Carawa (ケラワ, Kerawa) is a Saibaman owned by Ledas. When he was given to the Saiyan by Captain Banas, he was already in his red form, indicating he was a Saibaman of significant power and experience. Carawa is a secondary character in Dragon Ball Z: The Forgotten and Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon.

History[]

Dragon Ball Z: The Forgotten[]

Lauto Saga[]

Carawa was one of Ledas' red Saibaman who survived the raid on the rebels. His name is a pun on caraway. He was the third in command, under Wilde and (of course) Ledas. He led the small vanguard forces ahead of the main forces in a feint to lure out the soldiers. While this ploy worked, it cost Carawa almost his entire Saibamen team; with only he, Ses, Ame, and Sonfla surviving from that group. Indeed, their survival was only because of Carawa's ability to create many small ki blasts, which ended up killing quite a few of the rebels. He was particularly friendly toward Wilde, who was the only other red Saibaman at the time.

Planet Earth Saga[]

He later matured into the red form during Ledas' search for Earth, and sparred with his fellow Saibamen throughout that journey. Carawa accompanied Ledas to Earth, and trained in his Gravity Suppression Unit along with him. During Ledas' battle with Piccolo, Carawa was accidentally released from his seed-form. He wreaked havoc on the remains of the town that Ledas earlier blew up, and killed many fleeing humans. When Wilde asked him to flee with him, Carawa was the first Saibamen to agree with him. He later killed Poy, when Poy attempted to attack Wilde.

Fulfillment Saga[]

Carawa was seen in final two chapters of this saga, training in Ledas' gravity training unit with his fellow Saibamen. By this point, his strength had grown far beyond that of a normal Saibaman's, and he was extremely loyal to Ledas.

Dragon Ball: Heart of the Dragon[]

West City Saga[]

On May 30, Age 774, Ses was in the kitchen trying to fill a glass of water. Jia entered, screaming upon seeing Ses. The Saibaman fled out the back door in distress, dropping his glass, and leaving the sink running. Jia tried to apologize, but he was long gone. After calling over a CLEAN-BOT to clean up the broken glass, she looked out the window, watching Wilde and Carawa sunbathe in the backyard while Ses and Ame sparred in front of them, thinking to herself how crazy this was.

On June 1st, Ledas, Chiaki, and Ryori returned home from school. Ledas snagged a mango from the tree in the front yard before Carawa popped out of the bushes, running over to greet them. Chiaki freaked out, but Ledas assuaged his fears by telling him that Carawa was part of his pack of domesticated Saibamen. Chiaki believed they were dinosaurs. Jia, having heard Chiaki's scream, opened the door and let them in. Hachi and Chiwan were inside. Hachi was petrified of Carawa. Ledas apologized for taking so long, Chiaki explaining that Ledas had been in a martial arts street fight. Jia brought them a platter of food, also giving Ledas a bowl of hot and sour soup spiked with poison before excusing herself. Chiaki thanked her, calling her "Mrs. Hareki". Ryori told him that Jia was their caretaker and was not related to him. Nevertheless, Ledas complimented her and called her part of the crew, which touched Jia deeply.

Ledas recounted his bout against Master Kamome as Jia retreated to her room. The kids got to work on their scheme, Ryori taking the lead on breaking into Kairyupin's apartment. He told them about how he used to pull the fire alarm inside apartment complexes (after leaving convincing, smoldering evidence) with Shoekki, which had worked well in the past. While slurping down his soup, Ledas said that if that didn't work, he had a foolproof backup plan. When Chiwan pressed him, Ledas refused to answer, stating that if Ryori's plan worked, nobody would ever know what he had intended. Chiwan asked Hachi to accompany Chiaki to the school to search Kairyupin's office while they went to her apartment.

However, they didn't know how to break into an office, so Ledas suggested they take his Saibamen with them. Ryori thought the Saibamen could break through a window and replace it after the kids were done searching the room. Ledas promised the Saibamen would listen to Chiaki and Hachi. Carawa jumped up from the couch, raising his juice box to the air, confirming he'd help. Hachi was scared of Carawa, but Ledas told him the Saibamen wouldn't hurt his friends no matter what.

Without warning, Ledas shuddered and ran to the trashcan, vomiting up the soup. He cursed Jia for preparing something that he assumed had gone bad before returning to the couch to fill his belly up again with mozzarella sticks.

