. Ledas promised the Saibamen would listen to Chiaki and Hachi. Carawa jumped up from the couch, raising his juice box to the air, confirming he'd help. Hachi was scared of Carawa, but Ledas told him the Saibamen wouldn't hurt his friends no matter what.

Without warning, Ledas shuddered and ran to the trashcan, vomiting up the soup. He cursed Jia for preparing something that he assumed had gone bad before returning to the couch to fill his belly up again with mozzarella sticks.

That night, Chiaki hopped the fence into the school grounds, whistling for the Saibamen to follow him over. They carried a piece of glass with them. They found Hachi standing outside of Kairyupin's office. Hachi told Chiaki that the janitor hadn't been around for like half an hour, so they should be good to go. Hachi expressed trepidation, unsure of whether they should go forward with the plan. Chiaki told him to run home if he didn't have the stomach for the operation. He noted that Hachi was nothing like his sister. Hachi wondered if Chiaki had a thing for Chiwan, which the other boy didn't deny. Hachi said he had no chance with her. Chiaki laughed at him, saying that he'd love to date Chiwan if she were down for it.

Changing subjects, Chiaki handed Hachi a rock, asking him to break the office window. Hachi was about to do it when Carawa rushed forward, grunting at them to stop. He melted the window with a ki blast, the sand blowing away in the wind. Ses got rid of the remaining sand with a hand vacuum. Hachi freaked out; Chiaki tried to calm the other boy down, reminding him that they had a job to do. He jumped through the open window, Hachi reluctantly following.

A few minutes later, Hachi and Chiaki returned Kairyupin's papers to her drawers and folders, having not found the answer key. Chiaki texted Chiwan as much. They noticed the janitor's flashlight approaching. In a panic, the boys fled out the open window. The Saibamen replaced the window, although it became immediately apparent that the glass was an inch and a half too short. Chiaki yelled at Hachi for forgetting to measure the part of the glass that went up under the frame. They ran off, jumping the fence. The janitor yelled from behind, seeing something. The Saibamen followed them over the fence soon after.

Chiaki knew Kairyupin would notice what happened to the window, but she wouldn't be able to prove they had done it. He gave the Saibamen cold-pressed 100% organic kiwi juice as a reward, then got out of there.

The next day, Carawa watched Jia talk to police officers in the front yard. She told them she wasn't housing leprechauns in her backyard, although she had Capsule Corp. tech. The police apologized for bothering her, noting that crazy neighbors were common in big cities. Jia stated that if the neighbor called the cops on her again, she'd seek a restraining order against her.

On the night of June 4th, Jia and the Saibamen watched 90 Day Fiancé. The doorbell rang. Wilde paused the show. The five resumed their show after Ryori came home and went to bed.

On the evening of June 5th, as the sun went down, the Saibamen packed up their chairs and headed inside. Later, Jia, Carawa, Ryori, and Ledas played monopoly. After Carawa lost most of his money to Jia, he rage quit, running down the hall screeching while the others watched The Three Stooges, having a grand old time.

On June 9th Ses, Ame, Wilde, and Carawa played in the backyard while the old vaping woman watched them via a drone. Wilde and Carawa sparred while Ses and Ame sunbathed and drank pineapple juice. The woman streamed her feed on her channel to her followers, ranting about the Saibamen potentially damaging the fence. She read several super chats, continuing to watch the Saibamen spar.

A few minutes later, the Kiseibachi attacked Ledas as he slept in the backyard. The Saibamen, who had also been sleeping in the backyard, noticed their master in distress. Wilde rallied the troops to his defense. Ses caught Ledas' body as it was flung around. He tried to create an energy barrier but wasn't strong enough to prevent the Kiseibach from breaking through. Ame too could not withstand the swarm. Wilde and Carawa faired slightly better, but they were on the back foot. Ledas woke up, not understanding why he couldn't move. Coming to his senses, Ledas felt a deep, protective sense for his Saibamen overcoming him. The Saibamen continued to guard him as best they could. They were bleeding now. Ledas tried with all his might to get up.

