Dear Samuel, It was nice seeing you for Christmas. General White has put me in to be promoted to Captain. If it goes through, I will be reassigned to the Papaya Islands. I will have an entire division to lead! I'm so excited! It's amazing how time flies. It seems like just yesterday that that I joined the Army and you were still in elementary school! You were so tall when I came home for Christmas. I can't even imagine you in high school. Anyway, write to me when you can. I have some things to attend to today, so I must go now. Stay safe, Sammy. Dear Lukas, School is going good. My grades are top of the class. But I think I should focus on art when I start high school in September. Nothing much has been going on at home. Mom moved dad into a hospital. I think he's getting worse. The past few weeks, he was coughing a lot. Mom won't say what dad's sick with, but I think it's getting serious. She was pretty mad about you sending her money, but now that dad's in the hospital, she doesn't complain about it anymore. I will write you again if dad gets worse. Dear Lukas, I'm graduating from middle school next week. My class is going on a field trip to South City tomorrow to celebrate. We're going to an amusement park and then we're going to watch a martial arts tournament! I think King Chappa and Man-wolf will be there. It should be really fun. Dear Samuel, My promotion has gone through! I'm officially Captain Lukas Blue! General White is reassigning me to Papaya Island. I'm going there with this egghead (that's what we call scientists), Dr. Gero. He's going to train several of us in martial arts and give us some biological implants to make us the perfect warriors. It sounds scary, but I'm excited too. I can't wait to see what he's going to outfit us with. Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to come home for a while. Once the training is over, I may have some time, but General White was talking about reassigning me elsewhere. I will let you know when I can, Sammy. Dear Samuel, This is the first day I've had off in months. I have been training on the old World Tournament stage with the other soldiers since I last wrote you. Dr. Gero's son and I have been training partners throughout this. It has been the most intense experience of my life. Dr. Gero is pushing us so that we handle his biological enhancements. I'm not sure what Gero is giving us, but I think it has to do with psychokinesis… I know, it sounds like something out of science fiction, right? But I hope it is true. It would be excellent to move things with my mind. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and high school is fun.