That night, Chiaki hopped the fence into the school grounds, whistling for the Saibamen to follow him over. They carried a piece of glass with them. They found Hachi standing outside of Kairyupin's office. Hachi told Chiaki that the janitor hadn't been around for like half an hour, so they should be good to go. Hachi expressed trepidation, unsure of whether they should go forward with the plan. Chiaki told him to run home if he didn't have the stomach for the operation. He noted that Hachi was nothing like his sister. Hachi wondered if Chiaki had a thing for Chiwan, which the other boy didn't deny. Hachi said he had no chance with her. Chiaki laughed at him, saying that he'd love to date Chiwan if she were down for it.

Changing subjects, Chiaki handed Hachi a rock, asking him to break the office window. Hachi was about to do it when Carawa rushed forward, grunting at them to stop. He melted the window with a ki blast, the sand blowing away in the wind. Ses got rid of the remaining sand with a hand vacuum. Hachi freaked out; Chiaki tried to calm the other boy down, reminding him that they had a job to do. He jumped through the open window, Hachi reluctantly following.

A few minutes later, Hachi and Chiaki returned Kairyupin's papers to her drawers and folders, having not found the answer key. Chiaki texted Chiwan as much. They noticed the janitor's flashlight approaching. In a panic, the boys fled out the open window. The Saibamen replaced the window, although it became immediately apparent that the glass was an inch and a half too short. Chiaki yelled at Hachi for forgetting to measure the part of the glass that went up under the frame. They ran off, jumping the fence. The janitor yelled from behind, seeing something. The Saibamen followed them over the fence soon after.

Chiaki knew Kairyupin would notice what happened to the window, but she wouldn't be able to prove they had done it. He gave the Saibamen cold-pressed 100% organic kiwi juice as a reward, then got out of there.

The next day, Carawa watched Jia talk to police officers in the front yard. She told them she wasn't housing leprechauns in her backyard, although she had Capsule Corp. tech. The police apologized for bothering her, noting that crazy neighbors were common in big cities. Jia stated that if the neighbor called the cops on her again, she'd seek a restraining order against her.

On the night of June 4th, Jia and the Saibamen watched 90 Day Fiancé. The doorbell rang. Wilde paused the show. The five resumed their show after Ryori came home and went to bed.

On the evening of June 5th, as the sun went down, the Saibamen packed up their chairs and headed inside. Later, Jia, Carawa, Ryori, and Ledas played monopoly. After Carawa lost most of his money to Jia, he rage quit, running down the hall screeching while the others watched The Three Stooges, having a grand old time.

On June 9th Ses, Ame, Wilde, and Carawa played in the backyard while the old vaping woman watched them via a drone. Wilde and Carawa sparred while Ses and Ame sunbathed and drank pineapple juice. The woman streamed her feed on her channel to her followers, ranting about the Saibamen potentially damaging the fence. She read several super chats, continuing to watch the Saibamen spar.

A few minutes later, the Kiseibachi attacked Ledas as he slept in the backyard. The Saibamen, who had also been sleeping in the backyard, noticed their master in distress. Wilde rallied the troops to his defense. Ses caught Ledas' body as it was flung around. He tried to create an energy barrier but wasn't strong enough to prevent the Kiseibach from breaking through. Ame too could not withstand the swarm. Wilde and Carawa faired slightly better, but they were on the back foot. Ledas woke up, not understanding why he couldn't move. Coming to his senses, Ledas felt a deep, protective sense for his Saibamen overcoming him. The Saibamen continued to guard him as best they could. They were bleeding now. Ledas tried with all his might to get up.

Ses and Ame were ripped to shreds by the Kiseibachi, killing them instantly. Screaming in dismay, Ledas used all his strength to break free of the paralysis, rising to the air and releasing an explosive wave that destroyed the remaining Kiseibachi. Ledas gained movement from this, returning to the ground. Wilde and Carawa scampered over to him, crying out for vengeance. Ledas promised them he'd avenge Ses and Ame, closing his eyes, sensing for that place he'd felt his energy before. He promised he'd kill whoever was responsible. Rising into the air, Ledas shot off, flying with grim urgency to Central City.

On June 16th, Wilde and Carawa sparred in the backyard while the old vaping woman filmed them from over the fence, ranting to herself about how horrible they were. As they battled one another, the two began changing into the next Saibaman form. Their bodies turned blue, the force of their transformations knocking the old woman away. Gleefully, the Saibamen rushed off into the bushes, continuing their friendly quarrel.

On June 21st, while Jia, Ledas, and Ryori celebrated the boys graduating seventh-grade in the kitchen, Jia poured Carawa a cup of juice. The Saibaman took his prize and scurried off.