Ses and Ame were ripped to shreds by the Kiseibachi, killing them instantly. Screaming in dismay, Ledas used all his strength to break free of the paralysis, rising to the air and releasing an explosive wave that destroyed the remaining Kiseibachi. Ledas gained movement from this, returning to the ground. Wilde and Carawa scampered over to him, crying out for vengeance. Ledas promised them he'd avenge Ses and Ame, closing his eyes, sensing for that place he'd felt his energy before. He promised he'd kill whoever was responsible. Rising into the air, Ledas shot off, flying with grim urgency to Central City.

On June 16th, Wilde and Carawa sparred in the backyard while the old vaping woman filmed them from over the fence, ranting to herself about how horrible they were. As they battled one another, the two began changing into the next Saibaman form. Their bodies turned blue, the force of their transformations knocking the old woman away. Gleefully, the Saibamen rushed off into the bushes, continuing their friendly quarrel.

On June 21st, while Jia, Ledas, and Ryori celebrated the boys graduating seventh-grade in the kitchen, Jia poured Carawa a cup of juice. The Saibaman took his prize and scurried off.

Chasers Can't Be Choosers[]

In the first scene of chapter 1, on June 25, Age 776, Beelzebub, Ledas, Ryori, and Carawa visited the Moxabalan Asteroid Belt. This was three days after capturing their first bounty together, Lily-Livered Lugabalos, who had commanded a bounty of ₩7,500,000. Theo informed them that the asteroid belt contained many restaurants. In celebration of their recent success, Ledas asked him to consult Space Yelp and take them to the highest-rated restaurant. Theo piloted them to the parking lot of Salty Salpico. Ryori was dubious of the name, though Ledas was able to convince him to join them inside after promising to vaporize the place if Ryori got food poisoning from it.

Inside, Beelzebub scanned the area with his galactic datapad, finding that no one with a significant bounty had been inside there in over three months. Beelz knew they needed to capture as many bounties as possible to be able to buy a planet on which to establish their galactic outpost. Beelzebub grew annoyed at a trio of frog-faced aliens singing karaoke poorly, trying his best not to let them distract him. He noticed there were not many people in the restaurant. Several were passed out at their tables after consuming too much alcohol, while a few more were lounging at the bar. Beelz was sad that none of the patrons were women.

A Faerin server brought them to their booth and handed out menus. Ledas was set on ordering a Pomuhedra smoothie, while Beelzebub eyed the barbeque galin wings. Carawa ordered a hegodorian smoothie with whipped cream. Ryori and Beelz ordered a bottle of Seplaro rum as well as several other bottles of alcohol. The Faerin server carded both of them. Ryori presented a fake ID that stated he was twenty-two years old (he had used his age adjuster for the picture). The Faerin had never seen a human before, so he allowed Ryori to drink.

He took Beelzebub's Demon Realm driver's license and was shocked to learn he was apparently 2515 years old. The server was ready to call shenanigans until Beelzebub informed him he was a demon. He allowed him to drink, calling him "Fiend Prince" Beelzebub, which had been his official title on his driver's license. Ledas found that highly amusing. Beelz informed him that that title had been given to him at birth. Ryori thought Beelzebub was the King of the Demon Realm, but he explained that he hadn't held the official ceremony yet. He invited Ryori and Ledas to it, whenever it was to happen.

After receiving their drinks, the crew toasted their last success and got drunk (sans Ledas). Letting the alcohol sink in, the boys began arguing about the name of their bounty hunting group. Beelzebub and Ryori preferred Demon Hunters Incorporated™, but Ledas was vehemently against it.

Just then, Akashiyaki entered the restaurant, immediately running over to the nearest table and stealing food off someone's plate. Beelzebub scanned him with the datapad, learning that Akashiyaki had a ₩8,500,000 bounty on his head for hundreds of counts of stealing food, inking pools, swimming while drunk, and stealing newspapers from libraries. Importantly, he was wanted alive, not dead. Ryori pushed Akashiyaki away when he drew near their table, denying him the opportunity to steal their galin wings. Beelzebub realized he wasn't a fighter.

He decided to take the lead, confronting Akashiyaki at the bar (while an irate customer was ranting at the octopus). Revealing he knew Akashiyaki had a bounty on his head, Beelz informed him he was going to take him in. Upon hearing this, the octopus grew anxious, inking Beelzebub in the face before fleeing. The move had taken the Fiend Prince by surprise; he was unable to wipe the ink out of his eyes before Akashiyaki got away. Ledas walked over, amused. Beelzebub was none too pleased that he'd allowed Akashiyaki to get away. Ledas reminded him that he'd promised to capture the bounty. He wasn't going to step in. Beelzebub demanded they pursue Akashiyaki to wherever he was headed, reminding Ledas that he was wanted alive.

Ledas tried to lighten the mood by calling Akashiyaki an "octopussy", but the joke didn't land with Ryori. Beelzebub found it amusing. Ryori and Carawa scarfed down their food so that they could leave in a timely manner.

In the parking lot, Ledas threw the capsule containing his ship, and they scurried inside, Beelzebub saying that he would capture Akashiyaki, asking Ledas to take a supportive role, which he obliged to do.

In the second scene, a few minutes later, Theodosius tracked Akashiyaki through space. Beelzebub was at the command console, watching this go down while Carawa played on his Switch on the couch and Ledas and Ryori set up the massage table. Theo stated that Akashiyaki was headed to Chelbalos, which was located 5.3 light-years away. He estimated they'd reach the planet in approximately four hours.

Beelz asked for a rundown of the planet and a close-up of Akashiyaki's ship. Theo provided the close-up. Beelz told everyone else to remember what that looked like. Ledas was nonchalant, soaking in his massage, barely paying attention. Ryori found that most endearing. Theo gave them a run-down of the planet, noting that the city of Torgbos was a dry town. Halcuria, the only other city on the planet, was a casino town that featured many bars and Nil lounges.

Ledas proposed they start searching there. He would search Torgbos while Ryori, Carawa, and Beelz would search Halcuria for Akashiyaki. Beelzebub offered up a bet. Whoever found Akashiyaki first would win a meal from the other. Ledas took him on. Beelz came over, telling them about Akashiyaki's rapsheet. He had been hit with 581 counts of swimming while intoxicated, 384 counts of stealing food without paying, 98 counts of inking the pool, and 65 counts of stealing newspapers from galactic libraries.

After finishing massaging Ledas, Ryori offered to massage Beelzebub. Beelzebub denied him that request, believing he was a shit masseuse. Ryori offered everyone a cup of pineapple-mango juice. Carawa, Beelzebub, and Ledas desired the drink. When he poured Ledas', he splashed a droplet of Bitrex into it, gleefully attempting to troll Ledas. Carawa, Beelz, and Ryori took their drinks, while Ledas remained on the massage table. He needed to cool off after what Ryori had done to him.

Once he did, he came over to the command console to retrieve his juicy prize. After taking a swig, he retched, dropping the glass to shatter on the ground as he vomited. Ledas ran over to the sink, grabbing a handful of paper towels to wipe off his tongue. Ryori told him about the Bitrex.

Ledas was not amused by the prank. Ryori admitted he had only gotten the Bitrex from Shoekki, who'd confiscated it at the security screening checkpoint at Dream Land. He had been curious to see if it was as bitter as advertised. Afterward, they played Smash, with Beelzebub claiming Mr. Satan, as he was a most overpowered character in that game.

In the first scene of chapter 2, Beelzebub, Ledas, Ryori, and Carawa landed at the Halcuria space port in Chelbalos. A port attendant tried to get them to pay the docking fee, but Ledas returned the spaceship to a capsule and refused. When the attendant insisted they pay, Beelzebub used Stone Spit to turn the man into stone, promising to reverse the process after they left the planet. Ledas and Ryori found the technique very cool.

Outside, they found the city thrumming with life. Beelzebub was overwhelmed by how colorful everything was and how packed the streets were. Ledas said his goodbyes, noting that he was going to search the city of Torgbos while they searched Halcuria. He asked them to call him if they ran into any problems. Then, he kicked off into the sky, disappearing in a flash.

Beelz, Ryori, and Carawa began their search for Akashiyaki. Moving amongst the crowds, they found a casino called Flying Aces and went inside to continue their investigation. Beelzebub asked Ryori not to get involved if they found Akashiyaki, as he could be killed in the scuffle, which would be annoying to deal with. Ryori said he'd just film the encounter and play slots. Beelzebub rebuked him, saying they needed all of their woolongs to buy a planet so they could establish an intergalactic base. Ryori didn't back down, causing Beelz to threaten to turn him to stone. Ryori didn't believe him, noting that if he did that, Ledas would kill him. Beelzebub backed down, asking him not to gamble away too much money.

Inside the casino, they got distracted by a VR video game setup, with Ryori playing Lot Lizard Simulator 14 and Beelzebub playing Local God of a Medium-sized Backwater World. Carawa took videos of them playing with Ryori's phone. Just then, Cavatel and Saccottine, a pair of bounty hunters, came over and began playing the game with Beelzebub. Beelz grew annoyed, as they were far better than him. After losing the game, Beelzebub was ready to leave when Cavatel bet him ₩40,000 to play again. His pride couldn't allow him to sulk off, so he tried to beat Cavatel again. Of course, he lost, which was to be expected. Saccottine offered him double or nothing on another game, but he refused to play anymore, as he had noticed Ryori had drifted over to the slot machines and needed to stop him from blowing all their money.

Beelz tried to get Ryori to stop betting so much, but he refused. After he hit a decent prize, Beelzebub briefly got transfixed on the slots as well. However, they didn't hit another big prize, which drained their money, and he grew impatient with the game.

He noticed an employee in a fancy suit and walked over to him to ask him about Akashiyaki. The man was the casino's floor manager. He explained Akashiyaki's game and showed the man a holographic projection of what he looked like. The floor manager recognized the octopus, saying he had created a commotion in the Spordadios restaurant on the third floor of the casino about three hours earlier before being chased out by security.

Beelzebub suspected Akashiyaki was still in the city, so he whistled for Ryori to join him. Cavatel and Saccottine overheard them discussing their plan and came over. Cavatel had heard of Akashiyaki before, declaring he would catch the thief. Beelzebub told him to buzz off. Cavatel was most surprised that Beelz was a bounty hunter. Ryori told them Beelzebub was the Prince of the Demon Realm, but they didn't seem to believe him. Neither side backed down, so Beelzebub threatened to kill them if they didn't leave him alone. Cavatel was unfazed, agreeing to fight Beelzebub to the death.

Beelz threw himself at Cavatel, destroying a slot machine. They began to fight, at which point the floor manager, flanked by a large group of security guards, confronted them, demanding they leave the premises, as fighting was not allowed. Beelzebub apologized and left the building, Ryori and Carawa on his heels.

Outside, Cavatel and Saccottine confronted him again. Cavatel reminded his companion that he was about to use his ace move, Paralyzing Resonance. Beelzebub had no clue what that was. His fight with Cavatel commenced at once. Ryori filmed it on his phone while Saccottine and Carawa watched. Cavatel's speed took Beelzebub by surprise, allowing him to land several blows. As Beelzebub grew into the fight, he began to put Cavatel on the defensive. Just then, Cavatel used his Paralyzing Resonance, which was a kiai-style attack, to paralyze Beelzebub. While Beelzebub was paralyzed, Cavatel hit him several times.

When the Paralyzing Resonance's power waned, Beelzebub charged up to his maximum power and began to fight the shrimpy man again. He was about to overwhelm him when Cavatel used Paralyzing Resonance again. Saccottine jumped into the fight, slamming Beelzebub into the side of a building. As he struggled to get up, Beelzebub was hit with another Paralyzing Resonance. This one almost knocked him unconscious. Cavatel and Saccottine hit him repeatedly while he was paralyzed, draining his stamina. When he regained his movement, Cavatel just hit him with another Paralyzing Resonance (he was an unrepentant spammer) before punching him into a wall. Bystanders all around were fleeing in terror.

Cavatel threw Beelz onto the ground, forcing him to give up chasing Akashiyaki. Beelzebub pleaded for his life. Cavatel warned him not to pursue the octopus again, as next time, he wouldn't be so forgiving. The bounty hunters regrouped, thinking that Akashiyaki had already left the planet. They quickly flew off, hoping to catch him in the next world.

Beelzebub told Ryori that he had lied and that he was still going to pursue Akashiyaki. Ryori didn't believe he could beat the bounty hunters, thinking the fight was best left to Ledas. Beelz rejected that, stating he could easily beat the bounty hunters if he had access to his Power of Darkness. He explained that he could access the state after absorbing moonlight. Beelzebub began the ritual, which Ryori filmed, instantly feeling his body rejuvenate and surge with power.

In the second scene, after Ledas scoured Torgbos for Akashiyaki, he flew back to Halcuria and contacted Beelzebub, updating him on Akashiyaki's whereabouts. He waited for them at the Halcuria space port. When they arrived, he tossed Ryori a water bottle and asked what had happened to Beelzebub, as he was beat up. Ryori told him about the fight against the bounty hunters. Beelzebub promised that if they came across those men again, he would kill them. He also said that as a demon, he could regenerate incredibly fast, so he'd be good to go within a few hours at most.

Inside, the group planned their next move. Beelz thought they should ambush Akashiyaki in a restaurant, as that's where he always seemed to gravitate toward. He also complained about having Ryori tag along with him, as it slowed him down. Ledas reminded Ryori that he didn't have to stick around with them, as Carawa was his bodyguard (and stronger than most people in the universe), but if he wanted to, that was cool too.

Ryori revealed he had won ₩432,000 at the slots. Ledas had not known he was a degenerate gambler. Ledas threw Ryori another water bottle. They were drinking as much as they could.

Beelzebub booted up Theo as they took off, asking for them to be taken to the nearest planet. Harbolian was located 2.4 light-years away and had a sizeable population, so they set their sights there. Beelzebub asked Ledas and Ryori why they were drinking so much water. Ledas advised him that he wouldn't want to know. Beelzebub lamented how water was a precious resource in the Demon Realm, and it appeared Ledas and Ryori were wasting tons. Ledas promised they weren't, which unnerved Beelz.

In the first scene of chapter 3, Beelzebub, Ledas, Ryori, and Carawa visited the Mollusk Munching Madness restaurant on Harbolian. They had been searching around the planet for Akashiyaki (mostly in restaurants), but hadn't found him yet. Disheartened and hungry, they decided to get a bite to eat before continuing their search. When they ordered, Ledas complained about the price. Beelz reminded him that they had run out of their supplies from Earth, which quickly made him shut up.

It wasn't long before they received their food. Beelzebub thought it was mediocre at best. He wasn't the biggest seafood fan. His mind began to wander. He grew anxious about catching Akashiyaki. Ledas tried to quell his nerves, reminding him that the bounty's price had updated only a few minutes ago after Akashiyaki had terrorized a restaurant called Palumbo’s, which was not far from them. Since Akashiyaki had been kicked out, he would likely be looking for another restaurant to have fun in, which was why it was for the best they remained where they were. Ledas was just surprised he couldn't sense the octopus. Ki suppression was a wild skill for someone as weak as him to possess.

Ryori didn't like the food, rating it three out of ten. Beelzebub thought he was being overly harsh, giving the restaurant a seven out of ten. They began to bicker when the front door opened, and in strode Akashiyaki. He wasted no time in snatching a bulocalamari stick from a woman. She was none too pleased with the theft. He ate it in front of her without a care in the world. Beelz leapt into the air, landing between the woman and Akashiyaki. Without mercy, he pummeled the octopus onto the floor and tied him up with ki-restraining space steel zip ties.

Ledas walked over, gleeful over the space woolongs they'd get for turning him in. Akashiyaki begged them to let him go. Beelzebub wasn't having it. The irate woman demanded that Akashiyaki pay for a new bulocalamari stick. She also wanted a refund in general because of the so-called terrible service. Beelz asked her to go away and deal with that herself, as she was a hideous swamp creature who was foul to look upon. After giving him a death stare, the woman marched off, screaming for a manager.

Akashiyaki pleaded with Leeds and Beelz to let him go, offering to pay three times his bounty. They didn't believe he had the money, telling him that his bounty had risen to ₩10,200,000. Beelzebub confirmed the price by showing Akashiyaki his datapad. Akashiyaki told them to take his space debit card out of his pocket and withdraw the money from his account. He told them the PIN, promising he had enough money to pay for his release. Ledas and Beelzebub left with Akashiyaki to get the money while Ryori and Carawa finished their meals.

Later, the boys regrouped with Ryori and Carawa, bringing them up to speed on the situation. Beelzebub wanted to leave at once, while Ryori wanted to stay and experience the Great Palgam Bocchi Festival. Ledas backed his fiancé, which grated on Beelzebub's nerves. It was, however, two votes against one, so there was nothing he could do. Beelzebub was none too pleased. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to relent.

In the second scene, moments later, the four entered the festival, which was in full swing and packed with people. They started off trying a bunch of the street food before Ledas spotted the shack containing a guy who could smoke a hundred Nil sticks at once. They decided to check it out. They had to wear gas masks, and it cost ₩1500 apiece to enter (they didn't bother buying one for Akashiyaki). They found a crocodilian alien inside. His snout was adorned with more Nil sticks than they could count. The guy didn't really do anything, though, except make repetitive poses, so the gang left.

They returned to the street vendors, loading up on food samples. Ledas and Ryori had some alcohol. Ledas even gave Akashiyaki two shots to make him more malleable. Beelz refused to have any, as he was worried about the octopus man getting away. On the next street, they played a game of mudstick slappy for ₩1200 apiece. Ryori came in third place. They had to get hosed off afterward, which kind of sucked since the water was cold.

They came across an area where people could feed a Metalman pails of lava. There was a burn unit and a children's burn unit for those who got a bit of lava on them. The group was not interested in participating. Next, they watched a procession of naked dancers come down the street as music played. Most of them were women, which Beelzebub and Ledas enjoyed. Ryori found the display grotesque. They remained there until the dancers moved onto the next street.

Ledas noticed a fortunetelling hut located nearby that he wanted to visit. Beelzebub said that fortunetelling was fake, which, of course, Ledas knew. He just wanted to see what nonsense the guy inside came up with. Beelzebub agreed to take part if they left the planet afterward. Ledas said they would.

The fortuneteller's name was Ulcerin. He charged ₩7500 per customer. Before they entered the building, Ledas asked them not to help Ulcerin with his readings or tell him anything he says is wrong. Only then could they understand the depth of his nonsense. Ulcerin was a fat man who wore an extreme amount of jewelry. He had a partially absorbed parasitic twin poking out from his stomach. The head could blink and open its mouth, but it could not talk. It watched them.

Ryori went first. Ulcerin told him he could become a fashion and adult content photographer if he reached his full potential. Otherwise, he would be a construction worker or mass-production sculptor. Ledas stepped up next. Ulcerin stated that if Ledas was lazy and did not reach his potential, he would amount to nothing more than a bartender and part-time gloryhole operator. If he did achieve his goals, he could become a galaxy-renowned space opera singer. Ledas thanked him for the reading, lying that becoming a singer had been his life's dream. Finally, Ulcerin gave Beelzebub his reading. He believed Beelz was an addict who would have to sell his body on the street to pay for drugs. If he achieved his full potential, however, he believed Beelz could become a middle manager at a fast-food restaurant. They thanked Ulcerin and left.

Outside, the trio had a bemused conversation about how wrong the fortuneteller had been. Beelz thought that the prediction that Ledas could become a famous singer was absurd, as he'd never heard him sing before. Ryori noted that he sometimes sang after having sex or in the shower. Ledas defended his voice, stating he was a great singer, although he didn't know what opera was. Ryori confirmed it was a horrible genre. Beelzebub laughed about Ryori's fortune, as him taking racy photographs of women was about the last thing he'd ever do.

Just then, Cavatel flew into Beelzebub, kicking him into a fruit stand. Cavatel and Saccottine landed next to Ryori, Ledas, Carawa, and Akashiyaki. A lot of people ran off, fleeing the scene in a panic. Cavatel rebuked Beelzebub for continuing to pursue Akashiyaki, swearing he could kill him for his insolence. Beelzebub just wanted to fight him already. He was tired of hearing Cavatel speak.

They rushed at each other, Cavatel going on the offensive at first. Beelzebub took a battering, as Cavatel's speed and strength were superior. Nevertheless, he warned Ledas not to step in, claiming to have everything under control. Ledas grew impatient, though, as he considered the bounty hunters to be weak. Neither Cavatel nor Saccottine believed anyone on their team could best them.

Finally, Cavatel used his Paralyzing Resonance, which washed over Beelzebub. He and Saccottine relaxed, believing they had beaten Beelzebub. Just then, Beelz unleashed his Power of Darkness, powering up massively, and shattered through the paralyzing force, knocking Cavatel over. The skies darkened as he took on the form. Without wasting time, Beelzebub rushed at Cavatel, slicing his face open with his Darkness Scratch. The open wounds exploded seconds later, killing Cavatel. Saccottine tried to avenge his friend, but Beelz quickly dealt with him by punching his claw through his chest.

Beelzebub relaxed, releasing the Power of Darkness. Ledas was greatly impressed by the fight. Beelzebub told him about the Power of Darkness and how his father had taught it to him a long time ago. Just then, Beelzebub noticed Akashiyaki was gone. With horror, Ledas saw that the energy bindings he was holding were not attached to anything any longer. Ryori knew Ledas had been distracted by watching the fight. The bounty must have just gotten away.

They heard a roar in the sky and watched Akashiyaki's ship disappear into space. Ledas threw the capsule containing his spaceship, and the group quickly ran inside. Theodosius appeared at the central console. Beelzebub ordered him to pursue Akashiyaki at once. Theo took command of the ship. They took off, leaving Harbolian, and pursued Akashiyaki through space.

In the first scene of chapter 4, on June 28, Age 776, Beelzebub, Ledas, Ryori, and Carawa landed on Dalon IV after following Akashiyaki to the city of Whalupalavu. They had tracked Akashiyaki there. Ledas tortured Shebal Kaum in a prison made up of his own ki on the spaceship before returning it to a capsule in his pocket.

They entered the docks, where many employees and travelers were. Beelz asked a nearby employee if she knew where Akashiyaki had landed, showing her a model of the ship on his wrist-pad. The dock attendant found that question highly inappropriate and refused to answer. Ledas said they were on official Galactic Patrol business and showed her a hand-drawn bounty hunting license, but the attendant didn't care, as she stated Dalon IV's government didn't recognize the Galactic Patrol's authority. Ledas conjured an Ice Cannon, threatening her life if she didn't take them to the ship.

The attendant capitulated at once, escorting them to the proper hangar after consulting her datapad. Without a second thought, Ledas destroyed the ship with a Kyorra Flash. The boys shared a gleeful moment, knowing Akashiyaki was stranded on the planet. Ledas and Beelzebub were eager to begin hunting the octopus man, while Ryori and Carawa were more interested in tasting the local cuisine. They decided to split off. Beelz and Ledas shot off into the air, leaving the others behind.

In the second scene, later that day, Ryori and Carawa stopped by the Tabo Kavor Ablorne restaurant for a bite to eat. The place was packed. Carawa ordered an ultra supreme supillo smoothie with whipped cream while Ryori got Bhourven wings in a medium spicy sauce with a side of space celery. Theo helped Ryori translate the menu, allowing him to order without inconveniencing the waiter.

While waiting, they watched the Telepathic Karaoke Championship Age 776 finals between Rithjilg and Ziuhbanerk, who were Mrovians. The table next to them was filled with a rowdy group of young men who were talking about buying pheromone strips from Zubal (a galactic warehouse) to get their girlfriends to put out more. Ryori wrote a note about it in his phone, as he considered ordering some for Ledas as a present.

Not long after, the waiter returned with their food and drinks. Ryori wondered what the appropriate tipping amount was, as he wasn't sure about the alien customs. Just then, Akashiyaki entered the restaurant. He immediately walked over to a woman at a booth with her infant son and stole her bowl of soup, slurping up over half of its contents in one go. She was disgusted and demanded he pay for a new bowl. Akashiyaki didn't respond, instead moving on to his next victim.

Ryori got an idea, taking the Bitrex out of his pocket and slathering it into the Bhourven wing sauce, except for one that he held onto. Biting into it, he praised how good it tasted, offering a bite to Carawa, who politely refused. This drew Akashiyaki over. Without asking, he grabbed a wing from Ryori's plate and tossed it into his mouth. A moment later, he spit out the half-chewed wing, falling over, his skin shriveling up, and lay in stunned silence on the floor, seemingly paralyzed.

Ryori contacted Beelz and Leeds on their Bluetooth devices, telling them where he was and that he had caught Akashiyaki. Carawa went outside to fire a flare into the sky so that they could get there quickly. Beelzebub and Ledas promised to hurry over. Ryori returned to his table with a triumphant feeling, stealing a sip of Carawa's drink while thinking about the naughty reward Ledas would have to give him later that night for what he'd just done.

Trivia[]

  • Whenever Ledas leaves Earth, Carawa remains to watch over Ryori. Because of all the time they've spent together, Carawa and Ryori share a significant bond.
